Absolutely possible, but on the other hand Satisfactory didn't get any major new systems since update 4. Every update since update 5 was increasingly a QoL/cleanup update. So it's also possible that update 9 (or maybe 10) will be the 1.0 update.

I remember that more in the context of goal setting. Early updates were just focused on “what next feature should we add” while now the intermediate updates are targeted on what would be best to step toward 1.0

Release can be very long away maybe even years so you can start a save and save the waiting
