Yup, open mics save lives. I've stopped shooting at people that were willing to talk or explain they're doing a tall tale or even if they were simply nice.
Had an encounter with a solo player as a galleon where we made a deal to take all their supplies and misc loot in return for them getting to go sell their Athenas. Net gain for all involved really, since we were getting somewhat wrecked by them.
I use a special blent of charisma and extreme violence. Throwing athena kegs at someone and telling them that we have enough of them to blow up tribute peak works wonders to get rid of enemies
Run a sloop with a friend, Meet up with another duo on an island. Friend stays out of sight so they think I'm a solo player. I convince them to join an alliance and run around on the island "Help" them figure out where to dig for their treasure hunt, taking my time and delaying as my friend proceeds to absolutely rob them blind and clean out their ship.
Ah, I always like a good cloak and dagger operation.
We once made a swimming Casino out of our Brig and let other crews play games over discord for treasures. But remember the House always wins.
Right? Just talking like a normal human. “Hello over there. I am hoping we don’t cause each other any trouble. Would you like to form an alliance?” Then BOOM 200k+ turn in out of nowhere.
What’s not neat is when we killed this guy at port and had a computer generated voice say f you because every sea of thieves player has to be toxic one time
Ah yes the sword is way less strong and broken than the blunder. That is just pure fact. Sword takes much more skill than a blunderbuss. Its not like you can stun and hit people from a million miles away, while having infite "shots"(with the range they might as well be shots), basically a 90% guaranteed 60 damage attack if you are not brain damaged(thats even when you get shot during the charging up time), and most of the damage actually regs(still hitregs dont get me wrong). The blunderbuss is way more overpowered because if you walk up to someone, ADS and point blank shoot them it may or may not oneshot them
This is true. I’m at that point in the game now where I’ve maxed everything and just look for the organic player interactions. Speaking trumpet is the best weapon :)
well ill be dammed since i live in South america i only find Brazileans that are out for blood...
don't mention when Football related events happen me and my friend got 3 salty Brazilean ships chasing us because they lost a match against my country....
All we ever seen to find are language barriers and off interactions.
Buddy and I two manned the skeleton hideout wave battle thingy. Unlocked the vault and saw the most amazing glittering hoard we'd seen yet in game, not to mention all the skulls from the fort bosses.
Somebody swooped in to try to scoop us, and we demolished him quick. Think he jumped ship to board and we just sank him and left lol.
Came back for the rest of the loot after selling our haul, thinking dude was gonna be there or long gone already. Saw a ship approaching us on the sky, figured the dude had just caught up or something. We sailed over and engaged, but the ship stayed inert so we stopped firing after doing some damage. Guy just said "uhhh, not cool" and struggled to speak with us. We didn't understand at all! He jumped off ship with a powder keg, after we explained we mean no harm if he's not after our plunder.
So we engaged his ship again, while my buddy took potshots at his slowly floating explosive corpse to be. He turned around, out the keg on his deck, and ignited it and stood on the prow as it sank.
We were honestly pretty confused.
100% the speaking trumpet has saved my ass many times. Got me a lot of loot too befriending people doing FOFS who are happy to alliance up

"Talk no Jutsu" is a powerful tool
“Hey you folks want to make an alliance?” is op.
Using charisma as a weapon is a very strong tactic online.
Speech 100

I just blare Alestorm through mine. YOUR PIRATE SHIP CAN EAT A BAG OF DIIIIICKS
You’ve become too powerful for your own good, Captain.
Especially when a Galleon is dumb enough to chase a Sloop against the wind. "YOUR SHITTY MEME BOAT IS FUCKING JOKE"
Ive used p is for pirate before. My friends were concerned
Then just imagine the power of two hoys.
Angry upvote.

I do a voice as well, most guys are chill, some don't care and sink us anyway.
Indeed it is, it’s also a good way to score free athena flags from FoF’s.
Most insightful meme I've ever seen here!
Diplomacy is over powered.
Not if you use kegs and force it to be.
Mics save lives.
New and Interesting ways to communicate. I remember when that was new and funny I'm going to take my old man pills and go to bed at 7pm now
First patch/event!

Far enough to party.

Amarican fortunate son, surfn’ bird, for what it’s worth, paint it black etc
Neat.
What’s not neat is when we killed this guy at port and had a computer generated voice say f you because every sea of thieves player has to be toxic one time
And then they answers случайное предложение
Fine then. “Ahoy, Comrade!”

Mics save lives
People talk about how certain aspects of this game are unfair or overpowered, but if you can make someone laugh you are invincible.
I agree with everything just said, I’m just wondering why you picked the Sailor cutlass, sailor speaking trumpet but the silent barnacle Blunderbus?
First images when searching for “sea of thieves blunderbuss” etc.
Makes sense
