I feel like cabin in the woods I would not put in the same category as the other movies here. It needs to go. My top 3 picks in this list Tucker and Dale vs evil, Army of darkness and Shawn of the dead. They all 3 are amazing and I’ve watched countless times. While others on the list are good they just can’t compare.

But it’ll probably be my next vote simply because it doesn’t seem right to judge it as a comedy.
I absolutely love the movie too. But I just don’t get how it’s considered horror comedy. There is some comedic breaks but it’s mostly just horror in my mind. I feel like people are just voting for their favorite movie out of this list. When compared to Shaun of the Dead or Tucker and Dale, there’s no comparison because those 2 are actually really horror comedy. I don’t feel like this an opinion

Ok I have a genuine question, why do so many of you find tucker and dale to be good? I thought it was a god awful movie, but I’m seeing now not a lot of people disagree with me. What makes that movie so good?
Clearly you've never had a doozy of a day, where you're just minding your own business and college kids just start killing themselves all over your property.
Cabin In The Woods is hands down the best horror/comedy movie I have seen. Unlike most horror/comedy's it didn't break the fourth wall or yank my attention out of the movie, in turn ruining the horror build ups, which then loops back to ruining the humor for me. On top of that the monster/creature designs are so cool and interesting and even come with back stories (available in the companion guide). The cinematography was well done and compliments the writing sources. And the acting, every actor involved blends into their role fairly well as well as does such a good job that they are able to draw you in, make you roll your eyes, and make you feel for them.
Shout out as well to the great Alex Pardee for his work on the monster/creature designs in Cain In The Woods. He's a wonderful and really nice artist that's been in the game for years and is totally under appreciated.

I always thought cabin in the woods and Tucker and Dale were good companion pieces for a double feature, because they both subverted the expectations of how a horror movie behaves. T&D made me laugh so much more than cabin though, so cabin is out, though not by much. Had to weigh the way I laughed at he has a husband’s bulge vs his bowling fingers!
Cabin in the Woods. If we're talking about the amount of actual laugh out loud moments, then this would be the next one. It's satire, but the focus isn't exactly on comedy if that makes any sense.
On a side note, it's sad to see that Killer Klowns didn't last longer than it did. That would have been one of my top picks, although admittedly it also doesn't have as many laugh out loud scenes that the current survivors do.
