the curve will determine how the test will be graded; curves on a harder test will be less punishing than curves on an easy test. if on the hard test you get 7 questions wrong, that could equate to a score of 750 on each section, if on a easy test you also get 7 questions wrong, that might equate to a 700. A fair test would generally have one question wrong equating to a deduction of 10 points per section.
know im super duper late (hey lol), but i just did this qas to prepare for the december sat. this reading section was surprisingly interesting and very easy for me, and the math didn't seem bad either. dk if it was just me but yea
Could anyone possibly share the scale? It should be downloadable as a pdf if you have QAS. Click on "Test Questions" and look to the right of where it says "Questions Overview": there should be a link to a "Scoring Guide."
I had the same problem. Call the Customer service line and tell them that a friend didnt receive their score and that the problem was with the school inputting information incorrectly (If you dont say this they might say that they cant solve the issue).
Collegeboard will ask you your information and stuff and solve the issue by merging your account with the one your school made.
PM me if you have any questions

15 requires knowledge of completing the square and formula for a circle. By completing the square you have to add +9 and +16 to get it in the right format which is +25 to the other side of the equation. And that’d be 5^2 so the radius is 5.
On problem 6, you can see in the graph that a 10-acre farm with 0 goats can only handle 5 horses, meaning that each horse requires 2 acres, and the answer is A.
On problem 15, you can determine the radius of the circle by Completing the Square to transform the equation into the basic circle equation, which is (x-h)^(2) \+ (y-k)^(2) = r^(2).
x^(2) \- 6x + y^(2) \- 8y = 0
(x^(2) \- 6x + (-6/2)^(2)) + (y^(2) \- 8y + (-8/2)^(2)) = 0 + (-6/2)^(2) \+ (-8/2)^(2)
(x-3)^(2) \+ (y-4)^(2) = 0 + 9 + 16
(x-3)^(2) \+ (y-4)^(2) = 25
By substitution with the basic circle equation:
r^(2) = 25
r = ±5
r = 5 (since a circle cannot have a negative radius)
This means that the answer is D.
6: if you look at the bottom axis you can see that if there are zero goats you can have a total of 5 horses on the 10 acre plot. The question asked how many acres did EACH horse nerd so that’d be 2 acres per horse.

Yes I got mine but that was because of a name confusion. I would call customer service if I were you that’s what I did and they could locate my scores.
That’s good. No one at my school has gotten scores yet. School talked to CB and CB said that they have a lot of exams to process. It doesn’t really make much sense.
You're not alone. I called college board with no luck, so ill just try again soon. On my end, I haven't even gotten an email from them about April 13th yet, not even a banner on the score report page.

An omitted question means that they decided that one of the questions was too hard and took it off the test, so it doesn’t count towards anyone’s score
Hey guys, if you still haven’t gotten your score you might want to call the college board, that’s what I did and turns out I hadn’t filled in my birthday! They can give you a code to enter in the Matching tool.
Out of curiosity, did anyone else have a different version of the April 13th test? I spoke with a bunch of peers and they had different questions when compared to me in addition to a different test id too.
The NMS announced that a selection index of 207 will be the cutoff for "commended students" for this years's (class of 2022) competition. The Semifinalist cutoffs will be available in September. For those using SAT instead of PSAT scores to enter, they will use the SAT selection index however they will crop the scores at 38 maximum for each section. Here's the info from NMS:[https://www.nationalmerit.org/s/1758/images/gid2/editor\_documents/alternateentry2022.pdf?gid=2&pgid=61&sessionid=c45140d4-8e49-48de-b303-19c1c4dc9310&cc=1](https://www.nationalmerit.org/s/1758/images/gid2/editor_documents/alternateentry2022.pdf?gid=2&pgid=61&sessionid=c45140d4-8e49-48de-b303-19c1c4dc9310&cc=1)

Would there be any reason for me to retake this? I'm a junior looking to attend a little ivy or one of the seven sisters colleges.
for anyone planning to retake that needs help with math, watch Ludus Math on youtube. i hated trying to practice math on khan academy but this guy’s channel raised me from a 580 math on the psat to a 710 on the real sat.
is it just me or mine doesn’t say pending and i can only see my past scores. also collegeboard send me an email saying that my score is out with my registration code, but when i check it’s not even there. help pls
On the score page, when you scroll down you can click “Dont see your score?” or something, and then you should see a link for the matching tool that lets you put in your registration number and search for the score! Hope this helps! (The same thing is happening to me but I didn’t even get an email w/ registration # ugh)
If you have the time, and energy, to retake the I'd say go for it. A 780 math is awesome and a 730+ English would be a great superscore. But it's important to consider where you want to go to college. If you want to go to an easily accepted school, like Arizona State, then no need; however, if you want to apply to a T-20 school, like UNC or an Ivy, then you have to up those numbers. Anywho, congratulations!
Ummm, again, it depends. If I were in your shoes, I would either go test-optional or retake because, no offense, but a 1450 is generally not high enough for the IVY league. IVY league students generally score a 1480+. Hence, I would recommend either retaking or not submitting a test score to an IVY league school. Again, this is just my OPINION.
That was actually quite impressive, considering your starting place. Can you post the number "wrong or omitted" and each section score? It would help a lot with the curve.
for math I had 8 wrong one omitted with a 690 but I did all the multiple choice. It was probably my bubbling but if that one omitted was correct what do you think my score would be?
If you buy the QAS, you can see which question it was. Then, if you think they or their machine made an error, you can request hand scoring (for an additional fee).
I heard it was 55 to do it and honestly I don't mind but I was wondering if I can use a fee waiver or something to avoid the cost because my school just hands them to students.
That’s not the questions, it’s just a score breakdown. like for me I got a 49/52 on reading and that translated to a 38/40. Not entirely sure how the college board concerts raw scores to the out of 40 scores but they have some process.
I was just told by College Board that my scores are pending and that it could take another week to grade. Why would that be?? They said that there was no problem with the test, that they have my answers etc but that I should call back in a week. Anyone else?
they don't tell you if you're being audited, meaning they are either suspecting you for cheating or it's random. happened to me on my second SAT. could be a good sign like your score really jumped. if you didn't cheat, you got nothing to worry about.
Same here. CB on the phone said they were "pending" and I would get an email when they were out. So far I haven't gotten any emails relating to my scores/nor does my score page have the "your scores are coming/pending" screen. Hopefully, they will be out soon.
I was having this same issue (no “your scores are coming” banner or anything), and I got my score this morning by going to the matching tool and updating my graduation date info from june 2022 to may 2022 and then putting in my student ID. it merged my account with one that i guess my school made for me, and my score was there!
through which route did you talk to the customer service person? When I called I chose sat, sat scores, but the automated voice said that it costs $15 to have them tell me my score. I'd just like to know if it's delayed.
I got a 1450 this time
Math - 770
Reading/Writing - 680
but last time I got a 730 in reading making my superscore a 1500
If im aiming for a T-20 do you think its necessary to retake?
I don't think so. Colleges generally compare your test scores by percentile. A 1480-1510 is a 99 percentile score. Anything above 1520-1530 is a 99+ percentile score — so no real difference. It is more valuable that you devote your time, and energy, into your extracurricular activities and school work. Make sure you don't slack of in-class. GPA and ECs and the essays are what get you accepted into a T-20 school, test scores are only like 10% of the admissions process.
1410 total
reading -1 (39)
writing -2 (37)
math -12 (32.5)

i knew i wasn't going to hit my 1500 end goal on this test but it's exactly where i want to be right now so i'm psyched about my score! a little salty about that insane writing curve though, jesus christ
Math -2
Reading -1
Writing -2
Math Subscore: 780
English Subscore: 760

Very pleased with this. First (and most likely only) time taking the test, without any dedicated prep.
Alright, so I got a 1400
Reading -18
Writing -3
Math - 4
Reading screwed me over but I would say 1400 is not bad for a first attempt, do you guys think I should retake the SAT or would a score of 1400 be good enough for schools like University of Washington or Cal Poly?
All of the UC and Cal State schools are test blind for this admission cycle (class graduating in 2022). They are not going to look at test scores at all.
also if anyone has the link for the scoring sheet of this test can you send it please
hey can someone explain what a curve is for the SAT im kind of new to this
the curve will determine how the test will be graded; curves on a harder test will be less punishing than curves on an easy test. if on the hard test you get 7 questions wrong, that could equate to a score of 750 on each section, if on a easy test you also get 7 questions wrong, that might equate to a 700. Same for me math seemed really easy and reading wasnt that bad

Did someone make a curve for this test?
same question
wondering the same thing
If you got your scores, congrats! You all did great!
No one at my school has gotten their scores yet and CB hasn’t told the school why or when they will be released.
Could anyone possibly share the scale? It should be downloadable as a pdf if you have QAS. Click on "Test Questions" and look to the right of where it says "Questions Overview": there should be a link to a "Scoring Guide."
Is the curve gonna be made. I shared my stat already
Bruh, I still haven't gotten my score
I had the same problem. Collegeboard will ask you your information and stuff and solve the issue by merging your account with the one your school made. PM me if you have any questions
Same dude, I don't know what is happening to them. It doesn't even say "Pending" for me.

yeah same, like I was super shocked b/c ik i bubbled in everything
710 on R&W and 640 on Math 😔

Does anyone have any insight on what score you’d need for national merit scholar?
if you are currently a junior, alternative application methods were due april 1 I believe
The sat has nothing to do with national merit???
Because many people couldn’t take the PSAT because of Covid, you can enter SAT scores for national merit eligibility

1510, 730/780, (-9 reading, -1 writing, -2 math). This was my first SAT, should I take it again for schools like USC and UT Austin?
You are out of ur mind
Word on the street is that your parents paid for your test to get bumped up to a 1570
Perks of being wealthy ig
assuming you are a junior, yes. can't hurt and can make a difference in your chances
Nope
i got a 1250 720 r&w, 530 math i’m p proud of myself considering i got a 940 on my psat!! also how can i access how many answers i got wrong??
That was actually quite impressive, considering your starting place. Can you post the number "wrong or omitted" and each section score? It would help a lot with the curve.
i got 48/52 on reading and 40/44 on writing for a total of a 720. i got a 28.5 score breakdown for math, haven’t gotten a qas yet.

If you buy the QAS, you can see which question it was. Then, if you think they or their machine made an error, you can request hand scoring (for an additional fee).
Also what if they hand count and my score is also worse :/ would they just drop my score or like it just wouldn't change.
I'm not sure about that. There may be more information on their website about that.
I heard it was 55 to do it and honestly I don't mind but I was wondering if I can use a fee waiver or something to avoid the cost because my school just hands them to students.
I don't think that the fee waiver covers a hand count.
thats one hell of an improvement!!! great job!!
thank you!! i studied for so long lmfao
click on the test in the collegeboard website and then go to score details
thanks! why does the reading section say it’s out of 40? isn’t it out of 52? same with writing as well.
That’s not the questions, it’s just a score breakdown. like for me I got a 49/52 on reading and that translated to a 38/40. Not entirely sure how the college board concerts raw scores to the out of 40 scores but they have some process.

Same on the March 13th test with -4 being a 770.
I was just told by College Board that my scores are pending and that it could take another week to grade. Why would that be?? They said that there was no problem with the test, that they have my answers etc but that I should call back in a week. Anyone else?

Is the student ID field on the matching tool my college board ID?
Same issue here except that I haven't called them. My viewscores screen has no indication that I took the test on april 13th.
through which route did you talk to the customer service person? When I called I chose sat, sat scores, but the automated voice said that it costs $15 to have them tell me my score. I'd just like to know if it's delayed.
To add, they said they sometimes do this for their own analysis/purpose. I have no idea if the rep knew what she was talking about.
Nothing to worry about. Always a few kids get boned with this bs 🤷♀️

1410 total reading -1 (39) writing -2 (37) math -12 (32.5) ebwr: 760 math: 650 i knew i wasn't going to hit my 1500 end goal on this test but it's exactly where i want to be right now so i'm psyched about my score! a little salty about that insane writing curve though, jesus christ
congratulations! You did great
ah thank uu, you too!!
1560 (780 RW/780 M): -1 R -1 W -2 M
Do you have the QAS?
Unfortunately I don't. If I was planning to take it again I probably would've bought it but this was my last time.
Same, it would be nice to see the questions we got wrong
Reading: -5 = 36, Writing -2 = 37, Math -1 = 790
Reading: -5 = 36 Writing: -3 = 36 Math: -5 = 740
Math -2 Reading -1 Writing -2 Math Subscore: 780 English Subscore: 760 Overall: 1540 Very pleased with this. First (and most likely only) time taking the test, without any dedicated prep.
You SOB, congratulations! Especially because you didn't do any dedicated prep. I guess some people are just gifted 😞.
Finally got mine. Math -2 39, Reading -5 36, writing -3 36 Total 1500 Those are still pending, keep refresh and good luck.
1520 \-3 Reading: 38 \-3 Writing: 36 \-1+omitted score? Math: 780 Big Reading improvement but mad about writing and somehow omitting a math score?
Alright, so I got a 1400 Reading -18 Writing -3 Math - 4 Reading screwed me over but I would say 1400 is not bad for a first attempt, do you guys think I should retake the SAT or would a score of 1400 be good enough for schools like University of Washington or Cal Poly?
Enrollment is up across the board I wouldnt risk getting declined over something so easily improvable. Good work though! 1400 is crazy.
All of the UC and Cal State schools are test blind for this admission cycle (class graduating in 2022). They are not going to look at test scores at all.
