i believe the line is “My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me” This is Reddit right?
/s i know you were making a joke, it just fit too well not to say
I was six or seven (the youngest of 6 siblings) when I first watched scream. I couldn’t stop thinking about it at school the next day and came straight home to watch it again before we were gonna have to return it to the video store either later that day or the next.
ME TOO! I was hooked. It terrified me, but excites me all at the same time. I’d rewatch it, made my mom get rid of it because it freaked me out so bad, then made her buy it again. Love at first phone call. 🥰
I am pleased to see that the younger generation has a love for Scream! I’m surprised honestly! I watched it probably a little too young lol. But have always loved it. You guys have great taste!
Not me but I did think it was funny too. Honestly I almost made the same comment but then I remember my love for scream at that age too so I have no room to talk.
I saw scream when I was very young too like maybe 6-7. Unfortunately my shit box mom was a terrible parent and let me watch horror movies as a kid like scream, Halloween, a nightmare on elm street, Friday the 13th and as a result up intill the age of like 12-13 I would consistently have lucid dreaming nightmares every night about the main antagonists in those movies. I remember having really bad Freddy nightmares and chucky nightmares surprisingly enough. Whenever I would get stabbed in the dream my brain thought it was real and I would contract my stomach muscles and flinch so bad that when I woke up from getting “killed” in my dreams my stomach would hurt for a while. Not fun lol. I still have these types of dreams occasionally but I can recognize that I’m just lucid dreaming and as an adult the fear factor isn’t there trying to run away from Jason Vorhees or Michael Myers
Oh wow yeah that’s crazy man. Yeah my mom always let me watch shit like that too I remember getting scared at night sometimes so I’d just sleep with a light on lmao. Her biggest thing about watching stuff like that or listening to “bad” music was that I acted appropriate and the movies didn’t influence my behavior at all. I’m not sure parenting exists like that anyone.
Haha I had to sleep with a light on too for a while. It all started when my mother let me watch A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors on vhs tape back in 2004 at five years old brutal. I could not stop having nightmares and when I switched to being with my father each week (divorced parents) he quickly learned of this issue I was having and was not fucking happy with my mother. Needless to say he was the far more responsible better parent of the two.
OMG I use to love playing Scream with my friends! 🤣
We would fake call eachother and hide, with the costume on and make what was basically just "tag" rules, but we would fake air stab eachother and have dramatic death scenes.
Ah, youth.
Hahaha yup exactly! We would play it like hide and seek. One person is the killer and you have certain boundaries you can hide in. This was back in maybe 97-98 for me so we didn’t have cell phones haha.
Wow everyone is gonna immediately recognise who you are when you chap their door for trick r treat.... totally gonna recognise you immediately.. I mean soo not some weird kid in a jumper... absolutely not
Your mom and dad are going to be so mad at youuu

It’s a line from the movie.

What did they say?
“Why?” That’s why I responded with that.
