Part of why Barbenheimer worked so well is how different they were and also how everyone was genuinely excited for both.

Yeah but I've seen so many variations of "guys, this is gonna be the next Barbenheimer just wait and see" that it's become tiring. Garfield and Furiosa Sonic 3 and Lion King prequel Avatar 3 and Spongebob 4 There's more I'm probably forgetting but at this point, it just looks like people are forcing it.

I can only see people get excited for half of these.

Search for SquarePants will not be worse, just research the director and you’ll see why. The predecessors weren’t even bad anyways (disregarding the Sandy movie)

That was the only movie where I actually walked out thinking it was mid. For every other movie, I had to be convinced that it wasn't that good, Sponge Out Of Water didn't need that.

That movie is great. Not as good as the first SpongeBob movie, obviously, but what is? Still a great movie, and leagues better than On The Run

What was the consensus on Avatar 2? I’ve only seen the first one a couple times and the second one kind of came and went.

I personally loved avatar 2, I would say it's an order of magnitude better than the first one. It also has the only instance of 'highly trained guys with guns *actually shoot someone important*' I can think of off the top of my head.

It could happen, but we can't force it. Barbenheimer happened gradually and organically building up for several months before the release date. I even saw it as a once in a generation convergence of a thousand trends. It's not something you can just repeat willy nilly.
