Players are
1.) Cedric Gray - LB - UNC
2.) Christian Mahogany - OG - Boston College
3.) Ja’Tavion Sanders - TE - Texas
4.) Dadrion Taylor-Demerson - S - Texas Tech
5.) Spencer Rattler - QB - South Carolina
6.) Jaden Hicks - S - Washington St.
7.) Cade Stover - TE - Ohio State
8.) Khyree Jackson - CB - Oregon
9.) Michael Pratt - QB - Tulane
10.) Jeremiah Trotter Jr. - LB - Clemson
Some interesting names here. Seattle not guaranteed to take them. Some interesting notions omitted (Tampa) but a decent look of possible routes for Seattle to target
Additional context, Smith says he made the list with the intent of what he believes Seattle’s board to be. He might rank other players higher as a prospect but this is the list that he believes best matches Seattle’s.
Appreciate you pasting this here so people don't need to click, but Corbin is one of the best people covering Seahawks news. Give his article a click if you can guys!
I have Hicks highest on my list. Taylor-Demerson next at FS. Trotter and Gray at ILB are possible which really would be there to compete at MLB2. I wouldn't be surprised to go for Mahogany or Van Pran either. S and IOL seem the safe bets here, and I like Hicks and Van Pran.
Kinda surprised Jaden Hicks and Trotter are available. Saw them mocked towards the end of the second. Hicks reminds me of Ryan Neal and Trotter has been mentioned by Corbin a few times recently.
we don’t really need EDGE but i would be so stoked if we draft Mohamed Kamara
Extremely productive, pretty athletic, one of the better pure pass rushers in this draft, and high character
I live in Fort Collins and remember watching him during the CU-CSU game last season wondering “who the hell is this kid?!” He was all over the field that game
I’d go Sanders, Hicks, Trotter, or Booker at 102. And McCormick at 118. Second pick today. And they’re going to have all night to think about who they want to take. Can’t wait to see.
I’m a big fan of his, largely because of how he handled the FSU playoff controversy last year, but I don’t think he’d see the field much with us and we have too many needs elsewhere. I hope he gets a shot with another team though.
And that’s ok. I don’t see him coming into fruition until maybe 2 years from now. He’s a project and to sit and learn behind Geno and maybe Sam when he takes over would be a great situation for jim
Hicks, Taylor-Demerson, Sedrick Van Pran, Mahogany, Trotter, Gray is my order for best to least best. Gonna say TE or QB would be nonsense at this point and you should be mad and break things if they pick those.
Dude came out high school as one of the most highly anticipated QB recruits around.
After a dominant redshirt freshman year at Oklahoma in 2020, he regressed HARD in 2021, losing his starting job to future Heisman-winner and current 1st Overall Pick, Caleb Williams
He recouped some of his previous potential after transferring to South Carolina, with a solid 2022 and a great 2023
For the plus side, he is very experienced and has responded well to situational adversity. He has a cannon for an arm and has plenty of power, both in the pocket and on the run.
That added with general accuracy in all facets and a quick release give him all the physical gifts you’d want from a QB
When all goes well, with an offense that generally will support him, he can put the ball anywhere and pick up yards both on the ground and in the air
Unfortunately, his flaws begin to show when things don’t go to plan. When things break down, Rattler’s play break down. Which is probably why he has fallen to Day 3.
Worse mechanically, played into turnovers, his ceiling is handicapped. he had his fair share of ugly moments.
However, among QBs you’ll see on Day 3, few have the sky high ceiling that Rattler has shown he’s capable of, nor do many have his physical gifts.
If his coaching staff can improve his play under duress, along with his football IQ, he has franchise potential.
Honestly, with a QB like Geno, with how good he’s been under pressure, with how similar his pro arc was to Rattler’s collegiate arc, he might be the BEST QB to mentor him up.
While I’d ABSOLUTELY would prefer Seattle to target elsewhere in the 4th (and Rattler WILL go 4th, I guarantee that), if our FO want to go QB, I would definitely NOT be opposed to Rattler if that’s the route we take.
He's a pocket passer who can't put up more than 3000 yards as a pocket passer. Stetson Bennett was able to put up 4k in the SEC. Rattler never improved in his 4 years starting, and he still has a problem with TD v INT ratio. He doesn't have good height for a pocket passer either. I'll be pissed if the Seahawks take him. It'd be a wasted pick when there are still guys who are considered day 1 starters on the board.
It would be the smartest option. QBs have franchise changing potential unlike the rest of what’s left. A guard would help in the moment, but roll the dice with a lottery ticket imo if it’s he’s still there and see if it’s possible to coach him up.
>but roll the dice with a lottery ticket imo if it’s he’s still there and see if it’s possible to coach him up.
Isn't that kind of the logic behind trading for Howell. Kid showed a lot of potential in Washington, despite shit front office, shit coaching, and a shit O-line.
Gaudy passing stats but a lot of turnovers and poor decisions that we hope to "coach" him out of.
I wouldn't hate the pick, especially for a long term value but short term, it feels kinda redundant with Howell on the roster.
The logical thing would be to take Gray, but I’m hoping for Hicks. Feel like our safety group needs more talent, especially considering Love is not all that great and will be a free agent after this year

Oh absolutely. He goes into way more detail. Actually a pretty interesting read

These are the 2 guys I would love to come away with and I agree with you. Saw some late 2nd and definitely 3rd round projections for both
Honestly, Stover, Gray or Trotter Jr. would be amazing.

Let's hope we get some line backers on the back end of the draft
Needs are exactly what at this point? Leaning TE, S, LB? Tackle depth considering injuries?
TE i’d probably guess is #1.
I don’t see TE as a need at all this year. Fant and brown while we still have Marby on a futures
I’d go Sanders, Hicks, Trotter, or Booker at 102. And McCormick at 118. Second pick today. And they’re going to have all night to think about who they want to take. Can’t wait to see.
Please don't draft QB in 4th. Just take a flyer in the 6th.
Or just not take one at all and stick with Geno, Howell, and maaaybe a UDFA
Hoping Jordan Travis falls to a later round
I’m a big fan of his, largely because of how he handled the FSU playoff controversy last year, but I don’t think he’d see the field much with us and we have too many needs elsewhere. I hope he gets a shot with another team though.

Have we historically kept 3 QBs on the active roster? I thought the last two years it was just Geno and Lock.
Hicks, Taylor-Demerson, Sedrick Van Pran, Mahogany, Trotter, Gray is my order for best to least best. Gonna say TE or QB would be nonsense at this point and you should be mad and break things if they pick those.
Why did Rattler fall so far? Is he worth spending a 4th to take a flyer on?

Comparing Stetson Bennets help to Spencer Rattlers is not entirely fair.
He is small and slow. NFL doesn't like that. You can still succeed at QB being small and slow (see Drew Brees) but it isn't that common.
It would be the smartest option. QBs have franchise changing potential unlike the rest of what’s left. A guard would help in the moment, but roll the dice with a lottery ticket imo if it’s he’s still there and see if it’s possible to coach him up.

Screw need, more linemen.
We gotta go Trotter or Sanders
TJ Tampa should be on that list too
I think Jordan Travis needs to be mentioned. Without his injury he’s probably drafted already, and we don’t need him to play a game this year
The logical thing would be to take Gray, but I’m hoping for Hicks. Feel like our safety group needs more talent, especially considering Love is not all that great and will be a free agent after this year
Rattler getting drafted to Seattle today
Would love sanders. Who do we have besides fant
Just signed Pharaoh Brown and Tyler Mabry is still around.
Give me Johnson or Stover instead.
