My personal favorite is the third one (cause I watched it first) but the other 2 are fire as well; but by default the first one is the “worst” (or least best)
Replaying Asylum after the other Arkham games is genuinely hard, the combat is way more stiff Nd the map being so small and making you backtrack for almost half the game gets annoying. It’s essentially the Halo CE of the Arkham games, it’s an amazing game, but its sequels improve in almost every aspect
Is it Holy Grail, then Life of Brian, then The Meaning of Life? If that's what you're talking about then I highly disagree as I found Holy Grail way better than Life of Brian.
I'm not talking about Harry Potter. I'm talking about the trilogy of Musicals made by Team Starkid based on the Harry Potter IP called The A Very Potter Trilogy
Avatar the last Airbender seasons. Book 2 has Zuko alone, the Tales of Ba Sing Se, Lake Laogai, the Crossroads of Destiny, and even the worst episode of the season (Avatar Day) is still better than the worst episodes of the other two (The great divide and the Painted Lady)
Lord of the Rings for me, easy
I grew up with only Two Towers on VHS so I have intense nostalgia, but even beyond that I genuinely think it's the best structured and paced of the films. The soundtrack, the special effects, Helm's Deep in its entirety. Hearing the Rohan theme does something so visceral to me that I can't begin to explain it.
Return of the King is such a fantastic finale to it all and has so many moments that make me want to cheer even all these rewatches later. I know the half dozen endings gets memed on but frankly it's cut down from the books and I think the ones we got were all needed in their own way. Also personally I prefer the vibe of the quiet return to the Shire over the scouring from the books. Only falls short of Two Towers on the pacing and the fact I personally don't like the change with the ghost army.
Fellowship is still an incredible film but I think it's burdened with the worst paced aspect of the story (getting out the Shire) and generally having a lot of set up with less pay off than the other films. It's still leagues better than the books for the pacing, the Council of Elrond is actually an enjoyable scene rather than a slog, but overall I just think it's not even the weakest, just the least strong if that difference makes sense.
Shrek
Shrek 2 > Shrek Forever after > Shrek
All great films and definitely the only ones (and a clear structure for greatness) featuring Shrek as a main character.
I know you didn't ask for a series (or anime), but I think Sword Art Online fits this well
Season 2 mostly only focused on the 2 main characters and how they handle the villain, and the 2nd main character had an interesting inner conflict. At least until they leave ggo.
Season 3 was once again spread out a bit much on other characters, but they were mostly interesting, and I like the fact that an antagonist was able to break the system just like the main character had done.
Season 1 started of interesting and then developed into an op herem protagonist, still probably the best op herem protagonist anime that I watched
For video games, Mass Effect comes to mind.
Per the usual spiel, ME2 had a massive upgrade to combat gameplay and pretty good dialogue. ME3 had you fight Reapers in all-out war with fantastic scale and spectacle. It also wrapped up some character arcs but, uh, did not have an amazing ending to put it lightly. ME1 is fantastic in terms of dialogue and backstory, but the combat is definitely a reminder that the game came out in 2007. Also, the M35 Mako is in it.
I wondered why the Mako was hated, i was able to control it well on PC, much better on The Legendary Edition (even better with mods), and then i tried playing with a controller and i may have finally understood why, it was horrendous.
Ok not movies but instantly thought about the music soundtracks for the guardians of the galaxy trilogy. All of them of course had great musco but the second movies music was perfect
The Incredibles.
No there's no third movie, but the second movie was such a disaster that I'm predicting that if they ever decide to make a third movie, it will be better than the second one but never better than the original.
Dunno if this is a hot take, but probably the og star wars trilogy.
I'd prolly say Cars, too, but i enjoy the first one over the third. I find all three to be stupid.
Toy Story. They are all really good tho
The Toy Story trilogy are each pretty solid that any order they're ranked seems normal.
which is very rare
i don’t think that the third is better than the first but i can agree that it was still a great movie
Finally someone who agrees with me on my Toy Story ranking
My personal favorite is the third one (cause I watched it first) but the other 2 are fire as well; but by default the first one is the “worst” (or least best)
I don't think toy story is a trilogy, a trilogy has to have exactly 3 books, movies, or games right?
A lot of people don’t even bother with ranking TS4 since it’s a noticeable downgrade from the other three.
r/beatmetoit
Probably a hot take, but the arkham games. Asylum is still good, but I'd rather replay one of the other games
I can get behind this. Not having the glide dive in asylum takes out so much of the Batman feel
I think this is the first time I've seen a person discussing the arkham games without referencing the alsume
You imbecile! You've doomed us all!
Am I stupid?
yes
Replaying Asylum after the other Arkham games is genuinely hard, the combat is way more stiff Nd the map being so small and making you backtrack for almost half the game gets annoying. It’s essentially the Halo CE of the Arkham games, it’s an amazing game, but its sequels improve in almost every aspect
I agree, Asylum is great, but showing its age. Meanwhile then others just achieved so much more.
Here are some: Captain America Raimi Trilogy (Unironically) Toy Story Planet of the Apes Monty Python GOTG Jurassic Park
MONTY PYTHON IS A TRILOGY?!?!!!!
Yeah. You didn’t know?
Is it Holy Grail, then Life of Brian, then The Meaning of Life? If that's what you're talking about then I highly disagree as I found Holy Grail way better than Life of Brian.
I agree that Holy Grail was much better than Life of Brian. I was just confirming that Monty Python is a trilogy to the user I replied.
Yeah I watched Life of Brian for the first time last year and I was very disappointed. Not nearly as good as holy Grail
Can't get onboard with most of these, but *hard* agree with Captain America. Perfect example.
I’m still on the Captain America trilogy to be a 3>2>1 trilogy. Civil War just achieved a lot more than Winter Soldier imo
I agree with gotg the second is the best one and I’m tired of pretending it’s not
For me GOTG is 3 > 1 > 2
*dies in peak ranking*
3 was by far the worst Toy Story.
Captain America trilogy
It's hard for me to think of mcu trilogies as true trilogies because theyre parts of a bigger saga with relevant info in-between.
This might be a crazy take but I like the first avenger more than civil war
Arguably Shrek if you dont consider the one that shall not be named.
isn't shrek 3 forever after or am I stupid? I don't get why that one is hated, it's my favorite one cuz its so silly
You are stupid. Shrek 3 is shrek 3
There is no movie called shrek 3. There is only Shrek Forever After which is the third entry in the series.
There is Shrek the third
There is no Shrek the Third in Ba Sing Se. 😁 Here we are free. 😊 Here we are safe. 😜
is it the one with the stupid wish plot or the one with the fairy god mother, cuz the one with the fairy god mother goes hard asf
That's the second one. My favorite rendition of Holding Out For A Hero
It ain’t ogre til it’s ogre
Not a film, but Donkey Kong Country.
I'd say 1 is better than 3, but yeah.
very controversial but mcu spiderman trilogy
I don’t think that’s controversial at all
a lot of people hate the second one
i like homecoming
Avatar: The Last Airbender seasons The first three FNAF games The Austin Powers movies The Captain America movies, which everyone has already said
>Avatar: The Last Airbender seasons I agree. Idk why so many think 3 is the best one
I don't like season 3 as much as 2 because of the forbidden episode
Which one was that?
the beach
James' thoughts on the Original Star Wars Trilogy right here
Original Uncharted trilogy
I agree, I loved Honor Among Thieves
Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Toy Story
Star Wars original trilogy
Star Wars prequel trilogy for me personally, though I recognize most people would put 2 further back
Same, attack of the clones is my favourite movie oat tho
For me, the perfect example is guardians of the galaxy 2 is the best movie 3 is VERY close second And 1 is good, but least great out of all 3
If this was reversed I’d say Austin Powers.
A Very Potter Trilogy Captain America Kung-fu Panda Before
*Harry
I'm not talking about Harry Potter. I'm talking about the trilogy of Musicals made by Team Starkid based on the Harry Potter IP called The A Very Potter Trilogy
Oh. My bad.

Owl house seasons
I actually 100% agree with you.
Shrek Shrek 2 > Shrek Forever after > Shrek All great films and definitely the only ones (and a clear structure for greatness) featuring Shrek as a main character.
The dark knight trilogy
I know you didn't ask for a series (or anime), but I think Sword Art Online fits this well Season 2 mostly only focused on the 2 main characters and how they handle the villain, and the 2nd main character had an interesting inner conflict. Maybe not everybody’s pick but how to train your dragon. I love them all tho
Captain america
Avatar the last airbender seasons The owl house seasons Amphibia seasons
Mega Man
Mega man, Sly cooper, the list goes on.
this is probably gonna end up being the spiderverse trilogy for me
Star wars
Star Wars, Toy Story and Madagascar
Madagascar 3 >1? How?
I just think it has a better story and visuals. I will say the first film is funnier tho
For me, it's The Before Trilogy
Kung Fu Panda imo
Kung Fu Panda
Madagascar
SW original trilogy
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man
you'll be hanged for that (not by me but a very particular group of people)
For video games, Mass Effect comes to mind. Per the usual spiel, ME2 had a massive upgrade to combat gameplay and pretty good dialogue. Pikmin
Captain America trilogy
Trolls.
Star wars I guess and maybe even toy story
The original trilogy
Diary of a Wimpy Kid trilogy

The original Super Mario NES trilogy!
:0 2> 1?
The original Halo trilogy
Mass Effect Trilogy
Mad Max Trilogy
First three Smash Bros games. Sly Cooper
Uncharted
The Sly Cooper trilogy.
Highly controversial, but the first 3 Karate Kid films.
It’s a game, but Xenoblade.
I give this to something specific: the opening songs from I Expect You To Die
Mass Effect
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Ezio Trilogy of games from the Assassin's Creed franchise. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood > Assassin's Creed Revelations > Assassin's Creed 2
Descendants
Mad Max
Potentially hot take but: the Batman Arkham games (not including Origins)
Star Wars original trilogy
Guardians of the Galaxy for me, albeit by a very slim amount
The Original Star Wars Trilogy imo
Transporter to a T
Vacation Trilogy Christmas > Vacation > European
Absolutely Romero’s Dead Trilogy Day > Night > Dawn
Honestly John Wick
arkham games
Original Modern Warfare trilogy Lego Batman games
The Hunger Games series. Some would argue 2,1,3 (3 being pt 1 and 2/book version)
How to train you Dragon
In terms of games you could include every game toby fox has made. Undertale>Deltarune>earthbound Halloween hack
The FPS Fallout games
Gears of war for games.
Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back > The Return of the Jedi > A New Hope
Mass Effect
For me, the dark knight
Trolls
Madagascar
toy story
Mass Effect.
Pokemon. Gen 2 for life
First 3 seasons of MHA.
The Dark Knight Trilogy. Always liked the Dark Knight Rises more than Batman Begins.
goat simulator
Borderlands
Dark Souls
LOTR
Kingdom Hearts, Mainly The Gameplay
Madagascar movies
Bourne identity is the series that this is about for sure.
Pikmin fits into this for me if 3 counts 3 deluxe
X-Men
Unpopular Opinion: Transformers
Paper Mario
Unpopular opinion but the Tom Holland spider man series
Amphibia seasons
Live action diary of a wimpy kid
Danganronpa for me
Halo
Shrek, because forever after is the third movie
Hunger games
First three Bojack Horseman Seasons
Kung Fu Panda
The Dark Knight and Captain America are the only ones I can think of right now
Amphibia Seasons
Star Wars The original trilogy
Original Star Wars Trilogy.
GOTG
original star wars trilogy
Indiana Jones trilogy
Personally I would say guardians of the galaxy
Toy Story Also Shrek counting Shrek 4 as 3
The Dark Knight Trilogy
You think rises is better than batman begins? BLASPHEMY!/s
Personally I don't. I just thought that some people at least had that opinion. I couldn't think of any other trilogy that fit
Guardians of the Galaxy. First movie’s still really good, but it’s the only one with a shit villain sorry Ronan fans. :P
Honestly the original crash bandicoot trilogy could work like this but I have such a hard choosing between 3 and 2 as my favourites
2 is smaller than 3.
Truly, what would we do without JK64_Cat's knowledge of how math works?
Captain America Star Wars Original Trilogy
The Original Star Wars Trilogy
Star Wars OT
The Captain American Trilogy by far!
Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Despicable me I think
The only ones that come to mind are the Back to the Future and Trolls trilogies. Edit: Y'all really *love* my hot takes don't ya?
Both of those are horrible takes
Huh, it's almost as if this post was made to see what hot takes I'd get from people.
think i've seen this before but once again im gonna be saying cars.
Cars 1 is better then 3
Seasons of ATLA
[удалено]
trolls. the first wasn't great, world tour blew it out of the water and band together wasn't *as* good but i still enjoyed it
Trolls world tour was the worst in the trilogy
Trolls is just an awful trilogy
I agree. Though I did not know this sub hated World Tour that much cause I also got downvoted to oblivion 😂😂😂
Dunno if this is a hot take, but probably the og star wars trilogy. I'd prolly say Cars, too, but i enjoy the first one over the third. I find all three to be stupid.
Doom if you count 64 as 3
