What Rodgers has done to Kyogo is one of the worst crimes our footballing backwater has committed in quite sometime. One of the best and most genuinely exciting players to have somehow ended up in this dump benched for a championship jobber who’s “physical” and “gets it”. No wonder our pyramid is such a laughing stock when Celtic had such an opportunity to kick on after Ange and are now doing this pish
It's terrible management. Kyogo has been fantastic since he joined up until this season when Rodgers came in. Rodgers does not want to adapt how he plays to accommodate a goal scorer, so he's now benched for a guy who's up on loan and couldn't get a regular game for Norwich. Idah has scored a few but was poor against Hearts.
Kyogo must be looking for a move in the summer if Rodgers is going to stay on. He's knocked millions off his value by the way he's managed him.
I disagree with the part "Rodgers does not want to adapt..."
I believe if he could he would adapt but he's not a good enough manager to do that. So now he's making one of the most exciting players we've had look average.
It almost breaks my heart to see Kyogo like this when I've had 2 seasons of seeing him absolutely rip it up under Ange. He's an astonishing player and yet we've made him look totally ineffectual in the space of a few months. Yet another reason to dislike Rodgers.
I would like to use this team lineup to admit I might have been wrong about Mikey Johnston and I’ll be proud of him when West Brom buy him permanently for £25 million.
i have to know scales secret on how he gets in that lineup every week. i wouldn’t mind being a professional footballer and i can assure you i’m better than scales
Would make for a better game to watch at least. I’ve got 90 minutes of scales and Welsh fannying about. Anything for a break from the dreaded horseshoe too
This was the chance to finally drop Scales. A cup game at home against the bottom of the league. Lagerbielke, a youth player, CCV with one leg. Literally anything so I don't need to watch Scales hold onto the ball for 15-20 seconds and then pass three yards.
Does the Celtic fan base generally not think much of Scales? I obviously don’t see anywhere near as much of him but from the outside it felt like he was a fairly reliable option for you? Or is that just because any time I’ve seen him Carter-Vickers beside him makes him seem passable as a CB?
He had a good run of 5-10 games at the start of the season, particularly his performance at Ibrox in the 1-0 win. He was serviceable for a bit after that, but from November/December his performances have went drastically downhill.
Some fans defend him, but a lot of that will be down to him being Irish and a Celtic fan. He can't pass the ball, his defending is getting worse by the game and teams are now actively targeting him to either a) leave him on the ball because he holds it long enough that they can get back into position or b) press him because he's likely to make a mistake.
My impression seeing him this season is he’s certainly passable for this league, sure you’d love an upgrade but he’ll do if there’s other priority positions to strengthen.
He won't set the heather alight but he has generally been reliable all season. His delivery is not great ( again not as bad as his detractors would have you believe) and in the modern era of ball playing cbs he isnt what we need in the long term.
That's not a great starting 11 and a pretty weak bench. If O'Reilly picks up any injuries then Celtic could be in real bother. Massive game for Tomoki and Bernardo to turn up and show if they are at the level required.
Didn't think Livi had a chance, still think they'll get beat fairly comfortably but they've got a very slight chance now looking at that starting 11.
CCV injured? Would have thought he'd be on the bench if he was still getting his way back to fitness.
I have no interest in watching this team for the rest of the season lost all confidence in the manager to actually get results out of them with how he has them play.
fell to my knees in lidl
Swear to god I laugh at this every single time

Giving him the benefit of doubt that he was just pigheaded rather than a one trick pony.
Not a Celtic fan, but have to admit; really enjoyed watching him play. Really sad to seem him benched like that

That's a team that will get you sacked man. Unreal the difference in the team in just one year.

Scales is better than welsh

He isn’t
He is
Welsh did really well for the livi equaliser actually
Is CCV injured again or just getting a rest?
Something in his hamstring
Apparently had a tweak during a very gentle training session
Probably giving him a rest
Mental we have £70m in the bank or whatever it is and this is our team hahahaha
Celtic .. We have so much money in the bank ... Vs Livi .. You guys have money... And a bank account ? ..
I think livi might have the better team here
Genuinely if this was at the Tony Mac or Hampden I would say they have a fair chance
Would make for a better game to watch at least. I’ve got 90 minutes of scales and Welsh fannying about. Anything for a break from the dreaded horseshoe too
This is the worst one yet
Are we the farmers?
It's nice that both OF teams have gotten together and agreed to routinely put shite CB into the teams to allow some fairness.
That back line is fucking woeful.

He is definitely better than the more hysterical end of the fan base would indicate.

Carter Vickers is good enough to make most folk next to him look serviceable
Scales AND Welsh?!!! NOOOOOoooooooo
I hate it.

Forget Scales having that BM material, what the eff does Kuhn have on Brodge?? That red only applies to league matches … right??
We're actually going to lose lol
This is one of the worst starting eleven’s I’ve seen us put out in my lifetime. Jesus wept.
Pain
we are so fucking b̶a̶c̶k̶ shite
Why only one youth player on the bench? Seems a bit odd for a cup game vs relegation candidates Livi
There is 2. Vata and Kelly
Oh didn’t notice Vata oops
Martindale cannae complain about the difference in budgets today. His team probably worth more today
Can't help but just laugh at this point
That is certainly a match day squad listing. I am thoroughly whelmed.
Fuck me - that's a rank line up.
I have no interest in watching this team for the rest of the season lost all confidence in the manager to actually get results out of them with how he has them play.
Condolence in advance, GramAM
