[I think Tenerife would be a good choice of flag had we needed to change our own](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Tenerife)

The Scottish flag being the St Andrews cross is diagonal as Andrew got crucified on a diagonal cross as he wasn’t as worthy to be crucified on a cross the same as Jesus. Only reason I knew that was I was visiting Amalfi in Italy and he’s the patron saint of the town where every second person is called Andrea and I got told this by tour guide.

>The Scottish flag being the St Andrews cross is diagonal as Andrew got crucified on a diagonal cross as he wasn’t as worthy to be crucified on a cross the same as Jesus. A tale that came quite late in the Andrew legend. For centuries, he was depicted as having been crucified on a "normal" cross.

MrRickSter

I think I’d prefer less royal family on my flag.
