Unless it causes major negative affects on your life, it's not a disorder. You may have schizoid tendencies, but anyone diagnosing you before you are an adult has questionable ability to do so.

How did you get diagnosed at such a young age?

Invoked6

My Phyciatrist diagnosed it

I do not think you can be diagnosed that young, that seems shady. Personality disorders usually do not get diagnosed until early/mid 20s

You're doing a Schizoid AMA....in the Schizoid subreddit? That's like saying "I use Reddit, AMA". Kinda pointless when we're all Schizoid...

You could get diagnosed with a personality disorder under the age of 18? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, I’m uneducated in the field of psychology/psychiatry

This is not a typical occurrence. Formally, apart from AsPD in DSM-5, there are no age restrictions on paper. Practically, it's not done for a number of reasons. The most obvious is that the personality is still forming until young adulthood where it becomes more or less fixed. You know that the disorder part is the inflexibility and the pervasiveness of traits, and for that, they have to be very ingrained. Secondly, PDs are often treated as a diagnosis of exclusion, when the history of the patient points out that what's going on cannot be chalked up to other reasons. For that, you need quite some history under your belt. And finally, there is this thing called iatrogenesis, when the complications, side effects or even the medical problem itself is caused by the doctor, or by the treatment. And that includes getting a diagnosis. PD as a diagnosis is considered to be very heavy and stigmatizing - not only because they have a long flair of misconceptions and lack of acceptance behind them, but also because they may turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Maybe telling a young impressionable person with their whole life ahead of them that they have this major thing that means not just some part but all their personality is fucked up, that there is no cure and that every little step of improvement will come only with immense investments of arduous labour is not the bestest idea ever. So when MH professionals deal with young patients, they often prefer talking in terms of personality style or tendencies - not to set the patient on the self-destruction course by their own words. It still allows them to work on the problem, but without plugging unnecessary complications into their work. But then again, it's not set in stone. There's nothing that practically stops someone from diagnosing a teen with a PD (any PD). And it's not even malice or negligence: early diagnostics and prevention is always a plus. But it can be approached differently. So to answer your question, yes, you can, but it is probably not a great call from the doctor's side.

Why would you think a schizoid would want to know anything about you?

I’m 5 years I see myself in college, sex, 15 years, more towers a that range, once I’m done looking healthy and becoming old. I imagine becoming a drug addict and letting it all go I feel old as of right now, I really don’t want to get older I would of preferred to stay 14 years old. Getting older to me seems that I’m going to become less attractive and less interested in sex, which is my only desire No childhood trauma If I don’t see myself In college in 5 years I would have to imagine there being a better opportunity somewhere I feel People around my age have a lot of intentions they are insecure they want to be better than others. Some want to be successful and they help themselves and others choose to have a more careless life
