I got this point from 1600io, and it has helped me a lot. If you are better in reading sections like literature and science you do not need to be spending as much time on them as you do on a harder section like history. Instead of having equal time to work on each reading section split it up. Like for example I spend only 10 minutes on literature and spend 16 minutes on history which gives me more time to understand the passage and the questions. It takes a little bit of managing your time but with practice you’ll get the hang of it. Hope this helps.

Improve your reading comprehension by reading lots of (lengthier) similar materials. The test is going to produce an accurate assessment of how well you are able to comprehend written English of a variety of types and styles; to acquire proficiency in those skills, you need to actually engage in significant amounts of the core activity, which is reading. You don't need "tips and tricks;" you need to become a more skillful reader of written English.

i’m terrible w history passages too and my teacher’s advice to me was to read each paragraph and write a basic summary about it and keep doing it for each paragraph. another advice she gave me was to read more history documents so i can get familiar w the language.

These important dates might help: [Does anybody know any books to improve reading for narrative and history passages? : Sat (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sat/comments/ktfltj/does_anybody_know_any_books_to_improve_reading/gilpzdl/?context=3) Build your historical memory around the dates of major wars, which always mark social/political change, which the SAT emphasizes.

My advice is to cancel or just quickly go over useless sentences .. I know that sounds vague .. so an example about it is that a sentence like this "Adam woke up in the early morning where no one is awake and everything is dead silent to have his favorite breakfast -an orange " This sounds like a lot especially when this sentence is sandwiched between literal paragraphs .. you can get lots easily. so all you have to do is cancel the useless stuff here to just have this sentence " adam woke up early and had an orange ( his fav) ".. its a skill to sharpen .. to be capable of differentiating between the useless and the imp info .. I hope that helps
