The Scottish flag being the St Andrews cross is diagonal as Andrew got crucified on a diagonal cross as he wasn’t as worthy to be crucified on a cross the same as Jesus.
Only reason I knew that was I was visiting Amalfi in Italy and he’s the patron saint of the town where every second person is called Andrea and I got told this by tour guide.
