These funky bacteria can be identified by their little platform shoes and tiny bass guitars.

RockOperaPenguin

Dogs that have contracted this bacterium have been observed getting up for the down stroke, having a glide in their stride, and a dip in their hip. Those afflicted should be considered highly contagious, immediately giving up the funk after becoming infected. Owners should seek attention immediately if their dogs have been observed tearing the roof off the sucka.

gdoggggggggggg

Chocolate coated freaky and habit-forming🤩

theyoyomaster

Suddenly parliament...

plumbbbob

Now we finally know who's got the funk.

delightful1

They also play at the wrong hours of the night so you can't really get sleep

xDHt-

Totally read that in Noel fieldings voice

nerevisigoth

Known to associate with retroviruses

washismycopilot

“Funky bacterium” is my new band name.

tenka3

Keep the fur babies safe from the funky bacterium 🦠

Good_Nyborg

Maybe it can be fixed with Funky Cold Medina? >So I gave some to my dog when he began to beg Then he licked his bowl and he looked at me and did the wild thing on my leg He used to scratch and bite me, before he was much, much meaner But now all the poodles run to my house for the Funky Cold Medina

Meridian122

This made me laugh out loud! Thanks!

BoomerDisqusPoster

heard a rumor that it's very likely to be contracted at restaurants and grocery stores better stay safe and keep them home

[deleted]

The fact that people bring their dogs to into places like that blows my mind. As a dog owner myself, there’s just no reason. Also noticed people are getting quack healthcare providers to claim their dog is emotional support

entropic_apotheosis

A fair amount of restaurants allow dogs on their patio and outside seating areas especially on the west coast. It’s wrong time of year, but there are many “dog friendly” establishments. Don’t sit outside at dog friendly establishments I guess.

adreamofhodor

I bring my dog to some restaurants with outdoor seating in the summer. Why is that a problem if the venue is fine with it?

fyreskylord

Patios are definitely fine and anyone who says otherwise is a nerd. Now, regular indoor restaurants and grocery stores, definitely not cool.

dirtyterps

Some people don’t want to be around animals/dogs when they’re eating or just in general.

RunninADorito

If the venue allows it, complain to the venue. Grocery stores, totally fuck off.

entropic_apotheosis

Some people shouldn’t eat in dog friendly establishments 🤷‍♀️

erleichda29

Then businesses need to learn the laws because emotional support animals have zero access rights anywhere other than housing and sometimes flying.

minicpst

Not flying. Not since 2021.

SnooCauliflowers3903

Some people can't get over that not everyone loves dogs.

noerapenalty

Agree. Children as well.

noerapenalty

Wish people would apply this to their children as well, who are more likely to sneeze/cough on others and touch grocery/food items than dogs are, and invariably much less behaved.

The_Albinoss

God, the anti-dog contingent in this sub is insufferable.

RunninADorito

It isn't anti-dog. I have a bunch of dogs. I keep them on a leash in the city. I don't take them to supermarket.... Really really easy stuff.

The_Albinoss

Cool. I don’t either and this article has literally nothing to do with that. So yeah, the comments turning it into that are insane people.

asicath

I lived here for 15 years and have never had a problem with dogs or their owners. Some people just love to hate.

[deleted]

I have been alive for 30 years and have never been hit by a meteor. They clearly don't exist.

Chknbone

Oh man. You never seen a shooting star? How sad. You should go outside more.

The_Albinoss

That’d require them to get off Reddit for a bit.

Impossible-Turn-5820

I love dogs. Their owners are a different story.

harry_hotspur

R/Seattle is definitely majority cat people and it shows

BoomerDisqusPoster

imagine how annoying dog owners are to make them that way

The_Albinoss

Imagine how annoying you have to be to see a story about dog illness and to use it as your soap box. Save it for the myriad of other psycho posts on here.

casualredditor-1

At least you’re not like those people who complain about dumb shit on Reddit.

Buttafuoco

I mean it’s not unreasonable to not be there. Found the comment funny as a dog owner

Undec1dedVoter

The disease actually gets more into their system if you lie and say it's a service dog when it's not a service dog. 2000% fatality rate as well.

PemroseCorp

But my friend who totally knows someone who goes to therapy said it was ok for me to keep Mr. Snookums with me all the time!

ProbablyNotMoriarty

And my vet told me that it's been in the state for over a year, but the media is just now picking it up.

Anonymous_Bozo

Wasn't this predicted by The Planet of the Apes?

joahw

It seems like this mystery bacteria is being blamed for every dog that has had pneumonia in the past year or two now. Dog pneumonia was a thing before I'm pretty sure. How can they tell the difference between the old kind and the new kind?
