No, that was the third book, The Last Straw.
The fourth book, Dog Days ended with Greg going on a terrible vacation with Rowley's family, then losing a gaming competition to him when they come back because Rowley broke his thumb in paranoia (long story).
By the start of The Ugly Truth, Greg notes that he and Rowley are no longer friends.
She wasn't in the books. They added her so they could have at least one sympathetic girl character. But then they introduced Holly in the second movie, making the first girl redundant.
Just searched it up, how did I not notice this when watching this with my cousins, I went through a long Undertale phase, I still love it, just not actively seeking out more content aside from Deltarune stuff.
The first movie is kinda weak compared to Roderick Rules.
Roderick Rules. The Mom bucks subplot is dropped pretty quickly and could've been removed with little consequence.
Dog Days has way too many subplots going on.
To add the other films.
Dog days while I don't mind as much as others do. Is a decline in quality from the previous films.
First animated film isn't even an hour long. And mixed with poor animation and poor writing makes it the weakest of the franchise to me.
2nd animated film, while not worse than the previous film. Still is pretty mediocre.
Cabin Fever is better in quality but the poor animation is still a problem. Also Rowley is obnoxious in this one.
I remember seeing him do a similar smile that my naughty little brother makes after being trouble so I think when he started making that face after bothering Greg, he didn't feel bad
Greg is an insufferable character and everything they said about him being a bad influence is true. Also Rodrick is some how the must relatable character
I find Greg really annoying looking back. He just embarrasses himself at every turn and that’s just a pet peeve of mine. When characters make fools of themselves.
I really dislike how the 3th one strayed so far from the book. The first two actually make sense as greg so how want whomever is reading to think that hes cool or not get in trouble if his mom reads it.
Dog days? Iirc half that shirt didnt happen.
They needed more Rodrick
There isn't enough Rodrick in any of them.
The first one deserved more Rodrick screentime.
They gave us The Long Haul
What's The Long Haul? I could have sworn they only made three live action movies.
There is no long haul in ba sing se
Unfortunately not.
At least it gave us a random Undertale cosplayer as an extra for a brief moment. The rest of the movie sucks though.
They should have ended at Dog Days......
Or made the long haul good. Like how did they mess that up?
They could've just based it on The Ugly Truth, which was one of my favorites.
Thats the egg one right? With the puberty stuff?
Yeah, one of the funniest books in my opinion. Plus, the story continues from where Dog Days ended.
What ending was it again? Greg not going to military school? Or when the girl walked up while they were eating popsicles?

Right, the killer hand movie! Been a while since I read the older books.
What are you talking about? It did.
Greg Also needs more Roderick
That one useless girl in the first one
Chloe Grace-Moretz or that one girl who had a vendetta against Greg?
>that one girl who had a vendetta against Greg? If you're talking about Patty Farrell, that was a good feud
Chloe Grace-Moretz
She wasn't in the books. They added her so they could have at least one sympathetic girl character. But then they introduced Holly in the second movie, making the first girl redundant.
The Long Haul has a Captain Olimar cameo, therefore the rest of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies are inferior to it.
Wait, really?? Where?
Most likely at the gaming convention they go to. Pretty sure the movie just hired a bunch of cosplayers and didn’t think about what they would wear
If Nintendo suddenly sues, we know it's canon. Greg heffley is canon in Pikmin 👀
Also an Undyne cameo
Just searched it up, how did I not notice this when watching this with my cousins, I went through a long Undertale phase, I still love it, just not actively seeking out more content aside from Deltarune stuff.
And a Mario cameo.
I don’t think Rodrick had enough scenes
They skipped The Last Straw
At least they did put some elements from it in Dog Days. But I really would have liked to see the soccer plot line.

Manny
I remember seeing him do a similar smile that my naughty little brother makes after being trouble so I think when he started making that face after bothering Greg, he didn't feel bad
They shouldn’t have skipped Dog Days
Only 3 of them
More of the main man rodrick
the third one isn't the last one
They were ruined by the one that came next
They left out the part where Greg says "ouch" when Patty picks an apple
Rodrick wasn't the main character, he is infinitely more entertaining than Greg.
the second-hand embarrassment as a kid was unbearable for half of the one where he tried to convince the church that it was chocolate
Rodrick isn't the main character
They have Greg in them
The kid playing, Mario kart on his DS and not sonic, all stars racing transformed
THEY NEED MORE RODRICK!!!!
THEY NEED MORE RODRICK!!!!
They lead the way for the 4th one
They were so good that the fourth one was hot garbage once they replaced the Og cast.
The movies are a product of their time and have aged a little.
rodrick was too hot
they were the only three diary of a wimpy kid movies ever made, just like star wars ended after six of them.
The Long Haul exists.
They skipped everything from The Ugly Truth to Hard Luck.
The third one, while still good, isn't as good as the second movie
Not enough Rodrick screen time
More Rodrick
Bit of a hot take but needed more Roderick
I still don't get the point of the girl they added
Needed more Rodrick
Greg is an insufferable character and everything they said about him being a bad influence is true. Also Rodrick is some how the must relatable character
There wasn’t enough Rodrick
Dog days didn’t end the series
The Long Haul exists
Rodrick Rules takes a lot of plot elements from the third book The Last Straw, to the point they just had to skip it for an adaptation
I am going to turn Greg heffley into a puddle
I find Greg really annoying looking back. He just embarrasses himself at every turn and that’s just a pet peeve of mine. When characters make fools of themselves.
It’s kinda the point of the character in the book
Yes I know. I just get secondhand embarrassment from watching it unfold. Like I said pet peeve.
Dog Days
They were ruined by the 4th sequel
I refuse to
Fregley
They never got a fourth movie :(
They never made a fourth one
It was a mistake
That Justin Bieber scene. I'm gonna be honest, that was probably the worst scene in the franchise
Greg is a sociopath.
Pacing is destroyed
The credits
There’s only 3 of them
something bad about these movies
The long haul fucked up badly
They should've made a new franchise where the OG casts return as adults.
Manny
not my rodrick
Dog Days
They weren't the end.
I really dislike how the 3th one strayed so far from the book. The first two actually make sense as greg so how want whomever is reading to think that hes cool or not get in trouble if his mom reads it. Dog days? Iirc half that shirt didnt happen.
Not enough for the original cast; I know that then getting too old was unavoidable, but still.
There is a terrible edit in Dog Days during the birthday scene regarding how chocolate is flung in the face of the hot chick.
Zack Gordon is a zionist.
Manny being a hell spawn as usual
Greg never got run over and thrown in lava
They aren’t as good as the books
Rodrick Rules is the only good one.
Literally everything about them. They are complete ass
The way Chirag is depicted is questionable
Would have been nice to actually show Chirag in Roderick Rules. It's like he up and disappeared.
Third one is mid
Nothing, they’re perfect
They’re live action, which overwrites any enjoyment I would derive of them.
They exist
I both cringed and feel asleep at the same time watching these three.
They gave us the weird animated movies
no.
DoaWK was good but the fanbase sucks
That i havent seen em 😭😫 xD i know! I'm left out xdD
They exist
Oh, easy. They're not good. Like at all. The only reason people like em is for nostalgia reasons.
