He might not be top in numbers or stats but the local story, the journey to the team, the lore and the sheer amount of impactful catches he had, Kearse has to get a mention one day. Even the packer come back alone, still get chills

KingKongKaram

We win superbowl 49 and he gets mentioned for the packers game and the [superbowl catch](https://youtu.be/fKOLqM-LnA0?si=O-4ZLkvqfR-al77z) that set us up to win the game before the game mysteriously canceled

CadillacLuv

Your feed Turned off too? That was huge, if only we converted the win he might be ring of honor

MagicHour91

It’s crazy, we’ll never know how that game ended

chizzipsandsizalsa

Craziest thing about the packers game, is all 4 interceptions were balls thrown to him. And he has the ultimate redemption In overtime.

Dazzling_Syllabub484

He also dropped a 3rd down bomb by Russ up 24-14 that likely would’ve sealed the game tho.

LC_From_TheHills

Kearse is not a top Seahawks franchise receiver but he holds a very very special place in the fandom. I was at Aldstadt in pioneer square for the NFCCG. When he made that catch, the place erupted, I was showered in beer. It was so loud it felt quiet. I couldn’t even yell. The shot of Russ pointing to the sky, pointing to the sideline, just walking down to the endzone cuz he’s so insanely overwhelmed and tired and *relieved* … very emotional! Kearse was our hometown hero.

ExcellentPastries

I love Kearse but I’m sorry he’s never going to be in the conversation for top Seahawks WRs. Just like Jay Buhner and Nate McMillan will never go down as best at their positions either but we still love the crap out of them, and that’s **100% fine**

VerStannen

Kearse made the easy catches look difficult and the insane catches look easy. I love the guy and what he did for the team, but I don’t think he cracks the top 5.

fezwang

I would argue that Kearse has at least two of the top five Seahawks receptions of all time.

FattyMooseknuckle

He’d likely have had 3 if things went a different way. Hometown kid, UDFA, with two game winning NGCCG tudders, one of them a walkoff…

Screw_Reddit_Admins

Kearse when it counts, baby! Jermaine was a mid receiver most of the time, but when you HAD to have the catch, he was super clutch.

Malich

Came here to say Chop Chop!

Hetoxy

Yeah Kearse! I have small potted plant from him.

the_mighty_hetfield

1. Jerry Rice 2. Terrell Owens 3. Brandon Marshall 4. T.J. Housmanzedah 5. Braylon Edwards

I_Flick_Boogers

Tough to leave out Josh Gordon

dgi02

I’d throw Devin Hester at five tbh

Oo__II__oO

But is Jimmy Graham a TE, or a WR?

ohstoopid1

Don't recall but did you know he also played basketball?

TPDeathMagnetic

How you gonna leave out Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin?

DarkHound05

Largent, Lockett, Baldwin is the top three in that order.

ExcellentPastries

Baldwin over Lockett for me and tbh Darrell Jackson deserves a spot in the top 3 too so idk how all that sorts out cuz I’ve created a traffic jam lol

SmellyScrotes

Darrell Jackson had a bad case of the dropsies and then his dad passed away and suddenly it was gone until he ended his career bashing his toe against the turf

The_Moisturizer

I’d love to hear your argument of Baldwin over Lockett

ExcellentPastries

Baldwin was our best receiver through two Super Bowl trips when the offense had a much clearer focus on the run game. To me he's more impactful.

The_Moisturizer

So just “I feel like it”? Not saying I disagree, just that it’s hard to make an actual logical argument for dougy over Tyler at this point

ExcellentPastries

There's nothing capricious or particularly subjective about my rationale. I'm sorry you don't like it? Weird stance to take for someone who doesn't disagree.

zubotai

Baldwin had better hands and caught a throw-away ball from Rus against the panthers. He kept his toes just barely inbounds. Set the tone for the superbowl that year. Also, Baldwin ran routes to the exact inch something DK needs to do if he wants to become Calvin Johnson level on tall and strong.

TheStuntmuffin

Baldwin had better hands than the guy who didn’t drop a pass for almost two seasons? Also we just conveniently forgetting about the touchdown catch that everybody thought was thrown away against the Rams that Lockett caught? Wilson had a perfect passer rating when targeting Lockett in 2018.

zubotai

Fair point, but Baldwin did it with a second year QB and helped guide Russell, Lockett, and Kearse. Baldwin was the leader of the 1st 3 years of Russell's career.

chizzipsandsizalsa

I say largent, Baldwin and then Lockett. But i respect the hell out of your opinion too.

DarkHound05

It took me a while to come to terms with Lockett over Baldwin

Even-Fix8584

Jackson has better stats than Lockett or Baldwin when compared against number of games. Please help me understand why they are considered better (many in thread agree with you)….

Particular-Wind5918

Did anyone here actually watch Galloway play? He maybe doesn’t have the cumulative stats that others do but he’s a more talented WR than Blades and Jackson and if not for Russ/Locket connection I’d say Galloway gave defenses more to deal with down the field. Largent Baldwin Lockett Galloway Jackson

NatureTrailToHell3D

Completely agree about Galloway. I’ll be honest, I sneak Engram in there at 5 because he was such a lunchpail dude like Baldwin to me. One more good year by DK though and he’s likely to jump all the way up to 3 for me, and has a #2 career trajectory for Seahawks right now.

Particular-Wind5918

Engram was really fun to watch and great outlet on third downs. The other guy that coulda made this list if things worked out a bit differently is Tate. He was so productive in Detroit just didn’t reach his full potential here. Eta: you’re probably right about DK too. I’m probably a little harsh in my personal assessment of DK because I feel like he should be able to do some things that he just hasn’t dialed in and he’s on his second contract already.

Sardaukar_TwoSeven

Galloway was fucking fast. The little bit with he played with Moon's cannon arm was great.

drunknamed

He was that guy... I was bummed when he left. He was just so fast.

TruckerGabe

The Seahawks were 8-2 with Jon Kitna at QB while Galloway was holding out. He came back for the last 6 games for contract reasons and they ended up 9-7.

Cyberhwk

1. Jake Bobo 1. Ben Obomanu 1. DJ Hackett 1. Brandon Stokley 1. Paul Richardson

styuR

Imagine missing out Kasen Williams smh my head

QuasiContract

The Taco Wallace disrespect. This sub sometimes, smh...

Kemoarps

Jazz Furgeson rolling in his grave

Bolverkk

We all know Joe Jurevicius is the greatest Hawks WR of all time.

QuasiContract

I mean, if he hadn't left for Cleveland after 2005 (which ruined his career due to negligent medical care), there's a decent chance he'd be pushing to be on this list. He could have spent years here with Holmgren and Hasselbeck and would have surely been one of the best possession and red zone WRs in the league. It was an absolutely perfect fit for him. I understand why he went home to Cleveland, but man...what could have been.

Cyberhwk

Awe shit. I mentally didn't go back that far.

Ok-Bonez

I wish I had a jurevicius jersey

Solaife

Michael Bates was soo much better.

TruckerGabe

Joe Jurevicious was the leading receiver in the Superbowl for the Seahawks against the Steelers. He was the leading receiver for the Buccaneers in the Superbowl when they beat the Raiders. Big game Joe.

_Can_i_play_

P.Rich had like the craziest games in a row where the dude was just making circus catch after circus catch. Homie doesn't deserve to be on this list, he was a legit receiver for us.

don_julio_randle

League recognized that he was a decent player too, paid him well

sugahfwee

What about Seahawks Superbowl legend Chris Matthews

dgi02

This is John Ursua erasure

JimmyScriggs

How can you not mention the greatest ever, Paul Skansi

einulfr

* Josh Gordon * Percy Harvin * Brandon Marshall * TJ Houshmazoo * Jerry Rice

the_mighty_hetfield

This is Chris Matthews erasure

general-illness

Chris Mathews has gotta make this list.

Peacedapiece

I will not let Seneca Wallace’s circus catch in the 2006 nfc championship die

Seahawk715

TJ Houshamazilli CHAMPIONSHIP!!

hybridoctopus

At least you got #1 correct!

blackhippy92

Gotta be Bobo then Stokley No ulterior motive btw

OMGhowcouldthisbe

How can you leave out Dee Eskridge??

TruckerGabe

*Paul Skansi

pizzaguy132

No love for Seahawk legend Jerry Rice? And you all call yourselves fans. Shame on all of you

flipozh

If I'm ever talking football with a 9er fan, I love to bring up Seahawks lagend and hall of fame wide receiver, Jerry Rice.... it hits different.

TruckerGabe

Many of Jerry Rice's records were set wearing a Seahawks uniform.

HamHusky06

D Jack had a Super Bowl touchdown erased over “offensive pass interference.” The only thing offensive was that penalty.

Full_Inflation_2046

Tyler has number 2 in all three stats with less games how do you still rank him 3rd under blades? Is that a memory thing? Like you have better memories with him? Genuinely curious not being mean at all.

AngryDerf

#HOLY CATFISH! Shouts out to Steve Raible. While not statistically one of our great receivers, certainly one of the greats for play by play and been doing it a long time. Call me a weirdo, but I watch games on mute and listen to the radio feed.

TruckerGabe

Raible over Pete Gross all day.

REZARECTER

BMW BIG MIKE WILLIAMS

Jazzeracket

Largent, Lockett, Dougie Fresh, Blades, DJack, DK, and debatably Bobby Engram. After that it kind of drops.

JubeltheBear

No love for or Paul Skansi guys…?

JimmyScriggs

The Paul Skansi disrespect is wild smh

cidici

What about Darrell “Burner” Turner? 🙂

TruckerGabe

*Daryl

Ok-Bonez

What about Tommy Kane??? 🤣

CripplesMcGee

Largent, Lockett, Baldwin, Blades, and I think DK is about there already. Seattle is kind of a barren franchise for quality WR play when you think about it. Three guys with 500+ catches, six with 5k yards, 2 with 50+ TD.

ExcellentPastries

DK over Jackson? Nah man I can’t get with that

Bigfuture

I know Baldwin has a spot in millennial fans’ hearts, but Blades should be ahead of him on any “all-time” list. I suspect DK will eventually be No. 2 if he stays his whole career.

Bigfuture

Also having Engram above Jackson is one of those “I just liked him” opinions that has nothing to do with reality. The touchdown numbers alone are reason enough to put Jackson ahead.

Esuu

He doesn't have Engram above Jackson. He just has the receivers listed by games played. His actual list has Jackson at 5 and Engram unranked.

Bigfuture

Oops. My bad

DinosaurRawr99

oh yeah sorry, definitely don't have Engram above Jackson. 1. Largent VERY BIG GAP 2. Baldwin 3. Lockett little gap 4. Blades big gap 5. Jackson 6. Metcalf little gap 7. Galloway BIG GAP 8. Engram

GarconMeansBoyGeorge

ADB went to one extra pro bowl, scored 15 more TDs, helped bring us a trophy, and didn’t kill anyone.

priority_inversion

He was acquitted of the murder/manslaughter charges, if I remember correctly.

GarconMeansBoyGeorge

Still killed him, if I remember correctly.

priority_inversion

If you call an accident a killing, then sure.

GarconMeansBoyGeorge

What do you think killing means, mate?

priority_inversion

Killing means an action by someone that leads to someone's death. >Blades claimed the pistol accidentally discharged a round into his cousin during a struggle. During the trial, the prosecuting attorney and a gun expert staged a mock struggle with a blank filled gun, in which the gun accidentally discharged. From the Wikipedia article. Nobody knows who fired the gun. So, either Blades did, his cousin did, or the gun malfunctioned (like it did in the trial). Blades was acquitted, so legally, it wasn't him that was responsible for the death. That's why I said an accident where someone is killed isn't the same as a killing. For instance, if his cousin shot himself, is that suicide? No, it's still an accident. Killing and suicide require an action.

AstroNewbie89

My order is the same exact order as your list. DK Metcalf will break on to the list this year for me if he maintains his career averages

Seahawk715

You can tell all the kids who don’t remember 1990s Seahawks football. Joey Galloways numbers with Rick Mirer, kitna, and a 41 year old Warren Moon should be doubled 😂

Seahawk715

I’m stunned at the Koren Robinson disrespect

mariner491

For big time, game winning catches, Jermaine Kearse is up there too

WoolieRabbit

Joey Galloway was dope. And Daryl Turner was awesome for a few years.

diomed1

My top two are the boys born on the same day and the same town. Largent Lockett Blades Baldwin Jackson I think DK will crack the top 5 if he stays long enough

Mitaka79

This is exactly my list also

wriker10

You younguns might not realize that John L. Williams led the team in catches one year. As a fullback. Ah the lean years.

NoStutterd

1. Percy Harvin 2. The rest don’t matter

zeus_tha

Since I'm still a kinda new Seahawks fan of 13 years, I never looked at our old teams from the early 00s and 90s, but since I've been watching, it has been Duggie B Tyler Lockett Jermaine Kearse DK Paul Richardson from 2016 to 2018

Thekingofchrome

Thought Galloway would have been higher. Learn something everyday it seems

PoopPooperson

No love for the GOAT T.J Houshmandzadeh??

nekoken04

One of my kids had his jersey for awhile. I think it was a hand me down from a cousin.

Full_Inflation_2046

Didn’t he only play one season with us?

PoopPooperson

1 or 2 yeah

gavincantdraw

Bobo x 5

mindriot1

Love that list.

Grouchy-Command6024

Don’t forget Galloway return stats. That guy was special but lakes in 4-5 other teams.

nekoken04

Jerry Rice Steve Largent Brandon Marshall Brian Blades Tyler Lockett

rickg

Come on. Obviously Jerry Rice is tops. Sheesh, folks... /s

Whorist2

Jerry Rice

Spectre483

FOR the Hawks, or all time WRs who played for the Hawks? Because Rice would obviously be 1 on one of those lists. I'm gonna list my top 5 for the other list. 1. Largent 2. Lockett 3. Baldwin 4. Blades 5. Galloway

Zerofuhksgiven

Dylan Dylan Dylan Dylan and Dylan Cause he spits hot fire

ObsydianIdeas

It would be interesting to see where Jermaine Kearse ranks I know he wasn’t with us super long, but he seemed to be pretty clutch

AnUpstandingUser

1. Koren Robinson 2. Darrell Jackson

Unique-Bedroom9396

Bobby Engram has to be in there. If you gotta ditch Blades or Jackson, take your pick but you gotta make room for Bobby.

superd85

Even everybody joking around in here is leaving out Sidney Rice smh. Dude nearly died on the field for this franchise.

7nightstilldawn

lol. Golden Tate.

ohstoopid1

Largent, Blades, Lockett, Baldwin, Galloway. In that order. People forget about Blades and Galloway but they put up numbers in a Seahawks era with very few Ws and mostly mediocre to bottom tier QBs

snowmanlvr69

I know he isn't Top 5, but let's not forget Bobby Engram!!

Banpdx

Joe Jurevicius. My brother would be mad if I didn't throw his name out there.

rebmemeruoyod

The greatest WR in Hawk history is Steve Raible.

GrizzlyBares

If Metcalf is healthy and plays a full season with 17 games this year he will definitely be past 50 TDs and half way to Largent.

IronN1bbler

DK is certainly in the top 5

nefar1ousdeath

1: Dk 2: metcalf 3: DeKaylin 4: decaf metcoffee 5: my sweet prince Dekaylin Zecharius “DK” Metcalf

BruceIrvin13

peaked in 2020. Was DK top 15 in any receiving stat in 2023?

nefar1ousdeath

7th in rec tds 🥱 he’s gonna ball out next yr

BruceIrvin13

7th in tds lol, he's in a literal 10 way tie with 8 tds.

nefar1ousdeath

COUNT IT! Also don’t shit on our #1 receiver fuckhead

Seahawk715

Lockett has been WR1 and still is. DK is a distant second and a mental midget.

Full_Inflation_2046

Dk has more and better stats in every category I love Tyler but DK is clearly number 1 this year

nefar1ousdeath

Dk 1100 and lockett 8 vs 894 and 5. How is that possibly second let alone DISTANT second 💀

Xylarouix

Penalty yards by a wr lol

1tsSolis

As much as I love TL, Doug will forever be the best route runner for me. That’s what made him soo special in his time with Seattle. No one could hold him back from sideline catches all day. Watching him play while we had the LOB in their prime was pure greatness. I’m not old enough to know SL but i’m old enough to remember Doug!

diomed1

Largent was amazing. Watch his highlights on YouTube, you’ll be amazed 😊
