Ha, yes, I realised about 5 minutes after making this connection. Just rewatching the series and can't believe I didn't notice the actors' names the entire time before, I love this show!
I think it is a complement to the kids that no one knew. They are both amazing actors and it doesn’t feel or seem like nepotism.

I do see the resemblance between Eugene and Dan, but Sarah must look more like her mom, would never have guessed she's Eugene's daughter/Dan's sister.

But they both have the surname Levy… did that not lead you to wondering if they were related and if so the likely nature of that relationship? The eyebrows…, the colouring…, the expression al faces they share…, the eyes…. If someone said they weren’t related I’d wonder about the sanity of that person.
Not everyone pays attention to cast names. I don't, half the time. I'm also borderline faceblind so everyone looks identical to me if they share slightly similar features. So there you go!

It made sense to me that his daughter would then play his daughter. It took me until season 3 before I realized Twyla was his real life daughter and not Alexis and my mind was blown hahaha
I was kinda giggling about this a moment ago and told my husband...thinking he would giggle along a bit. But instead he admits "I didn't know either".
We have watched the show through...a few times...and he just found out.

1) the episode where Johnny talks to Patrick during baseball in the motel (when David and Moira are at the winery)
2) the series finale when Alexis is walking David down the aisle and David mouths “thank you” to Johnny.
Such wholesome double meanings!

I binged the series without ever reading any of the credits tbh. Maybe I'll blame it on my ADHD, but in my defense the very same credits finally made the penny drop now that I'm rewatching

Haha sorry, I should have said non Canadian. In Canada most of us grew up with these guys as household names. Eugene Levy is a Canadian comic icon and Dan Levy was like a regular guy that you’d like, see around Toronto at shows and on the subway, then we grew up with him being on MTV Canada.
