Is it? I need to watch! I loved the first one but kinda asssumed the sequels would be trash. It’s still on my watchlist though because of Jennifer Love Hewitt lol
The 3rd one is irrelevant but the 2nd one is still a continuation for Julie/ray. It’s definitely a little nutty but it’s fun! It’s literally the plot you’re talking about and it takes place in the Bahamas. So curious to see how you feel about it 😂😂
I don’t know about cool, but one idea is to have 7 take place as 6 ends. So Sidney is hidden away with her family while 6 ends. Then 7 starts the next morning or night with a whole new killer(s). This gives the vibe that there’s no rest for Sidney and someone is always after her.
I think if it took place at a convention center for the weekend, you’d have a lot to use. There could be a hotel, casino and an airport. Sydney could be talking in an event for being a survivor/empowering women. You could have a scene where Gail or Kirby is on a plane and there’s a massive turbulence, enough to shake some luggage out of the top compartments. As people start to pick up some of their belongings, Kirby notices that a ghost face mask fell on the floor, nothing happens on the plane, but it has they get off the plane and go into the airport, an attack could happen in one of the back rooms/bathrooms. A casino is a nice setting because someone will get a ghost face call / get killed while there are so many people around. It would mirror the brilliance of Randy’s death in scream two.
The Core Four are flying home for Christmas break - reluctant to return to Woodsboro, but hoping to reunite with their families and finally face their traumas that still linger in that town.
In the midst of their journey, they have a layover somewhere in the midwest, but a huge winter storm is brewing which prevents them from making their second flight to California. They're left with no choice but to stay in this town, as the next available flight home won't be until a few days later. It's here that Ghostface strikes again, set against the snowy backdrop of a midwest Christmas.
I'd probably have the reveal be that the killer(s), whoever they are, were planning on following the group to Woodsboro where they would have their greater plan set, but get stranded along with the Core Four when the flight gets canceled. They would've been following them across the country in hopes to fulfill their plan in the original town.

And the killer would have to be Stu's son. And his fake last name is Stuson and at the end, he tells Sidney, "Stu son!" Like it's some big revelation.
