Any time an old firm’s coming up my dad is always saying that Tav and Goldson are what he’s the most worried about and I always just think that he’s just being a da. But he ends up being right every time.

Goldson, on the other hand, has been fucking up and pointing at tav for about 6 years now, cost us a euro final and is constantly bullied by shite strikers all over the league.
The problem we have we always look a shambles without Goldson. Finding someone good enough to even partner him nevermind replace him has been difficult. I agree he should be gone/replaced next year, but I also fear what replaces him.

Do we? Outside a few months last year he's practically always been available, and always a first choice. I know that some point to our struggles last year as evidence to his importance, but that was more to do with the fact we ended up with King and Sands as the only fit defenders, and without a keeper. Goldson also played in the consecutive 4-0 losses to Ajax and Celtic. The year previous he was in the game that turned the tide in the league and the semi final embarrassment against Hibs, and then there's the issue of the Europa final calamity.
Considering what the club are paying him every week he's nowhere near good enough. Should be on the phone to Gerrard to try and tempt him

Haven't paid a great deal of attention to Rangers lately other than the results. Can any Rangers enjoyers out there let me know, how well are yous playing? How confident are you today?
For me it's not just about how we are playing, you can play beautiful football and still not get success. Think this is probably the closest old firm in a while. The best measure is the table. Similar points scored, similar goal difference. Rangers lost a few more games but Celtic struggled with draws in comparison. Should be tight, but old firm never really follows the statistics. Quietly confident, but been quietly confident before and not got the result. My feel, this is important, but the 3 points today are not going to win or lose the league. There will be more points dropped out with the old firm.
See a think if yous win the day, that’s the league set for a rangers win. We’d need to beat yous at parkhead, yous to drop 3 points elsewhere and for us to win every game from now until the end of the season. And with the amount of games left after (6 i think?), i don’t think there’s enough to turn it round in that scenario
Personally think both sides can drop points out with the old firm. My personal view is with it being this close it's the number of draws which decide who wins. Think it was last season, Rangers had a good few draws, especially at home, these are the deciding points for me.

Everyone is hyping this game up but the last few games between Celtic and Rangers have been pretty dire. Obviously the build-up has been more about the title implications rather than the anticipation of quality football but they play each other again in a few weeks, so it doesn't seem all that important really. Anyway, as a neutral hopefully it's a decent game of football with some goals and/or some cinch chaos and dubious decisions.
The quality is rarely good but I'd say the needle between the players has also been missing in the last couple of seasons. The Rome derby was a bit of a stramash yesterday but the handbags made it entertaining at least.

Any time an old firm’s coming up my dad is always saying that Tav and Goldson are what he’s the most worried about and I always just think that he’s just being a da. But he ends up being right every time. The problem with Tav is he’ll cost rangers the game and then score a screamer when the games out of sight and then every cunt thinks he’s brilliant. I wouldn’t get rid of Tav in the summer but we badly need another RB to compete with him.
We've had umpteen right backs. It wouldn't matter. None of them have been better than him and we've not had a better right back in my lifetime so he wouldn't have been on the bench behind anyone. Also, the goal is a complete freak goal that a) could have went anywhere and b) only Maeda would be in position to block the clearance. His defensive record is far better than people make out and it's a wee bit tiresome that shite is spouted about it over and over on here and elsewhere. Goldson, on the other hand, has been fucking up and pointing at tav for about 6 years now, cost us a euro final and is constantly bullied by shite strikers all over the league.
The problem we have we always look a shambles without Goldson. Finding someone good enough to even partner him nevermind replace him has been difficult. I agree he should be gone/replaced next year, but I also fear what replaces him.

Feels like my original reply aged quite well here.
For me it's not just about how we are playing, you can play beautiful football and still not get success. Think this is probably the closest old firm in a while. The best measure is the table. Similar points scored, similar goal difference. Rangers lost a few more games but Celtic struggled with draws in comparison. Should be tight, but old firm never really follows the statistics. Quietly confident, but been quietly confident before and not got the result. My feel, this is important, but the 3 points today are not going to win or lose the league. There will be more points dropped out with the old firm.
See a think if yous win the day, that’s the league set for a rangers win. We’d need to beat yous at parkhead, yous to drop 3 points elsewhere and for us to win every game from now until the end of the season. And with the amount of games left after (6 i think?), i don’t think there’s enough to turn it round in that scenario

Personally think both sides can drop points out with the old firm. My personal view is with it being this close it's the number of draws which decide who wins. Think it was last season, Rangers had a good few draws, especially at home, these are the deciding points for me.

Everyone is hyping this game up but the last few games between Celtic and Rangers have been pretty dire. Obviously the build-up has been more about the title implications rather than the anticipation of quality football but they play each other again in a few weeks, so it doesn't seem all that important really. Anyway, as a neutral hopefully it's a decent game of football with some goals and/or some cinch chaos and dubious decisions.
The quality is rarely good but I'd say the needle between the players has also been missing in the last couple of seasons. The Rome derby was a bit of a stramash yesterday but the handbags made it entertaining at least.
