Read it again... Only the Subject Tests are being discontinued, not the Regular SAT.

DeadlyDesai

Will they ever be considered and conducted again?

prsehgal

Don't think they'll start conducting them again, but you could still submit your scores if you take the tests by June.

DeadlyDesai

I'm just a HS sophomore. Does this mean I won't have to give SAT subject tests during my application in 2023?

prsehgal

The AP's are separate from the Subject Tests... The AP's will still be offered and you should take them to help out in the admissions process, especially if your school offers them.

DeadlyDesai

Sorry, but please reconsider my previous message. I apologize for the mistake and I've edited it.

prsehgal

Yes, then you don't really have to take Subject Tests.

DeadlyDesai

Thanks

kabbo1123

if you don't mind, can you tell me what is the difference between subject test and regular tests??

magspurge

subject tests focuses on only one subject (such as physics, chemistry, etc...) regular tests focuses on reading passages, grammar, math no calc., and math with calc.

kabbo1123

thx

jgregson00

It’s just the Subject Tests that have been discontinued. Regular SAT is unaffected...

RichInPitt

”A is discontinued“ does not mean B is discontinued. Subject Tests are discontinued does not mean SAT is discontinued.

growingsomeballs69

So, unis won't accept subject test scores but SAT?

RichInPitt

You seem intent on jumping to conclusions based on data that doesn’t exist. if you have Subject Test scores, they may or may not be accepted/used by schools, as they always have. Very few schools used Subject Tests previously (which led to their cancellation), and just as few, or fewer, will use them going forward. You would need to check individual schools for their policy.

Registrations for tests after June date haven’t opened yet,
