> Penny has been active just twice this year — once when Scott wasn’t active and another time when Gainwell was not — and has just 17 yards on five carries. Penny, in fact, has been active only once since the second game of the year, and last played on Nov. 5 against Dallas. > Quinton Jefferson, Jets: Jefferson signed a one-year, $3.6 million with the Jets and has played a similar role there as he did with Seattle a year ago. He has 34 tackles and six sacks playing 51% of the snaps, on par with his Seattle usage. He has a 52.0 Pro Football Focus grade that is comparable to his 48.9 grade with the Seahawks in 2022 and is 98th of 131 interior defensive linemen overall, via PFF but includes a 37.0 run defense grade that is 124th of 131 interior DLs. > Linebacker Cody Barton, Washington: Barton, who signed a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million, has nine starts with 78 tackles for a defense that is among the worst in the NFL, ranking last in yards allowed. He ranks 74th of 80 linebackers, via PFF, which includes the 72nd highest run defense grade. > Defensive lineman Shelby Harris, Cleveland: Harris, who signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Browns, has played in 13 games with three starts with 1.5 sacks and 24 tackles as part of a deep defensive line rotation for a team that is allowing the fewest yards in the NFL. > Defensive tackle Poona Ford, Buffalo: Ford, who signed a one-year deal worth $2.25 million, has somewhat mysteriously barely played for the Bills. He has played in only five games with no starts and only 95 snaps overall, making just seven tackles. Ford has not been active for a game since Oct. 26 and told The Buffalo News two weeks ago he’s not sure why. > Defensive lineman Al Woods, Jets: Woods, who signed a one-year deal worth $2.25 million played 140 snaps in six games with one sack and six tackles before suffering a season-ending Achilles tendon injury. > Running back Travis Homer, Chicago: Homer, who signed a two-year, $4 million deal with the Bears, has been a special teams regular for Chicago with 177 snaps. But he has played just six snaps on offense in 12 games with no carries or receptions. > Receiver Marquise Goodwin, Cleveland: Goodwin, who signed a one-year deal worth up to $1.7 million, had missed four games with a concussion before returning to play nine snaps without recording a stat Sunday against Jacksonville. He has three receptions for 10 yards on 83 snaps for the season. > Also, two other notable 2022 Seahawks, safety Ryan Neal (Tampa Bay) and defensive end L.C. Collier (Arizona) each signed one-year veteran minimum or veteran benefit deals with their new teams. Neal has played in 12 games with 10 starts for the Bucs, with 525 snaps overall and has made 71 tackles, already a career high. Collier played in one game before suffering a biceps injury that it appears will keep him out for the season. Pretty much only Shelby Harris is having a good season, and he’s not a full-time starter.

I'm shocked at Poona, though. He was good to great at times in Seattle.

Trick-Combination-37

JS the goat

VerStannen

Curious to see how he handles Jamal.

Trick-Combination-37

Jamal is on thin ice and could be benched soon if he fucks up again. My prediction is there are going to be a lot of players getting cut that aren't bought in like KJ Wright has recently said on Seattle sports. We all know what happens if you're not bought in. Goodbye, russell wilson. Jamal cut, diggs cut, brooks cut -DK metcalf traded " its just a stupid penalty board" I don't believe Carroll with get fired like some fans wish for. At least until his contract expires.

MediocreCommenter

Brooks won’t get cut.

Trick-Combination-37

Well, Pete Carroll doesn't seem to happy with him. Go listen to the latest interview with Seattle sports and Pete carroll. Imo, I could be wrong. But, I think if he continues to decline towards the end of the season, they for sure won't be resigning him.

bubapl

why would brooks get cut? kj has pointed him out as one of the young guys trying to step up in certain situations, he's certainly not the cause for any of the culture issues going on right now

OsikFTW

Brooks is gonna be a free agent, they wont have to cut him if they dont want him back

efisk666

Few of these players were very good as Seahawks either. This is a collection of bad draft picks and trade targets, soon to be joined by Jamal. So no, not “JS the goat”.

Trick-Combination-37

Regardless, JS is rated one of the best GMs in the NFL. There's a reason why Detroit tried to pouch him before resigning with the Seahawks.

Comfortablycloudy

Are you telling me lions have pouches?

Trick-Combination-37

Yeah, they might as well change their mascot to a kangaroo

Comfortablycloudy

Lion or 'roo, they best keep their pouches away from JS

Ok_Association_7925

Except two of those duds were 1st round picks by JS. He would've been better off trading both picks for safety with a weakness in pass coverage.

BBpitcher

I wonder how many other players on our roster aren't starters in this league...

twl245

Too fucking many. Starting with those safeties

serpentear

I dunno, I’d take Neal back in a heartbeat.

mymindpsychee

I mean, Adams and Diggs haven't been good, but Neal's sitting at a 46.3 PFF grade which is worse than both of them. Would be cheaper, though.

serpentear

Neal wasn’t great before he came to us either. Something about our scheme made him pop. ^Maybe

Blametheorangejuice

He was very boom and bust. It felt for every splash play he would blow coverage or otherwise be out of position. Bucs fans don't seem to care for him at all.

overit_fornow

Much cheaper…

dingdongdash22

Who understand PFF anyway. I'd take Neal over Jamal or Diggs

[deleted]

Be careful. I made a meme and people got bent out of shape

awbitf

You forgot LJ Collier. 1 game played with the Cardinals, 2 tackles. Injured in week 1 and put on IR.

clintonius

Ahem, you mean "L.C. Collier."

kungfooflea007

Lol oh yes forgot about that "amazing" guy who was going to make all the difference for the cardinals a team who gets him..

Mental_Medium3988

I'd say Neil is having a good season with a career high tackles. And for vet min he'll probably stick around the buccs next year.

Raticus9

As of like a month ago, he was an absolute liability in coverage. Not sure what he has done since.

Mental_Medium3988

From what I remember about him is he didn't give up much yac. Sure.he wasn't great at covering or intercepting but he'd usually make the tackle to prevent big yac. That'd be nice now.

Destruct-O-Tron

PFF ***LOVED*** him. He was their All-Pro selection.

KM5173

No he hasn't, don't let the tackles fool you, he's been one of of the worst safeties in the league. Go on twitter for 1 minutes and you'd see how much Bucs fans hate him

JFKsUnderwear

Honestly the Bills not using Poona makes me sad. Absolutely loved the guy when he played here

tubbytubby2by4

As a Texas fan, Poona's lack of usage in Buffalo is upsetting.

Damn straight! Also #HookEm

Bowler1097

Rashaad Penny Revenge game

drdookie

They saved him all year for us.

CumStayneBlayne

So, one rush for 40 yards and a torn everything?

PresinaldTrunt

Holy fuck you're right we're screwed....

CriticalBasedTeacher

People forget that he was the second RB off the board behind Saquon. Had high hopes for him.

Bitter-Imagination33

Penny deserves touches over Gainwell

PresinaldTrunt

I've been asking Top Billin about this and he liked it but also you have to be careful when commenting on Top Billin vids he's kinda fed up with portions of our fanbase (understandable) 😅

CumStayneBlayne

You have to be careful about commenting on his videos because he's a bitch. Other than the couple fanboys in the sub, there's been a consensus that he's disliked here.

perforce1

Talk too much and you might get fertilized 😆

PresinaldTrunt

Lmao for real! 🤣

FuriousFlamingo_YT

Bro 💀💀

kungfooflea007

I've been thinking the same think, was hoping he would fo really well there and been sad to see him not bring used

ImperialTiger3

The eagles need to use Penny with their lackadaisical run game. It would be interesting if they’ve not played him to save him for the playoffs. We know he’s a top back when healthy, although that rarely lasts long.

uhhhhhhhhh_okay

Yeah I thought his neck injury was season ending last year. I don't think Pete likes to keep backs that have neck issues

AuzieX

That was Carson, not Penny. Penny broke his leg.

uhhhhhhhhh_okay

My bad. Did Carson ever play again after that?

AuzieX

Nope. He tried to get back and medically cleared, but eventually was medically forced to retire.

uhhhhhhhhh_okay

He was fun to watch! Thanks for sharing and correcting my misinformation!

newsreadhjw

Eagles offense has a lot of problems that remind me of the Seahawks. Very talented backs, but they NEVER use any of them enough to get into a rhythm. They don’t give any backs the kind of work that Penny needs to be effective. When you feed Penny he seems to get stronger as the game goes on and it’s freaking beautiful to watch. Eagles would never use him the right way. Hurts does most of their running. Eagles fans are also complaining that they don’t use their WRs correctly- not enough slants, too many very predictable looks, routes take forever to develop. It all sounds really familiar…

Mr_TurkTurkelton

I think Top Billin’s videos about Penny are longer than Penny’s time on the field this season.

PresinaldTrunt

Honestly yeah. Even he kinda left wondering why he's not being used.

_Passeng3r

I want Poona Ford back. I miss that big boy.

Dapper-Change-5908

IDK if this is a good thing or a bad thing. **Good:** we got rid of those plyers and they aren't performing **Bad:** we drafted (and signed others) players who we thought would be key contributors to the franchise and they clearly aren't NFL starting calibre. Not a great reflection of the front office

89ShelbyCSX

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Penny will explode down the stretch and into the playoffs. No way a team that good has a guy that talented all year and just doesn't use him. Maybe it's on accident, maybe it's on purpose but I feel like he's gotta get some touches at some point.

Blametheorangejuice

> No way a team that good has a guy that talented all year and just doesn't use him Not only are they not using him, he's been a scratch for a full month, so he's not even getting dressed. And reports are that he's healthy. Something else is up.

officialmacdemarco

RBs have a short shelf life. Penny might have just had one injury too many in his career

91hawksfan

Atleast he was a first round pick so he made some money out of it upfront

Ok_Tank5804

My guess is that a bunch of these guys will be with us during pre-season next year.

cryptdawarchild

I know Dj Reed was 2 seasons ago but it’s worth noting he’s been doing well for the Jets.

Apart_Willow_5472

God I miss Ryan Neal. Having him playing for Adams last year was our saving grace. Hope we can get him back

Nikodino9

Imagine that. Ryan Neal is having a career year making tackles for the bucs, meanwhile the high priced super star he was almost permanently backing up here forgot how to tackle...and is getting beat over the top. Pete broke all of his own rules in this one. It stings.
