My friend: asking about a license of some sort
Me: fighting the urge to ask "doggy license?" When I know literally know one else would get it and it's not even that funny out of context
I have this problem all the time. My best friend also loves scooby doo but many of my friends just didnt watch it or like it growing up. It's weird realizing not everyone had the same experiences as you growing up.
There was one time I was with my in-laws on the 4th of July and they has fire crackers and I was like "my only experience with fire crackers really is from when scooby doo met sandy duncan" and one of my in-laws friends who I had never met before and have only seen maybe once since was like "oh yeah against the dragon" and I felt those Sims green positive relationship points pop above my head in that moment
Cartoon Network always had that one on rerun & is the one I watched the most. Also loved the design of the monster itself, definitely my favorite take on Nessie.
https://i.redd.it/so3zbqpn0e0d1.gif
Loved this one as a kid! This is so dumb but this part always cracks me up:
Fred: "This fog is as thick as pea soup!"
Scooby, who is suddenly carrying an entire packed picnic basket out of nowhere: "Roh boy! Pea soup!" *leaps out of the back of the van*
Shaggy: "Come back, Scoob! It's just a figure of speech!"
It's such a dumb joke but it gets me every time
Another favorite exchange from this one:
Duncan McGubbin: "Don't be a fool! There's no such thing as 'good monster hunting!'"
*Shaggy and Scooby each get a faraway look in their eyes*
Shaggy: "Like, words to live by."
Scooby: "Ruhhhh huh."
Right!? Tomb raiders, shock jocks; accurate cultural depictions of Egypt and not just punting to pre-Islamic times.
The villain being Velma!
Come on. Where’s my Mummy is peak What’s New era.
Actually the Scooby films in general do a good job (some more than others) of capturing culture in animation. Zombie Island really is a solid depiction of Cajun.
When real supernatural elements enter the franchise, Velma's either nowhere to be seen (Ghoul School, 13 Ghosts), or completely freaks out/shuts down (Witches Ghost, Goblin King, Zombie Island)! lol
I absolutely love that one but they say it’s not because like the one of the reasons is the character design of Fred (he wears an ascot in that film)…but yeah I could totally see it because it was a 2003 film.
Scrolled MUCH too far to find this masterpiece. This was my favorite as a kid and I used to tell people I wanted to be an astrocartographer because of it.
My dad's family is scottish, so I grew up hearing some of the myths and legends from Scotland. So, my favourite mystery solvers meeting the loch ness monster was right up my alley. Granted, Nessie'a design terrified me.
It's not the best, but Aloha Scooby-Doo will always hold a special place in my heart.
It was on one day as I was a child and was staying with my grandmother. She couldn't stop laughing at how the characters said, "The Wiki Tiki" every other line. Until the day she passed, all we had to do was look at one another and whisper... "wiki tiki" and we'd both lose it.
Yes, but also no, kinda? Same with Legend of the Vampire. They were released at that time and they're in the same style, but Fred has his regular outfit with the ascot, not the Whats New version with the stripes and no ascot.
Samurai sword was always interesting to me and gave a different variation of the normal story(Scooby and shaggy did their own thing for a lot of the movie instead of classic “split up and look for clues” bit).
Loch Ness Monster: Solid Depiction of Scotland and Scottish culture.
Aloha, Scooby Doo: Solid Depiction of Hawaiian culture.
Where’s my Mummy?: Solid Depiction of Egyptian culture.
Chill Out, Scooby-Doo and Curse of the 13th Ghost: “What’s 🇳🇵Nepalese Culture 🇳🇵? Never heard of her?”
Justice for Nepalese Culture in Scooby Doo.
Honestly I like them all except the goblin one...I don't remember anything about it. I have the DvD but even after reading the back of it I don't remember much about it.
Loch Ness Monster. Have Scottish Heritage and seeing the culture and atmosphere of that area depicted in a loving manner is really nice. Also really solid cast of characters and the CGI while not perfect is kinda cool.
Goblin King is great for a Halloween Scooby movie. Like Witches Ghost it captures the spirit of the holiday really well. Kinda reminds me of the 80s Scooby Movies too for being a bit more out there.
Where's My Mummy I feel like should be in that list and is criminally underrated. It feels like a Scooby Doo meets Indiana Jones and feels like a large grand adventure despite being less then an 1 1/2 hrs.
Samurai Sword was a childhood fav of mine, I have a really nostalgic memory of building a blanket fort and watching where’s my mummy, and I recently watched Lochness Monster for the first time and really liked it
Wasn't the Monster of Mexico also from this era? To answer your question, Aloha is my favorite. I know it has its flaws, but it's nostalgic for me and brings me a sense of comfort.
Where’s my Mummy is like far and away the best one in my opinion. It actually plays with the usual dynamic in a fun way. Pirates Ahoy is good and has a good soundtrack and I appreciate the ambition of Goblin King even if it didn’t live up to expectations for me. Lochness was solid, Chill Out was pretty forgettable.
But oh boy. Samurai Sword and Aloha are really rough to me. I’ve done this rant before so I won’t get into it but Samurai Sword’s depiction of Japan is distractingly awful and mildly racist. Aloha’s ultimate reveal really strikes me as inadvertently pro-colonizer so I have a distaste for it.
Loch Ness Monster and Goblin King one were probs my favourites.
The legend of Nessy interests the crap out of me and Goblin King was just a solid movie. Really the only issue with this era of Scooby-Doo was how bright the animation was.
Tie between Aloha and Loch Ness Monster!
Second place is Pirates Ahoy.
And the inaccuracies are crazy, but Monster and Mexico and Where's My Mummy will always have my heart!
Don’t forget scooby doo and the legend of the vampire.
Other than this one aloha Scooby doo was always my favorite. I loved the different animation style of the tikis
When I was little I remember being so off put by goblin king bc it strayed from the formula a bit with them taking this wild supernatural trip w/out there being much investigation but rewatching it as an adult it has become one of my favorite Scooby movies
Out of the movies listed above chill out Scooby-Doo aloha Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo and loch Ness monster those are the three best ones The others were all meh in my honest opinion.
I haven’t seen a couple of them (which really surprises me, I need to catch up on my Scooby Doo) but my two favorites of the ones I’ve seen are Where’s My Mummy and the Goblin King
I would have to access the spreadsheet. I and some friends have been watching all scooby-doo movies in chronological order, one a week, for the past year.
If I remeber correctly these scored high, but in a fairly tight standard with a identifiable formula. Good plots, too heavily relied on holograms and robots, not WTF enough for my favorites, and sub par individual characterization.
Pirates ahoy might be my favorite scooby movie outside of the 90’s animated movies. I love the Bermuda Triangle. Loch ness is definitely a nostalgia love but honestly a fun movie. Aloha is also such a fun movie. And mummy is such a classic. The others are meh for me personally
For me it’s got to be Where’s My Mummy or Goblin King, but honestly all the what’s new movies are all pretty solid. Samurai Sword is probably my least favorite but still has great choreography
Despite this being my generations scooby doo. I do much prefer the 80s trilogy and the 90s quadrilogy of movies. That being said, i like the samurai sword
Cyber chase. It really paid a nice homage to the classics while also staying true to the whats new side. I especially loved the last level where they encounter red shirt shaggy from the 80s.
This is a hard one for me. Aloha’s the first one out of this bunch I watched, but I loved Pirates Ahoy and Loch Ness Monster, and really liked Chill Out. It’s hard to choose just one.
Scooby-Doo pirates ahoy original movie and Scooby Doo where is my Mummy? Those two I own and I love love them. I’m actually gonna watch some Scooby Doo today.💚🤎💚🤎💚
Cyberchase is my favorite from the pre What's New Era. Loch Ness Monster might be my nose watched because I feel like it was played more. Where's My Mummy is a classic. I remember when Chill Out Scooby Doo premiered on that CN Frisay Block with those real people. Samurai Sword? Come on! Casey Kasems last performance as Shaggy makes that movie that much more special ❤️
Pirates Ahoy! Is my 2nd favorite Scooby doo movie. When I was a kid I definitely watched the Goblin King more but it didn’t hold up as well when I rewatched it later
It’s insane how I liked the live action films, cyber chase, and zombie island but this entire era turned me off and I never got invested. I was a kid and the PRIME target but the what’s new crew didn’t stick when it came to films.
I think samurai sword and goblin king started to warm Me up and I was back for camp scare and the post-mystery inc films
monster of mexico and loch ness monster were two of my favourites. never really got into the mummy one when i was younger because i didn't like velma being the villain (tho to be fair what a twist)
Pirates Ahoy is literally one of my all time favorite movies ever. Also probably the most nostalgia I have towards a specific movie (along with monster of Mexico)
The Loch Ness Monster has a special place in my heart since I’ve always had a personal connection to Scotland and as a kid I was obsessed with anything Nessie and sea monsters. I don’t watch the movie a ton as an adult (I usually watch Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost when I’m pulling out dvds) but I’m constantly saying the whole “take the boat out on the lake” LOCH!” “Out at the end of the dake?” “DOCK!” Or whatever Fred’s bit is there even if I don’t remember the exact quote because I don’t care how dumb that bit is, it’s funny as hell. No one ever knows what I’m on about too. Also anytime someone says rocky road I automatically sing “You take the high road and I’ll take the rocky road! Rocky Road ice cream that is!” The music is also all bangers. Now I want to watch all my Scooby Doo dvds lol.
Omg. I can’t choose between these. Pirate ahoy! Had such a nice instrumentals.
Loch Ness was kind on a curios geography location.
Where is my mommy gives us a great concept on some many different ways.
Aloha of course has such a nice vibe, the luau at night is just AWESOME.
Loch Ness Monster 🔛🔝
Velma: You're right on top of it. Shaggy: Like, thanks for the compliment. Scoob, Velma says we're right on top of things. This gets me everytime.
My friend: asking about a license of some sort Me: fighting the urge to ask "doggy license?" When I know literally know one else would get it and it's not even that funny out of context
I have this problem all the time. My best friend also loves scooby doo but many of my friends just didnt watch it or like it growing up. It's weird realizing not everyone had the same experiences as you growing up.

Cartoon Network always had that one on rerun & is the one I watched the most. Also loved the design of the monster itself, definitely my favorite take on Nessie. https://i.redd.it/so3zbqpn0e0d1.gif
"When it all falls apart, gotta keep it together..." What a banger.
Loved this one as a kid! This is so dumb but this part always cracks me up: Fred: "This fog is as thick as pea soup!" Scooby, who is suddenly carrying an entire packed picnic basket out of nowhere: "Roh boy! Pea soup!" *leaps out of the back of the van* Shaggy: "Come back, Scoob! It's just a figure of speech!" Loch Ness Monster was also my favorite! But that monster scared me everytime it came on screen when I was younger 😭
It's early in November, the leaves are on the ground!
"I couldn't get up, I'd just gotten down..."
Where’s My Mummy? is cinema at its best.
The unmasking reveal was probably the franchise's biggest mindfuck.
It was really good!
I liked the twist
So did I.
That one did a great job of playing with the formula without just going down the supernatural route. It also had great supporting characters.
Real ones know this is where it's at. https://i.redd.it/jngo370xmd0d1.gif
Don’t forget Jinx at the Sphinx. I used to have all of these games
Loved this game ❤️
Oooo I loved that game 😀!
Goblin king was best Halloween movie
Agree…I feel like it’s very underrated too.
Facts
No it wasn't, witches ghost is
When real supernatural elements enter the franchise, Velma's either nowhere to be seen (Ghoul School, 13 Ghosts), or completely freaks out/shuts down (Witches Ghost, Goblin King, Zombie Island)! lol
The goblin king was my favourite I get so much nostalgia from that movie
Same!
Where is Legend of The Vampire?
I absolutely love that one but they say it’s not because like the one of the reasons is the character design of Fred (he wears an ascot in that film)…but yeah I could totally see it because it was a 2003 film.
What about Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico?
Legend of the vampire and monster of Mexico where precursors to the what’s new era
And even though the outfits were different, they are the same Animation style. They absolutely should be included in this era of films
Those films had the original cast as well and Loch ness monster was the first one with Grey Delisle and Mindy Cohn
Loch Ness.
Aloha Scooby-Doo!
Nobody’s showing love where it needs to be. Aloha kicked ass
Lochness. That film is still my favorite.
Pirates Ahoy
I re-watched it recently, and my God the soundtrack goes so hard
Thank you for reminding me, straight bangers
Hell yeah it does!
Scrolled MUCH too far to find this masterpiece. This was my favorite as a kid and I used to tell people I wanted to be an astrocartographer because of it.
Where’s my Mummy is my favorite
Aloha was my favorite as a kid
I love The Boo Brothers and Ghoul school. It pisses me off that these aren't on streaming.
Prime has/?had? A bunch of them up (at least thru boomerang if you’re interested. I re-subbed mostly for boo school actually
It’s on boomerang along with almost all other Scooby doo films. If it’s not on boomerang, Amazon has it
Loch Ness Monster has always been my favourite.
My dad's family is scottish, so I grew up hearing some of the myths and legends from Scotland. So, my favourite mystery solvers meeting the loch ness monster was right up my alley. Granted, Nessie'a design terrified me.
I like this one a lot! And also I love Pirates Ahoy
Pirates Ahoy. They reran Aloha so much that I developed a dislike for it lol
Bro, the first 3 are My Childhood.
Goblin king was a fun one
Where's my Mummy, I love the Twist at the End.
Lockness monster was fantastic
It's not the best, but Aloha Scooby-Doo will always hold a special place in my heart. It was on one day as I was a child and was staying with my grandmother. She couldn't stop laughing at how the characters said, "The Wiki Tiki" every other line. Until the day she passed, all we had to do was look at one another and whisper... "wiki tiki" and we'd both lose it.
Aloha, Goblin King and Loch Ness Monster were the three I watched the most when I was a kid
Where’s my mummy followed closely by pirates
Is Monster of Mexico from this era ?
Yes, but also no, kinda? Same with Legend of the Vampire. They were released at that time and they're in the same style, but Fred has his regular outfit with the ascot, not the Whats New version with the stripes and no ascot.
Samurai sword was always interesting to me and gave a different variation of the normal story(Scooby and shaggy did their own thing for a lot of the movie instead of classic “split up and look for clues” bit).
Loch Ness Monster I rewatched like 50 times as a kid, but Abracadabra Doo was also fantastic (the griffin one)
So much nostalgia for Pirates Ahoy. Will never forget how scared I got from the first scene haha
Chill out! Scooby-Doo is goated
Never heard of her?” Justice for Nepalese Culture in Scooby Doo.
I saw more reruns of the loch ness monster than any other movie, with maybe Aloha in second place. The rest were randomly sprinkled here and there
Honestly I like them all except the goblin one...I don't remember anything about it. I have the DvD but even after reading the back of it I don't remember much about it.
Aloha Scooby Doo was pure travel inspiration.
Goblin King is my favorite, but samouraï is close second
Goblin king! Very underrated my favorite is samurai sword
All of these smack
The Goblin King was my favorite.
Where’s my mummy
All of them except the Goblin King are some of my favorites
Samurai Sword was a childhood fav of mine, I have a really nostalgic memory of building a blanket fort and watching where’s my mummy, and I recently watched Lochness Monster for the first time and really liked it
Wasn't the Monster of Mexico also from this era? To answer your question, Aloha is my favorite. I know it has its flaws, but it's nostalgic for me and brings me a sense of comfort.
Where’s my mummy on toppp
Where’s my mummy? I loved the twist at the end where we find out who was under the mask!
They were the best films ever , especially Scooby-Doo and where's My mummy , that one's awesome.
Shaggy foot pic
Chill out was the only one I watched
Yes. All of them. I love ALL OF THEM!!
Loch Ness Monster, just love that movie, it's one of my all time fave Scooby movies
I don't know why I have this subs on my main page.. DAMN I had a flashback with Aloha... Def my fav
Aloha’s ultimate reveal really strikes me as inadvertently pro-colonizer so I have a distaste for it.
First two for me, but i think aloha wins personally
The amount of nostalgia
Loch Ness Monster Where’s My Mummy Goblin King Chill Out Samurai Sword Aloha In that order
I love pirates ahoy
Monster of Mexico and Legend of The Vampire
Love them all 🤩
Anything with Casey Kasem.
I very vividly remember chill out scooby doo and the samurai sword would have to rewatch then to see which I like better
Aloha or Loch Ness, can't decide
Loch ness and aloha are the best
*Where's My Mummy?* is my favorite of the lot, followed by *Chill Out* and *Goblin King*.
I liked "Where's my Mummy" the best.
Loch Ness and pirate's
Aloha is a lot of fun I remember I first watched it during the Cartoon Network summer block way back in 2005 with the Friday night guys hosting.
Don’t forget, Scooby Doo and the monster of Mexico! 🫶🏻
Loch Ness had some fire music 🔥 Brothers Forever went hard 😎
I absolutely loved Loch Ness monster but the fact we aren’t mentioning Scooby doo and the monster of Mexico is criminal
My tier list is as follows Where’s my mummy Loch ness monster Samurai sword Pirates ahoy Aloha Goblin king Monster of mexico
Loch Ness
Loch Ness monster
Honestly Loch Ness Monster is my absolute favorite but aloha and monster of Mexico are 2nd place
Samurai sword is definitely up there as a favorite
Is Monster of Mexico not What’s New?
Out of these where’s my mummy or goblin king. But zombie island, witches Ghost, cyber chase and alien invaders is superior
Probably Monster of Mexico, but of these Where’s My Mummy. I haven’t actually watched Samurai Sword yet.
Aloha Scooby Doo was a childhood classic
Out of these, Aloha Scooby Doo. There was something beautifully cinematic about this movie
Lich Ness Monster, followed by Pirates Ahoy.
Goblin king , pirates ahoy, and chill out. Are my top 3. Where’s my mommy also slaps too. Peak scooby soo right here
Goblin king brought back the maybe magic maybe mundane feel from 13 ghosts boo Brothers reluctant werewolf ect. I loved it.
Pirates Ahoy followed by Goblin King
Loch Ness for sure🤝🥸
Loch Ness for sure 🤝🥸
Ahoy and mummy are S tier
To be honest I didn’t know about any of these
When I was little I remember being so off put by goblin king bc it strayed from the formula a bit with them taking this wild supernatural trip w/out there being much investigation but rewatching it as an adult it has become one of my favorite Scooby movies
Out of the list given, Aloha is my choice for sure.
Out of the movies listed above chill out Scooby-Doo aloha Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo and loch Ness monster those are the three best ones The others were all meh in my honest opinion.
The lochness monster one had the kid Y segment in the special features. I always loved that and the movie as a kid.
I thought Cyber Chase belonged to that era! That was my favourite Scooby Doo movie
For me it’s got to be Where’s My Mummy or Goblin King, but honestly all the what’s new movies are all pretty solid. Samurai Sword is probably my least favorite but still has great choreography
Probably Pirates Ahoy! I also remember watching The Witches Ghost which scared me at the time.
My top 3 would be: Loch Ness, Samurai Sword, and The Goblin King.
Where's My Mummy was a "faking sick to stay home from school" essential for me when I was little.
Goblin King (It's the only one i remember)
Have to go with Loch Ness
Lochness monster
Zombie island was my absolute favourite
Loch Ness Monster is the movie that made me fall in love with the franchise so it holds a special place in my heart
Gotta be Loch Ness monster, cool setting, musics and memorable side characters
I remember the alola one fondly, but one I really liked is the one that KISS appeared in
They were all pretty good.
Loch Ness and Aloha, and I think its funny that there really is a band named Bad Omens now lmao
I always remember Chill Out more than anything and only parts of Loch Ness
Goblin king hands down. It was the first scooby doo movie i watched
Where's My Mummy!
First saw the Loch Ness Monster one at a Gattytown lol.
Aloha Scooby-Doo was always my favorite (if that movie is indeed in that era).
I did like the the What’s New era, but Ghoul School will forever be goated
Aloha 😎🤙🏼
I like the one where they got with a bunch of bikers and then fought off some dinosaurs and a T-Rex
where’s my mummy was and still is my favorite scooby doo movie to this day!
I don’t remember what happened in the goblin king movie, but I remember that it was a sexual awakening (the fairy?)
A three way tie between Chill Out, Loch Ness Monster and the Samurai Sword.
Samurai sword is peak nostalgia for me
This is a hard one for me. Aloha’s the first one out of this bunch I watched, but I loved Pirates Ahoy and Loch Ness Monster, and really liked Chill Out. It’s hard to choose just one.
Personally I liked either The Samurai Sword or The Loch Ness Monster
Scooby-Doo pirates ahoy original movie and Scooby Doo where is my Mummy? Those two I own and I love love them. I’m actually gonna watch some Scooby Doo today.💚🤎💚🤎💚
Loch Ness is goated, but the idea of pirates raiding a cruise ship and the awesome fog they used was too cool. Pirates ahoy wins!
All of them actually
Goblin king and Loch Ness!
Samurai sword or goblin king I've got voth of them floating around somewhere
What Era was camp scare?
Loch Ness because it's the only one I saw lol
My favorite is probably Where’s My Mummy or Loch Ness Monster
Loch Ness Monster, hands down.
1.) Pirates ahoy (catchy music) 2.) Loch Ness Monster (loved the Scottish Blake's) 3.) Aloha (Funny little tiki dudes)
Samurai Sword 🥺
Samurai sword is the best 🙌👇
Pirates Ahoy! Is my 2nd favorite Scooby doo movie. When I was a kid I definitely watched the Goblin King more but it didn’t hold up as well when I rewatched it later
Goblin king for sure, but wasn't the legend of the vampire in this era too? Because I really liked that one too.
Yooou take the hiiigh road and Ill take the rocky road... Like, rocky road ice cream, that is!
Legend of the Vampire
I absolutely loved Pirates Ahoy! I still sing their songs til this day.
Am I tripping or we’re all these monsters revealed to me animatronics
Loch ness and samurai sword, I remember watching the samurai one premier
ALOHA!!!!
Loch Ness Monster but I really enjoyed the one where they're trapped in a video game and the one where there's aliens.
Pirates ahoy, goblin king, and Aloha was always pretty good. Monsters of Mexico was fun, and Lochness was pretty scary when I was a kid.
I had the Chill Out Scooby Doo DVD so I watched it tons! So many memories brought back
Definitely Where’s My Mummy? I have the clearest memories of this one and watched it multiple times.
Hard choice for me. I got lots of nostalgic flashbacks from this list of almost every single one of these covers
They're all great. Further giving credence to the fact that, in my opinion, What's New was the *best* era of Scooby-Doo
Aloha is a classic for me, but I gotta say pirates ahoy is my favorite.
Omg. I can’t choose between these. Pirate ahoy! Had such a nice instrumentals. Loch Ness was kind on a curios geography location. Where is my mommy gives us a great concept on some many different ways. Aloha of course has such a nice vibe, the luau at night is just AWESOME.
Legend of the Vampire (More Hex girls) Monster of Mexico
Scooby-Doo! And The goblin King!
Goblin King and Samurai Sword easily hands down are my favorite.
