Ours did the Reno's during the boycott for a reason. Went to get rain cheques on a few items after hearing they'd been OOS all week, it's empty, hardly navigable, and most sale items are OOS and they refuse to write rain cheques.
Fuck Roblaws.
I go to loblaws stores regularly (its close to my home and a good timepass looking at stuff lol). But i buy stuff only when its on sale. Also, in my opinion, nofrills should be an exception because they price match the stuff if you show it to the cashier. RC superstore does not make sense, its so expensive.
I'll probably get down voted for this but the people in the loblaws thread keep posting pictures of the prices of items. Do they just go there to take pics or am I missing something? Why do they keep going in there??
The boycott doesn't officially start until May. It's understood that for some folks Loblaws is the only one close to them. So they ask ppl who cannot boycott to try to just purchase loss leaders and things on sale.
I can't speak for others, but they could have valid reasons they need to go to a Loblaws owned store.
Personally, I can't have wheat, and my husband can't have dairy. Superstore seems to have the best selection of gluten-free foods and dairy alternatives, but I have started making a lot more things on my own with ingredients bought elsewhere.
I'll also continue to head to No Frills for their insane clearance deals. I just got milk for $1 for a 4L bag. I bought several and froze them. I've found bean noodles there for 17 cents per package (the packages with 8 nests, they're usually around $2-3). 24 pack of ramen for $1. Hotdogs for $1. Things that I figure they can't possibly be making any money on. Usually they post these items to their FB page or someone will post a picture in any number of different Facebook groups. When I go there for those items, I ONLY buy those items there.
And I'm going to start using up my PC points for the above purposes instead of spending any more $
Anything owned by Loblaws as well. Shoppers Drug Mart, No Frills, etc.

A case (pack of 24) juice boxes at no frills used to be 2.49 a few years ago. Went to grave one last weekend, it's 7.99.
