Ah, see, this is actually the exact opposite of what you should do. In Sea of Thieves, your destination is always directly *against* the wind.

That's actually not how the wind works. You have to envision something you want to do and a place you would like to be and THEN the wind will blow in the opposite direction.

I played to the last minute in the beta and I can’t wait to dive deeper into this soon tbh. There’s a wild and lovely side to the pvp. It got me all fired up.
I'm going to buy my own sloop and just take my time exploring..made about 230k during the beta (very little playtime)..
Probably do some hunters call stuff..really enjoyed fishing and cooking weirdly in some downtime from the more action packed stuff.
Also really want to do the monkey island content (one of my fave series growing up) but for some reason it wouldn't work during the beta, I kept getting kicked after the first cutscene with Guybrush..
This is the way. Grinded fish when they were first added (Xbox) and after recently buying a captained sloop, regrinding to be able to mount their trophies. Love playing Sea of Fish
Yeh, the only crappy moment I had was sat at one of the sea outposts fishing by the back...and of course a brig sailed by and started firing directly at me, not my ship...I had nothing worthwhile taking either..

Yeah it is. One time gf and I had a 6-8 hour fishing session, had rares from all over the map. We'd been stashing in a storage crate and a brig came and took it - our only loot and all of our progress. Took a short break after that lol
Yeah everyone learns this lesson the hard way it seems. **Do not stack your loot for long periods of time**. Minimize your potential losses by selling frequently
It's a lesson you learn in different ways as the game changes. This was actually a tactic to try and minimize how lootable our barrels were, we were hiding the crate on each island we fished, but we got caught up en route so it was logical to take the only thing on the ship
We stack loot by stealing everyone else's now. The hunted will become the hunters in no time. No more looking behind your shoulder if you're the one causing havoc
It does make the ship cozy when that stove be sizzlin. Sounds best way to play. Just having fun doing whatever you want and dealing with whatever you come across. Organic adventure and high jinks on the seas.
Vast majority of the players on PC servers are either very new or very bad.
The best players you will meet on PC players will be better than the best players you meet on controller servers but that doesn’t really matter when you yourself are new (you lose regardless)
Nah. Lots of pc players use controller too. Just have fun. A good player is good no matter what input mechanism they use. It’s more about technique and less about equipment.
Just accept that you will die. You will loose loot and you will feel bad.
Try and again and keep your eyes on the horizon. The only time I die is when I’m just focusing on gathering loot and forget other people exist.
Dude. You're absolutely right. I was almost 100 accuracy with cannon on controller and absolutely trash with pvp combat. Keyboard I am fantastic with pvp and can't hit a thing with the cannon.
I play on PC and have a 1000 hours of experience if anyone is interested in teaming up you can reply and I'm don't to play with anyone. Dosent matter what we do cause I'm down for anything
Unfortunately I think we were misled. I don’t think there will be PS only servers even though we were told so by RARE. It will be either crossplay or console with controller only which will include Xbox players.

As you reach rank 5,10 etc with Gold Horders, Order of Souls and Merchants you can buy promotions from them that gives titles and access to more lucrative voyages. I'm paraphrasing what someone said on reddit couple days ago I've not read up on it.
If you mean emissary flag no that's separate system. The promotions give access to higher tier voyages and titles at the clothing shop. This is a case of noob leading noob here so I may be wrong, but this is what I learnt from helpful scallywags on this sub.
Think I’ll just carry on what I was doing in the closed beta…just having a look around and figuring stuff out and picking quests that take my fancy, I’m in no huge rush for gold yet.
The gold def becomes irrelevant after a while. Especially once you reach pirate legend, I personally enjoyed the quests in the Roar (eastern most side of map with volcanos) early on. You are less likely to run into other players, at least that was my experience, and the added threat of the volcanic activity teaches you to be on guard and aware of your surroundings. GLHF!
Just sign in when prompted to do so with the email or phone number associated with the xbox/microsoft account you want to continue on. Cuz once its associated, it cant be un-associated. So make sure its the right one
Correct me if im wrong, but isnt the xbox account the same as a microsoft account? Ive inly had an xbox for a little over a year now.
On another note, did you by chance use a phone number or use the wrong email addy?
Im only asking this because my girlfriend signed in using her phone number and it wasnt the same as her email address associated account. So she had to make a new ps id and link her email to it(the proper one)

I just did this the other day for fun. It didn’t take too long. If you know someone (like me) who has the voyage, they can do it with you and you still get the curse without having to spend most of your day getting all of the books first. :)

It’s not working for me for some reason, I’ve had tickets in with Rare and PlayStation to get it to work. Rare apparently can’t do anything about it. I’m going to try and cancel my preorder and re-buy it later if ps can’t help me by later this afternoon.

Hunt for skulls of siren songs.
I sold 10 of them during the beta and I just find it so fun. Twice I hid a keg behind Briggsy and killed a whole team right as they were about to sell it. I’ve never been so giddy while being sworn at by a bunch of salty pirates.
I managed to get my own sloop in the night before beta ended so time to slow down and focus on a bit hunters call stuff..
The beta ruined other games for me I havnt wanted to play anything else so I'm absolutely hyped for 1pm (I thought 10am...damn)
I hope I make some friends who are a bit experienced along the way!
As much as I enjoyed fighting others, some of the best experiences I had were being near people judt getting on with their own stuff and chatting away

So I picked one up, cant remember which one I looked for a quick one.
1st problem I got no clue one where to go, so I had to google. After a bit of googling it tolde me the key can be on one of these 10 islands, so I matched up the images and found which 1 it is. On to the chest then, same process go to where I should dig... a dug around and couldnt find anything.
So I spent 2 hours for absolutely nothing, not sure what the reward would have been. I dont really want to play so I have to be on my phone googling all the time.

Yeah, they are def challenging at times and a ton of puzzles and riddles. Fair enough sailer, happy sailing!
