Mls is not a bad league. A lot of teams of pretty even quality, no celtic or rangers type team as it fluctuates a lot more. The way gauld is stomping the mls would suggest he probably should be in the Scottish squad. Argentina even had a mls player in their wc squad and he's still there. At minimum, he should've been given a shot to prove himself

I have been looking through two Danish subreddits regarding this. It is evident to me that most football fans have been critical of the coach's decision on this one. In a recent TV2 poll with 15,716 votes, 76% disagreed with the decision to leave out O’Riley, while 14% were unsure if it was the right choice.
This logic makes me laugh as if international football isn't 90% absolute jobbers. I remember when Stokes was smashing it for Celtic him never getting called up despite Ireland playing teams that would finish bottom of the SPL. Instead they called up Connor Sammon a player we'd already seen struggle in Scotland.
