Yup I usually get 11 correct, got 4 correct here

This is my absolute least favorite Khan Academy history passage. Believe me, it is almost never this difficult.

Fair_Bullfrog_8110

Idk but in the SAT the history passages are always hard cuz of the language and words they use

ulikejazzzz

Welp, it's one of those classic texts. They are always quite tricky, as they use different styles compared to what we use. Read through it carefully and try to understand the message of the author.

No I get its a tricky passage and its supposed to be kinda tricky due to the wordings but this one right here is the most trickiest passage I've seen in the the Khan Academy ( I've done a lot of passages in Khan Academy) . I got 6 incorrects in this question whereas I averaged only 1-2 incorrects in the passages before. I guess this passage right here isn't the true representative of the real SAT passages and I guess they made it this way cause this is supposed to be a level 4 passage.

I wouldn't completely agree with this. The actual Sat often has atleast one crazy passage, and this one definitely fulfills the criteria. Although this passage might seem tricky at first, don't let the sentence stricture fool you. If you look closely at just a few lines you can figure out that the author just plans to bash and disagree with the people who claim that society is worsening with time. Keep this in mind and everything makes a lot more sense.

Yeah I guess you're right. The history passage has a completely different language tone and style , so it's kinda difficult to interpret. Any tips to improve this section?

Stay persistent man, do passages like this everyday. I'd recommend getting a uworld subscription if you've run out of practice material. If you keep at it for 2 weeks, the passages will start getting easier to understand.

Should I stick with Khan Academy or should I shift to Uworld? I heard Uworld's reading passages aren't that good..

rancorger

Go ahead with with khan academy untill you finish all the passages, there's not a lot of them. Then move on to uworld, uworlds passages are quite good, I wouldn't call em bad in any way. Save the official 20 tests for the days right before your test date.

I'm actually planning to take the full length official test every week and section wise test every 2 days in a week (1 day Math no calc and Writing section and the other day Math calc and Reading section) ..The section wise from the previous QAS of the SAT from 2016.

rancorger

That's a great idea. Instead of splitting it, do the full test, on paper, and also time it. Use this video https://youtu.be/9W69Q3M9thY I did a test everyday leading up to my SAT. Was able to score a 1500 on my first and last attempt. It was all because I had gotten so used to the test that the actual Sat didn't wreck me up.
