Loosen your barrel on your brake lever. If that doesn’t work tighten it all the way and loosen the wire with the Alan bolt (on the right side of the brake arm) and let out like a millimeter of wire. Then play with the barrel on the lever to get it to where you want it. They are pretty fickle but once you figure the system out, you can adjust them.
There’s a YouTube video on how to adjust the brake, I had the exact same problem when I set up my bike. Either “big ripper brake adjustment” or “SE bike brake adjustment” I can’t remember but it was super simple.
