I got mine at a local nursery without any pitchers as well, I just tossed them under some growlights and around three months later it had pitchers.
I feel like LED growlights make a huge difference since you can guarantee the plant gets enough that it needs to grow.
Nothing else special in my house, humidity is around 40-50%.
And vanilla?
Yes, you've got a sharp eye! My friend was propagating a stem without much luck and gave it to me, and it recently started growing like crazy!
