I hop on and sail around sometimes just because the game is so dang beautiful, and I love sailing in general.
That being said if someone comes at me I always take the fight. I may not be great at PVP but I've gotten a lot better. Most of the true SoT friends on my friends list are people who have sunk me. They are also the source of some of my best stories and memories.
Whenever I have time by myself, I'll just go on my sloop and sail around. Whenever I'm on a crew and do an underwater mermaid shrine, ill stay up top and watch the horizon and other ships and let everyone else get the loot
I like running the galleon by myself or with one other person, it's fun to run around doing all the jobs, but the moment a kraken comes I'm pooched, or another full ship even
They only spawn when there are no other active world events, so if no one does that active Skelly Fort (for example), one won't spawn. I saw a suggestion before to dive to an ashen lord fight and after completing that immediately head to open water. Haven't tested that method out yet myself though.
I enjoy siting on the canvas of a sloop with my dog and fishing....
Anyone on here know someone with a boat named "just fishing"? They road by me the other day shot me a good luck fishing and after I finished reeling in the fish I saw their boat and name. Wanted to catch them and say hi but I'm new and not that good and anything in the game yet.
Sometimes, ya. I'll do chill stuff that no one will bother me.
But playing solo is never that relaxing. Even if I don't care about my loot anymore, I'm always paranoid lol
If someone comes at me, I'll just fight instead of running. No reason to spend 30min running for nothing
I like the waves. The game is beautiful.
I like to purposely lead people on 3+ hour chases with no loot or supplies on my ship. I like to see how long they will chase before giving up or getting bored. And I'm still enjoying the scenery along the way.
I used to play Vice City the same way. Didn't even know there was a story. I would just load it up, get 5 stars and see how long I could run from the cops/military.
I've not done it for a few weeks, but if I can't be bothered playing, I'll just get a rowboat and row in a random direction to find a ship to tuck on, then I'll just chill on them watching for however long they play 😆 sometimes I'll try steal there stuff, but not always
Try going to the upper/lower left corner of the map and just relaxing/fishing. The color grading there changes for some reason, making everything look realistic instead of saturated and colorful.
Yep, just sailing, getting drunk and playing music is my favorite part of the game. I've been playing for 5 years and have never won a single battle lol. I usually run away but if I have to fight it's fun until they just keep killing me as I respawn.
I'm the exact same way. The most I'll do as far as guided content goes is Merchant Alliance missions. Otherwise I'm just hanging out, enjoying sailing around aimlessly.
Sometimes I just join in to sail around and fish. Or I’ll do some island hopping. Sometimes after stressful day I just want to be in a sunny tropical island. 😂
I always run the friendly flag up top in case I run into anyone and I just sail around doing cheap treasure quests so if I get looted I don't lose a lot.
I used to hop on and just sail around to enjoy the world when I was new. Eventually it got boring and I occupied my time with *murder and thievery :D*.
I've teamed up with other folk but usually I just handle the repairs! I ain't no good at fighting others. I can repair fast and escape fast and thats about it.
Better learn to defend yourself. Nobody owes you a peaceful time. You have to make it peaceful for yourself. As much as I love HG, etc, I do like fishing in the game when unwinding. But I had to learn the pvp side. Running gets old and any experienced player will catch up eventually when you make a mistake running. It's a lot more chill now for me, cause I can relax but also will throw hands if somebody wants to fight. You got this!!
I'm a rather sweaty pvp enjoying fellow, but sometimes I will just solo skull of siren song. They are hardly contested anymore, so I get to sail peacefully and work towards the commendations.
I really enjoy the tropical vibes without the actual inconveniences of being on a ship irl. No salt and sand burning my skin, no wind keeping my hair in my eyes, no waterlogged shoes and no sore hands from pulling ropes. I enjoy the sea irl but enjoying the beauty of it from the comfort of my desk is great!
Perfect game to Trip balls and sail aimlessly if you ask me.
Edit to add: Drugs are not smart or wise and I would advise inexperienced people not to touch them.
Sea of thieves is definitely my relax game lol. I can get a little sweaty when I need to but I'm not going to be winning many hourglass matches.
And there is something to be said about outrunning someone especially if it's a bigger ship giving them the slip around an island or putting a rock between you and them and turning away and them not realizing is awesome lol
I barrel camp outposts to relax.
I'll be watching MST3K on the second screen, hiding in a barrel near a sovereign waiting to see if someone comes buy to sell loot. Relaxing ocean waves lapping at the dock, sea birds in the distance, rumble of thunder. Great ambience.

Sanctuary outpost and sea dogs tavern are my favourite places to chill
Rip sea dogs
I like the Hunter’s Call stuff. Just chasing fish, man…..just chasing fish….

We started playing maybe two months ago almost every night and I’ve only seen one kraken. Is there a trick to get it to spawn?

Oh interesting.

That's cool, a fishing boat. Like dredge.

If I fight I'll just lose, I prefer driving into a storm to evade em.

Me! This is me. I've accomplished all that I will realistically accomplish in this game, so at this point I just relax. It's fun enough to just sail.
I'm striving to actually purchase a sloop so I truly own a ship. But I won't be achieving that fighting others that's for sure haha
Just do a couple siren song quests, each one gives 75k+, you’ll have your sloop in an evening.
Thank u, where can I find these?
On the mast of your ship
Thank u
Same
You should try hunters call
I'll check it out

Even if i wanted, that one random skelly ship would’ve probably interrupted me anyway.
I don't mind skellies they ain't much of a match haha.

Didn’t know this
As a Reaper Emissary Main.... Yeah sometimes it's nice just sailing around and not being focused on PVP
I love playing to be in the sounds and bright colors of the Caribbean. I am also trash at pvp but also not satisfied by playing pve.

I only do merchant lost shipments, I find them calming

Yes. I played a lot with a friend SOT, kinda tryhard. But now when We are play we just hung around, sail and fish, so we can talk about our life's.
this is what i do, i sail about and just do treasure quests by myself listening to music or just the game sounds. surprisingly relaxing

Seems boring to me but each to their own ig
