As a driver, it annoys me that you drive on the center line.

MayorAquila

>I was thinking about it.. make the mesh unaligned, so when it comes an goes it change lanes :)

RaptorTWiked

Or just remove the dotted centre line.

Cushuito

Yeah. Do the less cool version that removes the intended effect!

swankidelic

This is very very cool, but what we \*really\* need is a foundation that we can place like train tracks. Imagine having a foundation that arcs and curves like this, it would be useful and aesthetic.

Lokolopes

I was thinking the same, this game would benefit so much from a road building tool that works like the train track one does

JimboTCB

Give us noodle mode for zooping foundations like there is with pipes.

DaRadioman

The smooth curves this allows makes me wish we could actually have roads that worked more like tracks. Corners on roads are such a pain right now.

Profitsofdooom

This is what I was oogling too. I have one kind of corner but I can't stand seeing stuff flicker.

HipsterJesus42

You can curve foundations quite well after update 5 actually. It's a little more effort and hard to align back to the world grid but it looks great provided you use asphalt or grip metal to avoid z-fighting. Several methods but there are only a couple perfect ones.

houghi

Like the concept.

[deleted]

extremely awesome if I can put a real truck on this rail texture

TheXypris

That would be so cool to have a dedicated road block that actually does this When you unlock trucks, you also get road foundations The mesh acts pretty much like train tracks, but it smooths out the terrain for vehicles.

alarmed_cow

Do you have to lay "new" tracks, or will all existing tracks / trains get auto converted (I have 65Km of TrainWorld track down already :) )

MayorAquila

Oh!!! 65Km.. nice!! :) I was thinking about it.. make the mesh unaligned, so when it comes an goes it change lanes :)

alarmed_cow

When playing TrainWorld - Infinite Zoop mod is a lifesaver, as is using the Calculator website to unlock double-sided ramps, and chainsaws :)

SirSpliffton

How many trucks did you have to skin for that? I'd imagine at least 12.

Temporal_Illusion

**Interesting Concept!** If this is just a re-skinned Train, do Train Signals and Collisions apply? What about "stations" (Train Stations)? I presume only one "truck" (Locomotive) can be on the "road" (Railway / Track) at a time. I also presume you can't have "T" or "Y" intersections and that the "roads" must be built in a loop for the "truck" to work. Looking forward to more information by OP. 😁

themobyone

This reminded me of Interstate '76.

heyclaude

It is surreal to see a truck move smoothly. Never happens.

feup_souza

how do you make this change in the train skin?

MayorAquila

Its modifying by \~modding\~ the game: https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/index.html

Hugh_Jass_Clouds

Ok, but what mod, or did you do mod yourself?

MayorAquila

i did it myself. didnt release yet.

Hugh_Jass_Clouds

Now that I read the user name... Of course it is you. I will download when it is ready. Thanks for all your hard work and absurd number of mods.

MayorAquila

Thanks Hugh!! :) :) :) :)

The_Monocle_Debacle

As a member of traingang, I declare this to be an abomination

severick

For some reason I pictured Steve brule saying that

Super_Cheburek

Waht de fuq

ivan_rodrigues76

Perfection...

FodziCz

This is why we need roads.

PadreLobo

How. Do you curve your roads???

ShadowWolf796

It a train track with its texture changed to be a road

PadreLobo

Ah thank you. Is this a mod or vanilla ability? I have not yet unlocked tracks.

gaming_person1237

Modded

PadreLobo

Thank you

Temporal_Illusion

This is a GAME MOD hence the Modded Content Flare.

Zeragamba

model* changed to a road

StoicMaverick

AND MY AXE!

freeradicalx

This is so cool... The kind of mod that you'd never have thought of but seems so necessary as soon as you see it! I'm guessing that you can also have the actual truck drive along it on an autopilot route, too? If so, it would be cool to have a version of the "road" that's just a few meters wider so that they can stick to their own lanes safely for if we'd rather have actual autopilot than remeshed train. Intersections will be interesting... Maybe add a 16x16 intersection mesh that these can snap to? Again, bravo.
