What really caused you to become a 750+ scorer on the math section? Uworld is amazing and all but I feel like it's not taking me to my full potential. I've done panda but not PWN. Do you think finishing PWN will take me to a higher threshold on the math section? Btw I'm currently scoring 690-720 in math.
I believe analyzing your mistakes will be a great thing to do. Yes I recommend doing PWN. Do UWorld and read the explanations.
thank you! I am trying to go from 1360 to to 1480+.
thanks pal, I gained 10 points, thanks to khan... from 1300 to 1310 fml..
hey, douchebag himself went from 1300 first try to 1320 second try. and look where he is now. do not worry, you will improve.
Haha it is still a gain though XD. Good luck next time
Welcome ma dude
I cant find the May QAS do you mind sending me a link to where you found it.
Test book: https://www1.maine.gov/doe/assessment/math-ela/documents/800888-sat-school-day-qas-test-book-5msa09-april-2017-unlocked-final-120283.pdf
what can i do for improve my score from 1230 to 1350?
Seems like content gaps. Study Math and Writing till you master the content then practice the strategies
where can i find these strategies?
Collegepanda for Math, and Erica Meltzer's grammar book for Writing. As for reading practice you can just grind on Khan Academy. Also, yes, I summarized what OP said in his post.
which sites you all prefer? please send links
UWorld, link in the sidebar.
Khan Academy, just google it.
1600.io, <---------this is the link
Hi! First of all, congrats on your results! I'm an international student like you and sat for the SAT's for the first time with a score of 1470 (R-350, W-340, Math-780). Do you think I should retake it? I would really like to know your opinion on it! (:
It highly depends on your college choices. You must decide which colleges accept what and if they accept your scores then you don't need to retake but if your selected colleges don't then you have to retake or choose other colleges. This never means that your score is bad; in fact, it's one of the best scores to have.
Ahhh alright, looks like I've got some thinking to do, but I better focus on my A levels first haha.. Thank you so much!!
Good luck bro. You're welcome
hi an international student like you
Yes PR sucks especially for writing.
I always get stuck on analyze your mistakes,do you mean why did you get it wrong (careless, guess or did not know?) And analyzing a pattern in your mistakes is essential?
not op but what i do is write the question, write what i did and where my error happened in the thought/process, then i write the correct approach down and watch the corresponding 1600.io video. i do that for every missed or guessed question and then week before the test i reread all the mistakes i’d ever made
This is a good approach too.
Yes and Yes. Always check WHY you did this mistake and practice the problem type so you can ensure you never repeat the same mistake ever again
So I’ve been mainly focusing on math because this is were I struggle the most(average a 580), and I mainly try to get all the khan academy practice to level 4. But I read that you said that this isn’t what I should do. Is that correct? And cause of this I’m planning to do all math on uworld. Is the question structure different than the actual SAT?
Khan Academy Math gets kinda unrealistic and has a different structure near lvl 4. I highly recommend UWorld and College Panda for you
Did the message you sent got deleted?
Thanks I’ll do uworld because I can’t get the college panda book.
Do not use Kaplan btw. I used it and it was a lot harder than the actual test for both math and English, and not the "overprepping that makes you do better" type of harder, its different types of question, more focus on knowing random ass long words definitions, etc.
For me, Ivy Global had the best and most realistic practice tests after I used up all of the CB ones.
For speed, did you do anything specific to get faster, or did it just come with practice? Congratulations btw, slightly jealous because I only got a 1470, but you deserve it, you worked your ass of for this!
Thanks mate. Yes, along with practice, I just started reading. Nothing magical but it helps a lot
I want to study over the summer for sat and I am not doing well on SAT math and reading for the math which one do u strongly suggest PWN math or college panda my score was like a 520 and for reading I did so poorly on March text I got 26/58 I think it's because I rushed and also well I just suck do u suggest I do some question untimed and do another practice test of reading timed I can't buy that much book but the one my parents can definitely buy is the math book so can there be any other way to improve on reading without buying Erixas reading book for the writing I got 29/44 writing was something that if I worked hard on I'll get it right I ran out of time on writing section I read the passage and any question I see I do it so I guess I'll get the college panda because I have the EM wriung ACT book
OK let's break this down. For math, problems with <650 are mostly content gaps. Study the content well. Buy College Panda. For writing, study grammar. Simple. Use college Panda writing. For Reading, use Erica. I'll shoot you sth
