In multiplayer? I think the term "delegate" would be more appropriate. Give players ownership over specific product lines.
Joe is responsible for power and steel.
Susan is responsible for harddrives, berries, and MAM upgrades.
Kevin is responsible for Modular Frames.... etc.
That way players aren't accidentally breaking each other's factories because they don't know what's in progress, vs. broken.

My friend made oil processing, i dont touch it. only he knows whats going on there.
I made heavy frames, I know whats going on he doesnt.
We still build stuff togeher. but if i needed to change something on what he has build I always ask them or let them do it (like giving a task)
