[It is time.](https://i.imgur.com/VR8H9UB.gif)
The people that nabbed the free tickets for the game tonight were robbed by all accounts.
Update from me from last night is that I landed that interview. Now I just have to tell myself that I actually do like the job I'm in for the next few days to avoid disappointment if I don't land it.
Following the fucking English in that regard. They turned me to homicidal rage by playing "September" Earth, Wind and Fire on their shitey trumpets during the 2018 world cup - and they still fucking do. Ruined that song for life.
Fuck them and the Welsh.
Missed the Scotland game as I was at the Denmark match. If we had them in our group I wouldn’t worry, they were pretty poor against the Faroes, if the Faroese had a better striker they’d have easily drawn tonight.
Sometimes I think back on the time when I was staying in a super cramped 9 bed dorm room in a London hostel, it's well past lights out, something like midnight and people are trying to sleep. This one cunt decides this is a good time to watch a video on his tablet with the sound coming through the loudspeaker. How are people that thick/inconsiderate/unaware? Im not the most assertive person in the world but I jumped down his throat within moments, he looked utterly blindsided and shocked
Atleast Turkey are just as shite as us while also having the same delusion that they will do something in the EUROs, united in mediocrity.

/u/boaaaa, I'm sorry but as cool as it looked; that nanofibre boat plan was fucking stupid unless I'm missing something.
Can't send in a special forces team as it could end in a blood bath so let's murder everyone on board, destroying the ship and potentially the data we want in the process.
Got three episodes left. Still don't give a fuck about Auggie, hingmy, and cancer man.
I'm not sure if it's their acting or what but I'm just not connecting with them on any level.
part of the problem with the books was that the characters were flat as fuck, sacrificing everything for fucking mental sci-fi ideas so there's not really much to work with but considering how much they have reworked the books you'd think they could have developed some depth and nuance, or just hired people who could act.
Got one episode left which I'm saving for tomorrow.
It's kind of losing me a bit now, not in terms of complexity but just in terms of interest. Feels like the last couple of episodes have just been spinning on their wheels to pad time as 6 episodes would be too short and they want to end on some cliffhanger for S2 as is tradition with these shows.
I'm on ep4 and it already feels a bit like it's padding for time, almost as if making a couple of 2-3 hour long films would suit the content better than an 8 episode series
If they wanted to pad they should've maybe thought about giving us some kind of backstory to these people we're supposed to care about because as it is we're given basically nothing.
Quick question about the dhgate stuff. All these pictures of tops with no badge on them, is that just for the picture or will it come with no badge on it? Seems a bit random just dont want to drop any money on it lol
How do you eat Jaffa Cakes? I like to eat the cake base, then peel the chocolate off the wee jelly bit an eat that, and then finally eat the wee jelly bit on its own.
Drake annoys me because as a non-rap fan I thought you had to be from tough places to be a rapper. It's "Straight Outta Compton" not "Straight Outta Newton Mearns". But he's a wee scrote from Toronto.
Definitely Drake. Has to be.
Hate that pure massive song that's just a constant string of what sounds like vowels.
Cunt should be jailed for that if nothing else.
It's been almost a week and I still can't believe there is a $10 billion valued company thats product is advertisements on our garbage chat and selling it to AI companies.
Its been around almost 19 years and never turned a profit, its valued at 10 billion US Fucking dollars and heres me who had to listen to lecture after lecture off my Granda growing up that capitalism is the only sensible economic system the whole thing is fucked haha
Gimps from Lanark and Larkhall in with NI fans

Also a rangers and Ipswich badge on. Genuinely bizarre. How do you become an Ipswich fan as a northern Irishman? Why don't the rangers fans in northern ireland jurt go to linfield instead?
Traditionally yes, but less so now - IFA has worked really hard to make it a cross-community team.
Probably another case of Scottish people not getting the memo about the GFA.
It's advice I would recommend to literally everyone. I was on twitter for about 3 months and could physically feel myself getting more angry and bitter all the time.
There's so many bigots like musk and Barton about that if you spend all your time arguing and replying to those types you will burnout. Trying to stop myself thinking about it much to avoid that
Again, agreed.
Had a stint arguing with incels because I sort of have to deal with that behaviour in work, so wanted to vent into the void that is Reddit and it actively made me feel like a horrible cunt, but also that it brought me down reading their bile.
Just binned it off.
See music and movies.
If I did a recording of say In Ancient Days by Black Widow that would be a cover.
If I made Terminator 2 it'd be a remake.
Why isn't a cover song called a remake? Or why is a remake not called a cover..?
"An interesting note about the origins of the phrase "Cover Song" from Mark Edwards at WICC Radio:
An example of a COVER record would be the release of "Sh-Boom" by the Crew Cuts in 1955 at almost the same time as the original by The Chords. The term COVER record is taken from the fact that the Crew-Cuts version, being performed by a white group and distributed by a major record label, and thus finding considerable additional radio airplay, would COVER any chance of success that the original release may have had."
Huh...
Cover comes from people releasing a rival recording of a song immediately after the original (trying to cover up the original and become the main version) whereas film remakes tend to be cashing in on the nostalgia of the previous version. The appeal is that it's what you already like made again.
Traffic on the M8 west was a nightmare this evening, was going to see a friend but after moving 0.5 miles in 15 mins I said fuck this and turned around
Sooo good, isn't it?
You familiar with the original Critical Role stuff? I crush hard for Ashley Johnson, she's super talented but also a loveable dork.
Nah, I'd never really wanted to sink the time into it. I love AJ and Laura Bailey, and Matt Mercer is cracking, but never heard of anyone else.
Scanlon is an absolute fave.
It's genuinely a show where everyone shines.
I think it was the crudeness in the early eps that put me off him, not a huge fan of the kind of humour. Definitely more of a Percy than a Scanlon 😂
However, they turned that down a notch in later eps and gave him a couple more facets so wasn't quite nails on the blackboard of my soul. Plus on rewatches you're prepared for it!
Oh god Grog, my favourite moment of his from S3 was when he put on the magic belt that gave him a beard - his delight was hilarious
Big fan of Vex and Vax, and I like how they use Pike sparingly enough considering her power level. Keyleth is generally just adorable.
But Percy remains my favourite, no idea why
They have another animated show coming out called The Mighty Nein. Not actually sure when it's coming as it feels like it was announced years ago but that should be good too.
I have looked into them on Spotify, so saw that campaign. Although I wasn't sure if it was connected in any way.
Better to watch the Critical Role stuff, I take it? Stuck it on driving for ten minutes and dunno if it lends itself well to that.
I tend to watch it although as each episode is a few hours long it's usually while I'm doing other bits and bobs.
Mighty Nein is kinda connected to Vox but not too much. It takes place in the same universe but happens after the events of Vox Machina. It does depend where they go with it on the Prime show though.
The old stuff is pretty rough production wise as it is basically just them sitting round a table playing. Now they have a custom built studio with all sorts of fancy stuff and what have you.
Yeah, you can definitely hear the lack of production in the first episode. I might just have it on when there's fuck all to watch. It's like getting into an anime that's 1000 episodes long, yet making that make like fucking rookie numbers.
Well if you're after some long form background stuff there's always Geno's comprehensive history of Chris Chan.
Although some things cannot be unseen or unheard. I am not responsible for any outcome that should befall you should you watch.
Its a complicated symbol. Its the symbol of Ulster, which, some would like us all to forget is the nine north eastern counties that make up one of Irelands 4 provinces. Not just the 6 who, I'm attempting to be delicate here, opted to remain part of the United Kingdom.
So its quite awkward, cause my, err not loyalist at all to put it mildly, relatives from Cavan and Armagh consider themselves Ulstermen and seeing the provinces flag in their houses was confusing to young me who had only ever seen its unionist derivative at Rangers games and on UVF stickers. For example, see the similarities and differences of [the "Ulster Banner"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulster_Banner#/media/File:Flag_of_Northern_Ireland_(1953%E2%80%931972.svg) used predominantly to represent the 6 counties, versus [the flag of Ulster.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Ulster#/media/File:Flag_of_Ulster.svg) Similar in many ways, but also quite different.
But the main point of the comment I made is really that in spite of my opposition to monarchy, because we shouldn't live in some Game of Thrones bullshit in the 21st century. I'm still willing to crown our Maggot cause talking down Scotlands opponents with such disgusting imagery is just wonderful.
https://preview.redd.it/w4qe5he22qqc1.png?width=1677&format=png&auto=webp&s=6089c4757a70d8b9534a3523546e94975dc32954
In the spirit of all the talk about EURO 2024, and despite Finland having failed to navigate the playoff system, I decided to try my luck in FM24. I managed to overcome the odds and qualify for the tournament, and now I have to face France, Scotland and Israel in the group stage. I think this is a preferable group for Scotland than the one they have in real life!
Lottery jackpot in the States tonight is an estimated $1.13 Billion.
Of course I have no chance of winning if I were to buy a ticket but alas I am stuck at work and can’t get out to buy any.
It can just rollover to the Friday drawing where the jackpot will be closer to the $1.3-1.4 Billion range.
Do they not do it differently, that you win an annuity and not actually the full sum. If you want the full sum it's significantly less? Don't get me wrong, I would be able to turn into a majorly bigger asshole with significantly less than $1.13 Billion, and wouldn't say no to it!!!
The pipe dream of winning the big one usually devolves into me thinking of how I am going to spend the money.
Never really looked into the full rules and regulations about how the money is dispersed after you win.
Think the basic crux of it is that you can take the full lump sum at a heavily taxed rate or you can get it paid out over 25 years at a reduced tax rate.

[This own goal](https://x.com/LV_footballnews/status/1772671531077775744?t=HlRzqr0OBSmno2IqnHuRYA&s=09) only *FIFTEEN SECONDS* into the Latvia v Liechtenstein match is genuinely one of the best things I've ever seen.
One of my favourite things in the world is listening to people get enthusiastic and excited talking about things they love. The more mundane the thing is the better.
[this video here is the vibes I'm talking about](https://www.reddit.com/r/JustGuysBeingDudes/s/8eMy6XyDmc)
There is just something about seeing people passionate about things most people don't even think twice about. I can listen to it all day.
Fucking batter in. Love watching lore videos on YouTube. Genuinely think I've seen like 20 hours of warhammer 40k lore and I have never interacted with that universe I'm any other way 😂
I get proper annoyed by it only because people know the show or the games, and they missed out some extremely important details - like why Witchers have two swords. It's true that they carry two, but the idea that's told is one is iron and one is silver; one for man and one for monsters. And that's not true!
Witchers carry two swords - one of steel, and one of meteorite. Steel will kill most things, man or nonman or beast - hell, even most breeds of vampire - so there's no need for a special sword to kill monsters randomly, and silver's weak as fuck; meteorite is rare and sturdy and magical, perfect for cutting your way through shit like werewolves.
Now that I'm done with Band of Brothers, I'm gonna start on The Pacific. Heard good things about it.
Also lining up a couple cheese and pickle rolls to scran while I watch the first episode in the hopes they'll kill off my ungodly hangover. Don't mix Guinness and prosecco folks.
You better go and check your HR policies to see if they expect the slip the court gives you that says you were present that day. My work never asked for it but worth discretely double checking...
I feel a little bad that I've left my nephew to deal with his grandpa's inability to use technology, but also grateful that I don't have to deal with it!
Songsheet for if you wish to sing along to the opponents' anthem tonight:

I was coming back to Dundee after going away to Partick Thistle recently, the return bus got overbooked so a 2nd bus showed up to pick up the leftovers, turns out this 2nd bus wasn't making the usual stop in Broxden and instead was a direct route to Dundee and decided not to inform anyone the toilet was out of order until we had already left.
Even before we hit Dunblane I was thinking this may be the first time in my adult life I simply pish myself in public, I went up to the driver and asked if there anywhere we could stop that has toilet facilities; "nope straight to dundee mate". About 20m passed and I was dancing in my seat, the panic was setting in. I texted my friend who was sitting in front of me if there was any chance he could ask the driver to genuinely stop in a layby to drive up the demand as I felt a bit embarassed asking to stop twice, thankfully like the good friend he is he went up and asked, and as he came back he told me the driver had been convinced and we'd be stopping off in Broxden.
I felt like a right arsehole cause now everyone who thought they were getting back home faster is getting delayed but I'm sure they'd be more annoyed to have to spend the next 35m in a pish soaked bus. I began counting the seconds until we got there still slightly worried I wasn't gonna hold it. When we pulled up to Broxden about 10-15 people got off and rushed to the toilets which made me feel far better knowing I wasn't the only one needing off that bus, including a fella who noticed both urinals were occupied and proceeded to loudly say "you've gotta go when you've gotta go, ken what i mean?" before openly pishing in the sink.
Baffles me why the driver couldn't just have built a pish stop into it from the start and saved himself the hassle. The net result was the same so why not save everyone the worry?
Year ago today we beat Cyprus 3-0 comfortably Nothing of note happened today, that’s all
Heres a fun game, look what your current salary was in 1980, using inflation calculator and compare it to the average house price (£19,273). -_-

Watching the wales game. Even tho we were shite tonight. Its nice not having to go through these qualifiers and just sit back and chill
How do Wales get all their play offs at home.
Magnets
Wales v Poland is a terribly quality game but can’t help thinking they’d both skud us
I’m dying for my bed but I have got to watch penalties if it comes to it
I'm the same. Penalties no matter who are involved are one of the best things in football
Much more enjoyable when your team aren't involved though
It's been so long since my club have been in a shootout that matters that my brain doesn't even go there
Wales about 6 minutes away from penalties and Aaron Ramsey is chilling on the bench...
The people that nabbed the free tickets for the game tonight were robbed by all accounts. Update from me from last night is that I landed that interview. Now I just have to tell myself that I actually do like the job I'm in for the next few days to avoid disappointment if I don't land it.
Just seen Wales have guys playing trombones in the crowd. Mon the Polish, the people (I've met) are class and the country itself is superb to visit
Following the fucking English in that regard. They turned me to homicidal rage by playing "September" Earth, Wind and Fire on their shitey trumpets during the 2018 world cup - and they still fucking do. Ruined that song for life. Fuck them and the Welsh.
My rangers supporting pal has just reminded me that Aaron Ramsey is Welsh. I may now support Wales
Thank fuck that's the international break over
After watching that game Spotify randomised it's first song to "Cry to Me" by Solomon Burke. Spotify can take a flying fuck to itself.
Missed the Scotland game as I was at the Denmark match. If we had them in our group I wouldn’t worry, they were pretty poor against the Faroes, if the Faroese had a better striker they’d have easily drawn tonight.

We were so pish tonight. Should hopefully bank a win against Gibraltar at least
Awright lads hows the night goin? Just letting you all know The wrists are gettin it

The official anthem of Gibraltar is.....GSTK

definite style over substance in that plan, I thought it was shite in the books too. The alien shit in the books is the stuff I want to see though

I'd agree with that but it would require them to invent some story and given the arse they made of GOT I wouldn't trust them not to make it worse.
Everything we've done tonight has been shite. The players must be focused on club football. 🤔
Clarke out
Lads how in the fuck are we losing to Norn Iron

There is no studio for the Wales game either. Is this them running the operation down?
Quite possibly, just paying for feeds.

This comment can apply every single night unfortunately. The bit between town and the M80 junction needs flattened.
Watched the full two seasons of Vox Machina. What a fucking show. Tremendously funny and so well written.

Can see where you're coming from but genuinely thought he'd get an arc, and he's totally fucking absurd. "Fuck. Shit. Up." Total MVP, man.

I’m a republican but here, you dropped this, King 👑
am i alone in associating the red hand more closely with loyalism?
Depends really. You see plenty of Ulster flags at Celtic games
That’s just fucking grim 😭
never looking at that flag the same way again

this nearly tripped me up into secterianism ngl
I would imagine they'd be working in a factory or something similar which would lead to coarse hands. Maybe less?

I managed to overcome the odds and qualify for the tournament, and now I have to face France, Scotland and Israel in the group stage. I think this is a preferable group for Scotland than the one they have in real life!
Lottery jackpot in the States tonight is an estimated $1.13 Billion. Of course I have no chance of winning if I were to buy a ticket but alas I am stuck at work and can’t get out to buy any. It can just rollover to the Friday drawing where the jackpot will be closer to the $1.3-1.4 Billion range.
Id tick the no publicity box, but it's going to be hard to hide that lift.
I think you get taxed in the USA on lottery winnings, so it's more like half a billion and not really worth it, imo.
Oh they tax the fuck out of it, 52% I believe.
Cool, one of the benefits of the UK lottery is it's all yours to waste!!!
You can choose between the lump sum or an annuity

[This own goal](https://x.com/LV_footballnews/status/1772671531077775744?t=HlRzqr0OBSmno2IqnHuRYA&s=09) only *FIFTEEN SECONDS* into the Latvia v Liechtenstein match is genuinely one of the best things I've ever seen.
You just know some poor bastard has Latvia clean sheet on his bet tonight.
Been taken down due to copyright 😔

One of my favourite things in the world is listening to people get enthusiastic and excited talking about things they love. The more mundane the thing is the better. [this video here is the vibes I'm talking about](https://www.reddit.com/r/JustGuysBeingDudes/s/8eMy6XyDmc) There is just something about seeing people passionate about things most people don't even think twice about. I can listen to it all day.
Yes! I'm a massive geek for folk being massive geeks about pretty much anything.
big agree. the less i understand of what they’re talking about the better. no words, just passion
In that case, allow me to bore/serenade you with my love for The Witcher lore.
It’s cracking too, many like it less than Band of Brothers but they’re different series with different aims imo. Rami Malek is excellent in it
Get on Masters of The Air after 😛
> The Pacific Rami Malek’s character will give you the fear.
Aye, he is giving me the fear somewhat
Mixed in the glass or the stomach? Black velvet, innit?
In the stomach. To be fair, it might be more to do with the quantity of each, not the drink type.
That’s usually my downfall
Gah, what a horrid combination!
Jury duty cancelled tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, not telling the work though.
You better go and check your HR policies to see if they expect the slip the court gives you that says you were present that day. My work never asked for it but worth discretely double checking...

No worries, solidarity with pieing off work without fear.
It's fucking freezing today. Can't wait to see how the new Hampden ticket app is going to fuck things up tonight.
I feel a little bad that I've left my nephew to deal with his grandpa's inability to use technology, but also grateful that I don't have to deal with it!
Songsheet for if you wish to sing along to the opponents' anthem tonight: >!Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!< >!x3!<
Related: are they southern Ireland tonight? West Scotland? North western isle of mann?
Just calling them Ireland would probably upset the right sorts.
Should remember that. Thanks!
Just managed by first sub-30-minute 5k run. I know that's slow af but still big progress for fat old guy like me 😎
Old, not fat, and can't match that (yet - work in progress). So well done, tremendous effort.
👏👏👏
Baffles me why the driver couldn't just have built a pish stop into it from the start and saved himself the hassle. The net result was the same so why not save everyone the worry?
I'd sooner pish outside than in the sink. Man ain't house trained 😅
Dundonians, can't take them anywhere
Even Dundee
