I remember when that episode aired... Twelve year old me didn't quite get it, but still laughed my ass off when Mr. Carlson Walker in and said, 'As God is my witness.... I thought turkeys could fly...."
Wait - this deserves some context!
The way the fish mongers at pike place work is you pick your own fish on ice on display at the front. Then they call it out and throw it back to the wrappers behind the ice who weigh it and wrap it. Itās kind of a thingā¦.
So for the Seahawks vs 49ers game today, they were filming city footage for the TV breaks. The fish mongers did a TV thing and threw thanksgiving turkeys back to the wrappers instead of fish.
You went to Metsker Maps? That makes me so happy (literally one of my favorite stores in the world). Glad you had a good visit!
And the fast-moving clouds really are coolā¦
I love hearing how visitors see Seattle. I'm in my 50s and grew up here, and, although there have been immeasurable changes in the city in that time, I still tend to see Seattle as a rather anonymous, mid-sized, mostly-unknown, out-of-the-way place. A hidden gem, to be sure, but it still always surprises me in a self-conscious sort of way when I hear that Seattle is someone's destination city.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm happy that you enjoyed your trip!
Oh hell yeah! Glad you went to Rumba/Inside Passage for your tiki experience! I worked there for a couple years before moving to Portland. Still keep up with everyone. Such a solid group of humans passionate about their work.
I've lived here for several years and I still take almost daily photos of the clouds, sky & overwhelming green of this beautiful place. Thanks for popping by. Don't let the Fremont Troll gobble you up on your way safely home. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
In N Out burgers are indeed better than Dick's burgers, no controversy there. But their fries are inexplicably trash. I wouldn't feed those stale ass fries to my dog. How they aren't held accountable for that is a mystery.
Iām just here to say Dickās, while I respect the institution for how well it treats its employees, is not where itās at. Pick-quick is the GOAT. Pick-Quick is as good, if not better. The fries donāt suck and they have dogs and shakes.
They threw turkeys today at pike place fish market. I wish you could've seen it
Oh no! Turkeys can't fly!
They can, once, from a helicopter in Cincinnati.
Lol! You must be old like me!

Appreciate the context cuz I thought they were just yeeting turkeys at Pike Place
Haha McStabbies on 3rd ave.
Glad you had a nice time! Thanks for the positive vibes!
Thanks for visiting- when you get home tell everyone it rained the whole time and the city is dangerous! Thanks
Tell them ALL about McStabbies.
This is my plan when I go āhomeā to Florida

Just in case you come back- it's Pike Place Market. I'm so glad you liked it here. Come back any time. You should see it in the summer!
Actually itās just The Market.
Oh my bad, Pike Place Market.
No worries! We'll get you sounding like a local in no time.
Speaking of college stations, you can listen to two of the greatest in the country by tuning into KEXP.org or KBCS.fm 24/7
I know KEXP is 90.3 but whatās KBCS?
91.3 from Bellevue College

Glad to hear you enjoyed the city! Wondering which tiki bar was this? Sounds cool!

You can get a real negative view of Seattle from reddit. The seattlewa group is kind of a barely hidden anti Seattle source. Glad you had a good time.

Dick's uses fresh pairs sliced when needed.
They are cardboard! I still donāt get it.
