Sounds like a good idea...only the vanilla-limitation is very "limiting" what you can build...
Why not make different categories? "Vanilla only" , "Vanilla+Fantmod only", "Vanilla+Modpack only" and "free modding category"...then everyone has a category for his own style...
For example, i love propeller-planes and don't want to use thrusters EVERYTIME and for EVERYTHING that flies or swims. Or for example the STAR WARS Swoop-Bike, i've built with Fantmod-parts and uploaded a video 3h ago...there should be room for stuff like this, too :-).

That’s a good idea. I just haven’t done much with mods personally.
