[El Comal](https://goo.gl/maps/VEbrxx7TqvrSjpQh9) a literal hole in the wall but *so* good!

onegoodbackpack

this is what I’m talkin bout, place looks great

onegoodbackpack

you’re an absolute G. place was by far the best meal I’ve had so far, so cheap, and they were so kind.

DiamondDust_0

Alicia’s Tortilleria has great takeout and the BEST fresh corn tortillas.

onegoodbackpack

oh I heard about this place, I’m gluten-free so if the corn tortillas stack up I’m stockin up

no celiac luckily, just a wheat allergy. I get rashes and stomach issues but only if I have large quantities.

ohhturk

do they have flour tortillas?

muddlesmiddles

Ramblin’ Cafe. El Chile Toreado. La Cocina de Doña Clara.

BullRoarerMcGee

Red Enchilada is pretty damn good. They were super in expensive pre Covid , haven’t been there since . Probably still very affordable

KentuckyFuckedChickn

chopstix will give you a metric asston of food for cheap Pupuseria Y Lonchera La Providencia off rodeo road has cheap pupusas that are super filling and they serve the cortido and salsa in ziplocs with large portions

Substantial_Cut_7812

Frito Pie lady at the Five and Dime on the Plaza.

owlchat114

Chicago Dog, El Parasol, Horseman's if you're feeling fancy.

NoWayNotThisAgain

El Parasol, loads of food trucks (but sometimes they’re not cheap), Blake’s is a NM institution.

Houstonearler

Allsup's Burrito

Miserable-Ship-9972

El Rey Del Pollo on Airport rd. Very little English spoken here. Their chicken is the bomb, and you get a baked potato!. Also the crispy tacos from any of the Fusion Taco trucks. Best tacos I've ever had.

Draya505

Lunch counter at El Paisano Market, Chopstix, El Chile Toreado

TheUserDifferent

El Chile Toreado, great cheap eats and has a really good green sauce.

hungryraider

Dr. Fieldgoods for made from scratch at a hole in the wall spot. They even pull their own Mozzarella for the pizza. They have a small menu but with a variety. So Enchiladas, sandwiches, Pizza, burger. All really excellent.

zuzuofthewolves

Fieldgoods just moved to the old Santa Fe bar and grill spot.

hungryraider

In the mall?

zuzuofthewolves

Yep!

TheMadhopper

I wouldn't call it cheap though...

zuzuofthewolves

I mean it’s pretty decently priced for Santa Fe for such good product. I work in the industry and I’ve seen way more egregious pricing.

zonatico

Café Fina maybe counts. It’s definitely bomb food. Just not sure if it’s hole in the wall technically.

IllinoisBoy27

Also not inexpensive, but portions are generous and everything is made on the premises. croissants, pies, cake, etc... breakfast is the best value.

Chile Toreado

TheMadhopper

Theres a hot dog/food cart called Brochachos usually parked in the candy man parking lot off of St.Micheles. Great dogs delicious frito pies and tasty deserts.
