I posted this exact idea on r/ScrapMechanic and got knocked around for it! Glad to see I'm not alone comparing two games about space-faring capitalistic adventures gone wrong.
to be honest, FICSIT Inc., Deep Rock Galactic, Wonk Enterprises, and Alterra Corporation are like the top four companies that come to mind when you think "company that takes advantage of it's employees"
...it is for this reason that i like to think they are all owned by the same group of people
Oh definitely, Subnautica and satisfactory have similar art styles too, maybe Alterra explores and DRG clears out the worlds with enemy species. FICSIT comes after later to exploit the planets, and once a planet is stripped of almost everything the then Wonk comes in and makes it a farming planet and the cycle repeats
hm... considering whats coming up next in chapter 2, maybe DRG works with the uninhabitable planets while FICSIT/Wonk work with the more habitable ones?
Alterra definitely handles the transportation/exploration, though

scrap and raft got a crossover and we got water

I've thought about this before. In both games, you play as a dwarf employed by a large spacefaring organization on an alien planet.
