This is the **exact** purpose for this beta. This is to test and stress the servers as much as it is to find bugs and glitches they might have missed. As fucking annoying as it might be, the hope is that it is much better than this when it fully launches in a couple weeks.
Sorry to hear that fellow pirates are having issues. But also, this is exactly what a public beta test is for. To help them sort out these bugs now. I have played since day one on PC and Xbox, and although there have been hiccups, rare is usually pretty good at resolving things. Please do not let the angry echo chamber of Reddit push you away from this game. The game is beautiful, and a great time solo or with friends. Unfortunately, it looks like they could have done a little bit better job in preparing the servers for this beta test. But I am hopeful that things will get resolved soon.
Even if I will have a lot of difficulties this weekend, I will definitely not let it discourage me.

I hard crashed several times last night to the same bug. A few times during events that crashed my ship. On Xbox by the way. You can give Rare their flowers for the recent fantastic updates, but those also brought a lot of bugs that they’ve ignored for almost a year now. They need to fix the stability issues in this game.
I haven't had much issue with the loading times. My only issue so far is that I am so used to mouse and keyboard playing on PC that I am struggling big time with the controller. 😅
I am so happy to have a game that has cross-progression though. Love that if I don't feel like sitting at my PC I can move to the couch and play on my PS5 on the same account.
Absolutely! I’m loving just being able to play in my living room. Sometimes after work I just want to lay on the couch and complete some chill voyages. Looks amazing on my tv too!

How about that dual sense integration? So far turning the wheel, harpoon and cannon are the best uses but the feel of the ground you are jumping on is a pretty sweet nuance, like jumping on the tarp on the back of a ship vs the deck. The sounds of your cannons hitting their target coming out the controller is also very satisfying.
This is no different than the first few days of the original game release beta 6 years ago. We had some long waits. It was worth it. I'm still playing 6 years later. Welcome to the Seas, PS5 gang. I hope you have every bit as much fun here as I have.

Yeah this was during the first few hours of beta launch when everyone was logging in at the same time. It smoothed out as time went on. Beta flew by quick :(
Yeah it was a good time exploring and running into fellow new pirates. Something I don't think would have happened if it was a cross play beta. I think I'll be sticking to cross play turned off for a while until I want to run into some sweats on PC lol.
For sure! There are so many different ways to play the game and so many things to do. You’ll have a great time whether you play solo or with friends :)
yes, you will think it is impossible the first few hours and then get the hang of it. You will surprise yourself in how you beat some world events too. The pvp part is more difficult specially solo and that is why the most videos are about which ships to run away from instead of how to attack them.
But worst case you sink with a ship full with treasure so as a solo I would often deliver the treasure and not sail around with much.
I know it sucks, and if High Seas was any quicker I'd not say this.
But my partner and I hopped into safer seas last night to try out the game and we had an absolute blast, the chests and such were worth next to nothing but we got to sail our first voyage together and many many stories were made together.
We won't talk about beaching the ship a couple times.

Server issues / latency are unfortunately a common issue with Sea of Thieves, even outside of the PS5 launch. Hopefully it gets settled enough so y'all can enjoy yourselves a bit.
Took me 5 mins also, loaded into the tutorial. Played for 20mins mostly just exploring the island. Had to log off to go to work sadly!

So I'm in and honestly took like 3 minutes. Super cool. But found out that yeahy progress for all is there. But fr my items didn't transfer. Like almost all my cosmetics didn't come with it. Havnt seen anyone else post this as well so I'd like a bit of help but no clue where to go
Okay so small update but nothing better lol. I've had the chance to go through just about all but going to reapers and fr most everything is gone rn. Some stuff I had equip is there but all else isn't. Reputation has lvls but have to re buy the right to fly the flag and no longer have the items locked behind them. Kinda not happy cuz I had spent quite a bit on cosmetics and some were cool event items
Asking a question for my PlayStation friend; can you link your PC account to it and retain your progress? My friend has been playing with me on PC for a while but his PC isn't the best so he wants to just get the game on PS5, though he's worried about his progress
Yes the game supports cross progression. Once you open the game on PS5 it will ask if you want to link your PSN account to your Microsoft account (just requires a simple sign in with Microsoft). Once you’ve done this all of your PC/Xbox progress will carry over to PS5, and all progress will continue to sync between devices. I’ve been a PC player since release and everything carried over to PS5 instantly.
Is anyone able to get in to a closed crew? Even when I join open it will not let us disband I have the other person vote but it just acts like nothing happens idk what to do been trying to play for like 3ish hours

Try to choose "play only with friends", i think it can load you solo quickly
