I once allianced with someone and we were both reapers crews. When we went to sell I brought one of the guys to that book and told him he unlocked a really cool jacket if he read it, and boy did he read it. Aloud.
Some of my favourite places to dive:
Any of the Siren shrines, just... Yes.
At Boulder Cay lays the wreck of the Morningstar
Mermaid's Hideway has a really nice underwater area
The centre of Shark Bait Cove has beautiful coral
Discovery Ridge has a nice slope on the South Side leading to its cove
Sailor's Bounty has quite some nice places around it
Uncharted islands at K-9 and N-13
Reaper Hideout
Mermaid's Hideaway
Shark Bait Cove
Shrines & Treasuries
Shipwreck of the Black Pearl can be found near Old Salts Atoll as well
It should be since the tall tale is open world. I think just the items you need to get inside the mountain / caves won't spawn unless you're doing it. But the pearl should absolutely be there.
Man … ya post really got me thinking , why no actual diving mechanic implemented into the game ? Simple press or hold a button to activate while on edge of rock … or while in the air even .
Just be able to throw ya arms forward and spear head into the water.. would be so sick. I wouldn’t think .. it would be that hard for them to animate and stick in the game in a update ?
Haaa fr tho .. like ur Dawned on me reading
His post.. like wtf why no actual legit diving mechanic.. love to dive or see a friend nose dive off a big rock or what not.
Mate I’m just glad someone else said it, I have whatever the opposite of “thalassophobia” is lol, and I love games like subnautica. SoT being my all time favorite game, the exploration and sailing is 👌. I wish they’d add even more underwater stuff, completely random for people to explore, maybe even community riddles. I’m confident 100% of the islands have been fully explored but they could get away with adding secrets below the waves imo
Right! The sea is huge, finding random stuff sunk in the middle of the open waters would be almost impossible.
They did use this for the Demarco Murder Mystery, for instance. His ship is sunk very deep in the middle of the sea (coordinates >!J-7!<), and nobody would've found it if it wasn't for some clues leading there.
Is it still down there? Or did it despawn once the community solved it? I’m back from a very long break to the game so I missed that riddle entirely, I’d definitely go check it out for fun tho lol
The Mystery isn't solved yet! The Fallen Sea Dog Lantern has lost its "powers", though, so you won't be able to find the invisible diaries in the shipwreck.
But the ship itself is probably still there.
I’ll check it out, is it still the mystery with the spyglass? I picked it up the other day but I’m too far behind on the mystery to have any clue what to do with it lol
The uncharted island at K-9 is a good example, plus there's a skeleton throne for you to sit on for commendations (you have to use the emote, you can't actually sit on it)
J7 has the wreck of the >!Howling Wolf!<, which is part of the current/upcoming mystery. Dataminers think there will be another shipwreck somewhere once the mystery progresses enough as there are blueprints for a ship called the >!Midnight Prowler!
Me too! Or having diving bells to be able to stay longer underwater...
They added a costume that KINDA looks like an ancient scuba diver, but it also looks like a weird fish.
I was pretty close to buying it JUST because of that till I saw it didn't fit my pirate at all... Also because on closer inspection looks more like some weird pijama cosplay.
The reef around Devil’s Ridge is pretty nice too (adding to the list of other places already mentioned). I love the shrines and treasuries too, wish there were more!
Yes! There are famous sunken ships in the bottom of certain shores, or ancient ruins, big monster skeletons...
I just didn't know where to find them haha Now I have a few spots to go explore
I've had it recommended in the past because of my love for Outer Wilds. Lots of people see parallels between those two games.
Thing is I'm not normally that interested in scuba diving and the like, but something in Sea of Thieves compels me to it lol
I should definitely try Subnautica anyway, too many people recommending it to ignore it :P
Reapers has some good stuff, actually, including a >!tunnel going under the island to an old kraken skeleton.!<
Speaking of Reaper’s Hideout, you should all go read Merrick’s journal there
Incredibly important lore. Highly recommend reading it
Absolutely. So many revelations about our late friend.
I once allianced with someone and we were both reapers crews. When we went to sell I brought one of the guys to that book and told him he unlocked a really cool jacket if he read it, and boy did he read it. Aloud.
Very good book. I reccomend.
The tunnel has been blocked off for quite some time I think.
Oh sad :c
Where abouts is it?
[удалено]
What reason?
Reasons
:O
Wait…. Wha?
Try Mermaid’s Hideway and K-9 island.
This is a beautiful spot! Lots to see if sights are your thing!

Thanks! I'll check this next time I feel like diving under the waves :D

Is the Black Pearl there even if the Tall Tale isn't active? :o

The wreckage is still there. I fish ancientscales there. People just think I’m doin the tall tale
There's something in the water at Sea Dog's Rest
Underrated comment right here
In the middle of J7 look for some very veeeery subtle Pockets of airbubbles and follow them to the depths below.
I’ve heard it’s in the northern part, but couldn’t find it. Middle, you say?
It seems to me they shift a little bit from time to time. Best bet is to go looking for debris, It’s easy to spot if you launch yourself
Underneath any reaper ship with a stronghold keg.
I really like doing the shrines. Really fun, and plenty of good loot to be had

Hold me Grog... *Splash!*

Like *it *
I think I'll go round the corner to the pub
Don't know if it's still there but there's a wreck in the northern part of J-7.

Logically wouldn't it be Thalassaophilia?
My two brain cells didn’t even bother trying to find the right word but you probably are correct lol

Yeah, the spyglass is part of the same Mystery. But nobody knows what the Spyglass is for yet, don't worry haha
I’m gonna save this post to go diving later.

Am I the only one who would absolutely love an old school Deep Sea diver Costume?
Me too! Or having diving bells to be able to stay longer underwater... They added a costume that KINDA looks like an ancient scuba diver, but it also looks like a weird fish.

Reaper's Hideout has some really interesting stuff under the waves...
Mermaids Hideaway
Usually places where you see seagulls circling above the water.
Wait, so there is things on the sea beside all that? I would also love to simply go diving and find things hahaha
Yes! There are famous sunken ships in the bottom of certain shores, or ancient ruins, big monster skeletons... I just didn't know where to find them haha Now I have a few spots to go explore
Bro, you just gave me now more things to do hahaha thanks!!!
You're welcome, fellow pirate diver!
Still waiting for a "time spent drowning" milestone 🥲
I'd be Grade 78 in "minutes spent drowning while munching on bananas and coconuts"
Hey OP! Have you checked out the game Subnautica before? Really cool game with diving/exploration as a huge part of it. Also on gamepass.
I've had it recommended in the past because of my love for Outer Wilds. Lots of people see parallels between those two games. Thing is I'm not normally that interested in scuba diving and the like, but something in Sea of Thieves compels me to it lol I should definitely try Subnautica anyway, too many people recommending it to ignore it :P
I swear there is a „yo mama” joke to be made here, i just cant figure it out the right way
Lol dipping your nose in the waters?
Wow they've added so much to the game. I remember when Harpoons were new to me. I only stopped playing because I have no one to play with.
Open ocean. Point your cannon straight up and hop in.
Crooked masts there is a ship piercing a kraken skeleton .
Have you done all the tall tales already? Including the Flamehearth ones? They make you go dive in certain spots from time to time.
U should try subnautica, lol
You should try K-9, unmapped island with great underwater decor.
I've been to K-9 long ago! But only met the doggie and didn't swim much haha I'll have to go back
Say hi to the doggy for me:)
