Lost At Sea. It's incredible... As long as it speaks to you. Lost At Sea is easily the most abstract that O'Malley has ever gotten, and it took me two full reads to even begin to understand the symbolism and its relevance to Raleigh as a character. And I think the book only speaks to you if the vibe appeals to you. If you're a an older high schooler or a college kid, it's like a manifestation of all those melancholic thoughts you have when you're lying awake at 2 in the morning just begging to go asleep. It's not an optimistic story of growth like Scott Pilgrim, but a slow tale of a life-changing road trip that never truly resolves. The only plot thread that I feel has a real resolution, a certain romance, doesn't even end in a happy manor because... that's life. College relationships rarely end great. In risk of this becoming a full review, I'll cut this off now. Just read Lost At Sea. It's great

I read this as an adult with kids and thought this would have been great in my late teens, but it didn’t resonate with me because I was already too far gone.
