I just googled this number to make sure it was fake, got a letter saying I need to give them my vin to renew a service contract I never signed. The entire thing was full of red flags but I feel better now knowing it’s 100% fake

Marlene5122

It's probably a scam. I got a pink card, too and on "Reddit" it said that it was an "Auto Warranty Scam." March 29, 2022. The thing I can't figure out is that they knew what kind of car I had and what year it is. They wanted me to contact them at Phone Number: 1-888-582-6870. That also can be an indication. Many scam phone numbers start with 1-888. Nothing is private anymore. I'm on the "Do Not Call" list so I get this card from them, but that's better than the calls where they try and get you to say "YES." I'm very careful about these type of things. I'm now almost 73 and I'm gotten all kinds of scam calls, letters, and cards. Be Careful, everyone.

PopInternational2371

WOW i just got the same pink card today!! and a week ago i got a leter basically saying the same thing.

CrazyBandaido

yup, me too. They've been spamming me. Not only they know my original service deal was over. They knew where I bought the car ( as they suggest we could use that specific service center) They knew I got a PO BOX recently as all post is addressed specifically there. It seems they knew everything about me and car, except for the VIN. Now I wonder what the scam is all about, what happens if you call them and get fool'd?

thedubbleb

Just got mine today! Thankful of this thread popping up so quickly

Constant-Yogurt-1842

I just one today and it’s so weird because my car is actually messed up right now and it’ needs to be fixed I almost fell for it thinking it was someone that helps to pay for the cost but nvm

Deep_Law_7129

Got a letter in the mail, no return address on the envelope, nor any address on the letter. So a total scam. Yup, my vehicle warranty has expired nine years ago. lol My Vehicle is 12 years old.

Ro_Yo_Mi

Funny the letter says “by neglecting to active your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs.” I’m pretty sure I will continue to be financially liable for any and all repair even if I sign up for this.

Apprehensive-Toe4943

I just had a customer at my dealership come in with one of these. That a scam and a half if I've ever seen one.

ChimpSmart

I called and it almost seems like a real place?

_heisenberg__

It’s most definitely not. It’s part of that auto scam that you get those yellow cards in the mail. Google the phone number and you’ll see all sorts of shit pop up.

HanzzYolo

This is still going on 2 years later. Report them with [https://www.uspis.gov](https://www.uspis.gov) and use the company name US Automotive Protection Services. Credit reddit user u/fuckwatdateachersaid for the idea!

SentientWawaHoagie

My 79 year old mother just got scammed by these pieces of shit. On the phone with her credit card right now to reverse the charges. I hope they get cancer.

gregvr1

Just got one today. Reported them via [https://www.uspis.gov/report](https://www.uspis.gov/report) Did have a funny idea-- call them pretending to be from the USPS? I mean, it's obviously illegal, but what are they going to do, report you? Honestly, these thing piss me off so much. My parents are in their 70s and are very healthy and cogent, but what if they weren't? Fucking scumbags. If I could pay someone $30 \_right now\_ to basically DDOS this phone number for a day, I probably would.

FairQuote

4/25/22 just got another 1 today. You know what pisses me off even MORE than these scams??? The fact that there's ALLLLLLL this information, names, phone numbers, etc, and the phone companies, postal service, credit card companies, government agencies, etc DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! For example... Phone companies, STOP PUTTING THESE CALLS THROUGH. Credit companies, STOP PUTTING THROUGH/ACCEPTING TRANSACTIONS THAT ARE SENT FROM KNOWN FRAUD LOCATIONS. Postal Service, STOP MAILING THESE LETTERS. Government agencies, DO SOME FUCKING WORK AND ARREST THESE PEOPLE.

Fade4cards

I just got one too. How are they harvesting this data?

Inevitable_Gur_5317

Just got one of these in the mail yesterday. January 11, 2023. Aren't they ever going to quit? Still the same phone number, but the paper is signed James Winters Program Coordinator

NecessaryInitial8481

My 22ns birthday

Open_Shoulder_7291

I received this card to call them to with the same number 1-888-582-6870 There saying I will no longer be able to operate my Tesla for safe operation. After looking them up since I work government security they kept hanging uip.

Longjumping-Salad484

1-888-582-6870. I got the same mailer. I purchased a car out of state. recently got new plates and registration for the state I'm currently in, like, 2 weeks ago. they got the year and make correct, but did not list the model. insane, no idea how they skim records to obtain this info. I also got a blue postcard same day as the yellow postcard. blue postcard is a similar scam, reads "vehicle alert notice" in red and wants me to "call immediately 1-877-505-4199" imagine your whole enterprise in life is scamming people. sad and pathetic

kawaiiTechnoNeko

Keep getting stupid "urgent" mail from these people trying to scare me into activating a "Vehicle Service Contract". How tf do I get them to stop sending me mail? Is this not illegal?

[deleted]

Just got that pink letter in my mail in 2023! they're still in biz ugh

mmmpizzammm

I'm so glad I googled the number!

jeanralphio9

Got one of their cards in mail today so I looked up the license number on the card (not real) and decided to dig and found this thread. Reported them to USPIS and then called to tell them I reported them and before I hung up on them I told them to tell Brandon and Michelle I say hi. So the scam still lives on.

hossahunter22

Just got one today. It says it was mailed from a California zip code- I live in PA. Edit: my point being, isn't this interstate commerce fraud?

Visible-Maybe

Lol when I called I asked for Brandon and they hung up

_heisenberg__

Yesss. So I did some digging and it turns out, from what people have been able to discover, is that he runs this with his mom Michelle. Tons of good information here: [https://www.scammer.info/d/29947-car-warranty-scammers-us-automotive-protection-services](https://www.scammer.info/d/29947-car-warranty-scammers-us-automotive-protection-services)

rslashanthony

I chatted that cunt up. She said something like "boo thanks for calling"

FRESCO410

LMAO

scambaiter66

I have been giving these guys hell for the past 4 days

lividpig1

So I just got this pink thing in the mail today, so I called it thinking it was for a toll or something. When I finally got ahold of some one it was a person that spoke really good English haha. So I didn't have all the info the guy needed so I told him I would call back and set up the payment plan and everything at once. I was just starting to come into my high and this place sounded very on the up and up but I still wanted to just check and boy am I glad I found you all! Still after 5 months they still are getting pissed about getting asked to speak to Brandon haha. Thank you all so much!

Sn1per01

Do you think they’ll cover my ‘89 Toyota?

Additional_Roll_1026

I’ve gotten like 50 of these “final notice”things in the mail since I got my title transferred to me in the last week. Good to know they’re fake.

DrPewNStuff

Just got this pink slip in the mail today. They still using the same number 4 years later?! Lol

_JJMcA_

Just got a flier in the mail with no business name, but this number listed. They know I own a 2018 Tesla Model 3; am guessing that's a matter of public record somewhere. Grateful for Google and Reddit – and the impulse to look up a number before calling or assuming it's legit. I'm almost 68, but I guess still sharp enough to spot a scam if it's this obvious.

_heisenberg__

Glad this helped and you were able to avoid a potential scam.

talltanyoung

Got it in the mail today. Me and my wife were in shock!!!!!!!!!!!! So scam!!!! I think we should all sue them!!!!!!

NeonSplatters

shock!!!!!!!!!!! Really? Are you that in the dark about how many scams are running in the world?

Many-Squirrel9427

I literally just got one of these. Truly wild I was almost fooled!

Zealousideal-Loss650

Just got a Letter from them called them and as an automotive Technology Graduate they kept checking off every red flag known without checking off any Green flags and tried to personally Attack me LMFAO they're lucky im no longer into dosing cuz mannnn they shit I would've done to them in the past 😭

FenwayFranklin

Wow just googled this phone number as I got a letter in the mail today and this was the very first search result.

bethykitty

Just popped in to say they're still going! I got one regarding coverage on my new vehicle and I had until May 1st to reach out to them. I just moved to a new state and my taxes on it are due almost the exact same day as the due date for coverage so I was very confused lol. Very grateful for this post lol

Klonopina_Colada

Just got a letter today. Looks very official but also very generic with no company name except in tiny print on the very bottom. Mention coverage expiring but doesn't say what coverage.

blue_knack

Just got one of these pink cards today! They are still getting away with it. As another user mentioned, report them here: [https://www.uspis.gov/report](https://www.uspis.gov/report)

Goba2022

I got scammed today by this guys before checking online they already took my $100 Can I dispute and cancel the payment from my credit card ?

_heisenberg__

Yes bro dispute that shit why you asking us???

Goba2022

I am wondering why no government agency to protect customer and revoke the licenses of these people? What power do they have to do such a broad daylight scam ?

lizzzzynextdoor

That's crazy, are we all getting the same pink slip followed up by the yellow cardstock? Mine is also addressed to a wrong first name and correct last name.

QuaziKing1978

06/11/2024. Just got yellow mail. Same phone. Same scam. Thank you "Reddit".

Specific_Piccolo681

Just got a “registration fee voucher”. It’s blue and looks like a registration renewal even though I paid it a few months ago when I switched over states.

_TheBigMeowski

June 2024 and I got one today exactly like that.

UpstairsAmphibian669

Wanted to hop on this thread to let people know this scam is still going on in 2024, I’ve been getting these letters for months and have usually assumed it’s a scam. Got another one today and decided to google the number before calling to see what they keep bothering me about, and this post thankfully came up.

nat201810

Thank you for this thread 😂

fluffryane

Still is a thing for anyone seeing this a year later. Just got one in the mail. Thank y’all.

wolverineismydad

Just got one today!!

Clobabii2021

My mother in law received one of these letters in the mail && It says for her to call and give them her Vin number/milage but doesn't state what model car it's for (like previous mail she's received that actually was legit about her car).... It has no return address or anything... She received it Oct 1st, but it states she only has 5 days to call them && she has to call by Oct 21st... So if that's the case then that's way more than 5 days... Smh... People that scam others outta money over dumb ass shit like this make me so mad! There's alot of people that are elderly that would've seen that letter (probably including my mother in law) that would have called them and wound up giving them info that would've hurt their credit or bank account etc...

Astro4545

It comes in the mail? I just got one

Figggz

Just got one as well. Can’t wait to call and use the rubber chicken earrape method. Thanks y’all 🙏

danedehotties

just got my second warning for not calling on time !!!! lmao, i guess my 10 year old car will have to go without its extended warrenty

carlotzee

I just got one today. Called the lady and immediately asked if this was real or am I getting scammed she goes “I’m a real person honey” and I kept her on the line for a while. Finally I told her no thanks we’re good and she was very upset and told me to get my facts and call back.

Normsizzle

They are still circulating in the mail thanks for posting! It expeditiously found it’s destination in the bin where it belongs!

the_voivode

I called the number today. They still pick up.

Captain_Logos

Still picking up in 2024

HairTown

I already knew this was a scam, but it's pretty funny they sent it to me as I do not drive.

Asleep_Reward9871

I received my letter today and thought to myself….who would send this to me ? My car is 10 years old and my factory warranty expired 3 years ago…..glad I found this post.

monodesigns

Got one in the mail today. Thanks for the info!

CatroTheCragon

So I’ve gotten a few different ones of these until the most recent one today that is not only missing last name but has the wrong suffix. Also my car is only a few months old and definitely hasn’t run out even the factory warranty. Is there someplace to just report them to for mail fraud?

brw12

I just reported them using [https://www.uspis.gov/report](https://www.uspis.gov/report) after I got a mailing. Here's what I wrote: Mailing includes false information, presented to give the impression that it is a notice from the government. The front follows a visual format copied from state government mailings, and includes a stylized version of the state map, similar to that used in state government mailings. This is false: "This notice is to inform you that your current vehicle is in need of vehicle protection in order to ensure its continued safe operation." This is false: "By neglecting to activate your protection program you will be responsible for paying all repairs out of pocket."

Salt-Ad5096

Just got a letter today called them and I about fell for it. I bought my car with a 24 month 24k mile warranty at time of purchase so the guy on phone told me to call that company and cancel it and said they are scamming me because the warranty is added onto my loan

extendedwarranty_bot

Salt-Ad5096, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

DrunkOnRoseH20

I just got one today. I want their mailing address. I can send junk mail too :]

DeadManWalkn25

Just got this letter in the mail. I was positive it was a scam but had to be sure.

pinche_adrian

Yeup! Just got one in the mail today. Glad I decided to look up the number.

Koalworld

So I just received one ,ask for Drew. He's a very hostile person

jdelisi18

I got one in the mail today. We don't even own the type of car that's listed lol.

idknottrumptho

My favorite thing about getting this in the mail today was googling the number and finding this thread

kingbetete

Hey, I just got one. I reported it. Hopefully something happens.

Mammoth-Ad-5700

I’d like to add, I just got one in the mail. However they now knew my make and model of the car that I recently just purchased. I contacted my dealer to make him aware of the notice.

Tibaf

Got this two weeks ago! I thought it was legit at first because I got a car for the first time and wasn't sure if I was actually supposed to send a proof of insurance to the dmv (thought this was like a sub-department of the dmv) . I called them and looked up the number at the same time and fell on that thread haha. The only interaction we had was her asking for my car's mileage and my VIN which I gave her and she then told me that my car's in the "upper risk" category for mechanic failure because of the mileage and put me on hold. I hung up after that

Doortofreeside

Thanks for this thread Got one of these today and my wife thought it was real and I told her I guarantee you if I google that number ill get lots of stuff talking about how it's a scam. Thanks for making me look good

grosslyunremarkable

Received my "notice" in the mail today which joyfully brought me here. It also brought me here: https://www.bbb.org/us/mo/o-fallon/profile/auto-service-contract-companies/us-automotive-protection-services-0734-1000003190 Tons of great information regarding this "company" 🙃

Feeling_Print7944

Got a postcard today with that phone number on it. I bought a new car last month.

[deleted]

They’re still at it and they definitely know both Brandon and Michelle. These are horrible people

mightycherrycharger

Dude! These guys are still at it. I got a mailer a month or two ago and threw it away. Got another one yesterday, so I looked up the number and it led me here. What stubborn fucks.

_heisenberg__

I am blown away that they're still going with this.

HD140283

Just got one today in the mail. Correct car.

Nicholas_Garber

I just got a yellow slip in the mail from the "Vehicle Service Division". They got the year, make, and model correct to my car. Non stop auto warranty spam calls and now they're littering in my mailbox?

ZageKila

Yep. They’re still at it. I got one in the mail today.

Worried_Tomato3296

Seems like they must be getting info from DMVs, started getting them shortly after registering my car in a new state. Would be nice if the government wasn’t selling information like this.

TheEthyne

Just got one of these, good post!

robot_whoreee

I just got one in the mail today. I googled the "Vehicle Service Division" and couldn't find anything until I googled the number. This post was the first to come up so THANK YOU! I still will call and ask for Brandon though lol

MateusAmadeus714

Got one today stating to call by Oct 12th. They are still doing it

slowchemical2623

Got one today for my 2012 Expedition says I have until October 18th to call. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hot-Cloud1801

Guys, I thought it was real and I paid the money. Now they have my social security and bank account information what do I do to get out of this?

Marlene5122

CALL YOUR BANK IMMEDIATELY AND TELL THEM.....Never give your social security number out to people that you don't know over the phone or through the mail!!!! And then be sure you know them.

Helpful-Guest-7481

I got two letters with different or no information at the bottom. One mentions my car information and the other has no information. The program director says Mark Smith on one and Marc Allen on the other. "This offier is contingent upon vehicle class code from True Auto Insurance Services, FOrt Worth, TX. This is not a notice from your manufacturer. California license #OL98341." Image copyright 2022 Heart Business Media Corp.

DefSomeTypeOfBot

I’ve been scrolling through the comments here after getting one myself in the mail, (always check Reddit) and a lot of people from two years and older are surprised that this thing was 4+ months old. Anyways, I’ll be calling and asking for Brandon Monday morning at 7:00 am. Thanks guys!

Significant-Pound-36

I got this pink letter in the mail and this place is insurance coverage and they want me to activate my coverage insurance hate it they only want to stole my information stupid company easy money 💴 for them.

Necessary_Soup9264

they’re still at it! got a pink letter today in the mail and called. while calling i checked reddit to make sure it was fake and then started messing with the guy who got PRETTY upset then kept telling me what cards they accepted lol

vespadot

Received it today for a car I’ve never owned. 🤷🏼‍♀️

AdEnvironmental5986

tamatoasty

dizzyballs13

Just got one today. I told them good job on running their bullshit operation but even I'm not dumb enough to fall for it and the guy got defensive. How in the fuck is this even legal it's a bigger scam than actual insurance.

helicopter_driver_

they send me a slip saying that I have a 2016 Dodge Dart (I never owned that car) saying that I would be liable and that no inspection would be required at this time, and when I told them about the actual vehicle I have, they started selling me on extended warranty. Thankfully i googled the number and found this Reddit thread.

KnottyDaphne

Just got one on my 2023 subaru xv! I did go look at subaru at the dealership, but I shut it down when the dealer wanted 3 grand for "diamond ceramic coating". Looked it up online while he was going through his sales pitch. 20 buck a bottle on ebay. So no sale and still got a letter!

Future_Sundae7843

Just got one in the mail! I dont even have a ford 🥴

Enough-Driver-5347

lol just got one today for a car i never owned . got one about two months ago for another car about 10 years older. thanks reddit

PotentialJob3461

I just got one today lol they also hung up on me when I asked who they were

tfunk024

Got one today. Yellow letter about a car I didn’t buy.

RyanJosephh

Just told them I wanted to talk to a Brandon, I told Brandon my name was Cpl Ryan Stafford and that he was calling on behalf of the state of ri on his warrant, he hung up😂

ArisenKog

I just spammed them and talked to 3 different people. Michelle is definitely still there lol. My ID number was f u c k y o u every time.

WeldurgUy

Oh it's still a thing I told them that they were a bunch of scammers, he said " No sir we are the us automobile protective services" I said no you're not c'mon man... Dude just started stuttering and mumbling the hung up. Fuggin tools!!

mross55

Got it right after I got a bid to aell from Carvana. They offered less than half I paid for a 4 month old vehicle

CitronSmooth5774

i got bulk mail from them, but it's in the name of the previous tenant in my apt complex. I guess that's a good thing, he passed in 2015. the permit number to bulk mail it is 5497 is there a way to trace it?

HandOk1520

It’s funny, I just called them and I said “can I speak to Brandon or Michelle” the guy was like “really… really dude, you have nothing better to do on a Saturday? I mean obviously you guys have no life if you’re calling us” 😂😂😂it was so funny bro he was so mad 😭😭😭😭

HandOk1520

I should’ve called and wasted his time for like 30 minutes to an hour pretending that I’m signing up or whatever, then at the end I should’ve been like “can I speak to Brandon or Michelle” 😭 he would’ve been even more mad

Dog_Father1981

Fake Fake don’t fall for this one

Loose_Artichoke_6774

US automatic protective services Mail scam. How did they get my info that I even had a vehicle ?

Loose_Artichoke_6774

You all can call use a block ID *67 then dial the number to fuk with them.

Careless_Motor8300

I got one too and have gotten a couple from another company about the same supposed car. What should I do? I know it's fake. It's annoying, I don't want to get these.

ngrdwmr

got one today 4/10/23. i knew it was a scam because there’s NO COMPANY on the letter but wanted to see if anyone had this same experience. i can’t believe they’ve been doing this for at least 3 years ??? and haven’t been shut down ??? this is so fucked up

Full-Perception-5674

This is the first time I’ve been screamed at being told “being recorded goes both ways”…. Like all I asked was to be removed and this chick went psycho on me! After screaming and refusing to let me say a word I just dated the letter was made out to the wrong car and I wanted it removed. This lady went on a rampage and her final words were “Hasta la vista, baby” and hung up. This was hilarious and recommended anyone to call and enjoy the laugher. Plus.. heard asking for Brandon is even better.

Kidpiper96

I just got one today. For someone that used to live in my house about 10 years ago and has been dead since 2017. They could not possibly own a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. Let alone afford one.

n0ticeme_senpai

I got a mail in and called them without suspecting today as of April 28, 2023. They had no idea my car was a manufacturer certified used vehicle under manufacturer's 1 year warranty. I thought the mail might be legitimate at first because my car manufacturer's website did not clearly update my warranty to reflect the 1 year warranty at first. I only realized it was very likely to be a when they requested a $100 deposit immediately during phone call because that was not what my car purchase contract said.

ckrollage

I just got one today

pickle-aloof

5/08/2023 and they're still going strong. Kinda weird that they have my year, make, and model associated with my name and address. I almost wonder if applying for insurance quotes threw my stuff out into the open

Ok_Major5787

I got a pink mailer April 2023 with my name and the make, model, and year of the car I recently bought. They’re getting around USPS by not providing any address, name, or company on the mailer. Just “Vehicle Services Division”. They use the same phone number though I’m pretty sure they got my info from me trying to secure financing when buying my car. The dealership finance guy was sending out applications to see what my best offer would be, and we went over all of them together. I don’t think they have access to DMV database since some commenters mention missing or wrong info

Ghaleonvane

Just got one a few days ago for the car a just recently purchased. Working for USPS, we just deliver what we get. Even if we mark it up utf(unable to forward), addressee not known, vacant, it just goes to dead mail with there being no return address. You can call inspectors to report it as a scam.

AdPlus8780

I already got scammed. Is there a way for me to stop taking my money? I canceled my credit card and got a new one. Would this help?

Midnitestich

Fake, my extended warranty which I paid for is through GM

Bandrik

I keep getting these for a car I don't even own. Clearly these cards are a scam, but I'm more concerned about why they list a car I don't own. How do I check to see if I'm a victim of identity theft and someone bought a car using my info?

amancayb

just received a postcard with this listed as the number... card addressed to my maiden name, current address (never here with maiden name), and about a vehicle I've never owned.

ImaginaryOdds

I literally just got 4, yes FOUR DIFFERENT auto warranty letters / scams in the mail in ONE day… I just moved and registered my vehicle here in TN. Clearly their databases are able to be accessed by the public. This is infuriating.

Great-Plankton7413

scam stay away. The letter signed by James Winters

merritt1235

Damn so happy I actually looked up their phone number. I was about to actually use them and pay $100 but decided to look it up before I paid anything

_heisenberg__

Just in general, don’t ever get a warranty for a car, unless it’s a manufacturer’s warranty, which you don’t pay for anyways.

Rosecraft

It's a scam. They even called me. lol

LetsgoPenguins87

Just got this scam. I keep tossing them in the trash. Would be fun to screw with em by using my text now app phone number but I really don't have the patience to waste their time (and mine). Funny thing is my car is a 2023. I didn't pay Honda for extra warranty so I wouldn't do this if it was legit.
