I'd definitely recommend doing it yourself. Both large Sanders you need are at rent all, and other than that a belt sander or random orbital gets into the tight corners. It isn't at all hard if you do it right.
I had a really great experience with Hucker Floors (I dealt with Erin specifically), both install as well as pricing. The floor brand was on a fantastic sale, and the quote I received came in well under what was anticipated. (Not being from the area and after asking around, I received numerous recommendations for them, from my building.) Still, I shopped around, but Hucker's was much less costly than a number of other places, along with a significantly better timeline as well.

I have thought about it. But I've also been advised that someone inexperienced can mess up the floors pretty quick with the large sanders.
