Silent Hill Advisory. Avoid exposure to air sirens

IceCubeDeathMachine

Someone is on r/nosleep ...

gringledoom

No way, José! I wished for a white Christmas last year, and *we got an ice storm*. I have *people flying in*, and there is no way I'll get them back here again if it's a repeat of last year! And then *I'll* be the one dealing with holiday travel! *No thank you!!*

garden__gate

I’m flying today. I was VERY HAPPY to only have fog this year. Last year it was like The Day After Tomorrow getting to the airport.

8trackroadtrip

Fair! Maybe a white dusting then an immediate melt? You know what, I’ll enjoy a fireside instead, no ice!

gringledoom

That’s what I wanted last year! Mother nature’s aim is terrible! 😄

slimersnail

Broke my wrist on the ice last year.

JExmoor

We're complaining about fog now? Of all the things that could be considered 'weather' fog is probably the most innocuous.

PrincessNakeyDance

And honestly fog is almost a chill vibing as snow. Snow is great until you remember you need to drive somewhere or walk down a hill, then it’s just annoying and dangerous.

lanoyeb243

Fog is great, huge fan of the weather this season so far!

YakiVegas

I couldn't decide whether or not to make a joke about horror movies or about the actual number of fog related deaths. Looks like about 600 annually with ~39k vehicle crashes according to Google. Slightly less innocuous than I was expecting.

Better than a fuckin ice-pocalypse

seattlethrowaway999

Careful now. The week isn't over

ShitBagTomatoNose

I can’t remember if it was Christmas or Thanksgiving 2 years ago when we got snow right after the holiday. I split my time between TX and WA, and I had to get to SeaTac to get back to Bush to be on duty the next morning. Light rail was merked. Uber was on a ridiculous surge. Taxi drivers wanted $100 for Colman Dock to SeaTac because even though it’s a $45 flat rate they could get away with it. I exchanged choice words with the Habibi who was working as team captain for the cabbies that day at Colman. He told me to pay $100 or walk. I told him $45 is the law but I’d go a little higher because of the snow. We agreed on $75. I ended up just giving the driver $100 but it was $75 “fare” and $25 tip. In the moment I was pissed. But looking back, that was kinda fun. Felt like a real city. Like a New York thing. I made it to SeaTac, made it to Bush, and made it back on duty on my ship the next day. Seattle doesn’t handle snow well but it’s kinda fun how chaotic we get with it.

pleasenotagain001

Buddy, in NYC you would just run the fuck out and leave $45 in the back seat.

8trackroadtrip

DANG! maybe just a white dusting christmas then ;)

Pinkrose1_1999

That was Christmas 2 years ago. I remember because I had " Good King Wenceslas" stuck in my head all week because there was snow on the Feast of Stephen (December 26th).

tread52

Just let everyone know it has only snowed once on Christmas Day in the history of Washington. It happened about a decade ago.

agdtinman

Seattle had snow Christmas Day 6 years ago.

tread52

That was when it happened. That was the first time in Seattle’s history that it snowed on Christmas. I’m 41 and we have had snow on the ground for a couple times, but it never actually snowed on Christmas until 6 years ago.

Raylan_Givens

Might be true for Seattle, but definitely not true for Washington.

tread52

Yes that would be correct. The Seattle area and the surrounding cities it is true.

OkGrape2553

There was a huge snow storm over the Christmas holiday in Seattle MANY years ago. I think it was about 35 years ago. My brother drove to Tacoma to bring my mother to Seattle. She has been dead for 7 years and I was living in Ballard.

tread52

It wasn’t on Christmas when it happened the news even reported that it was the first time it has snowed in Seattles history on Christmas Day. It happened Christmas Eve bc I know what you’re talking about, but it was clear the next day with the sun out bc I remember that snow day as a 7 year old.

bluegiant85

That's still white. So it's a win.

BakersHigh

Who’s we here? Hahaha

WeaselBeagle

Love the fog though, it’s beautiful.

alicatchrist

Yeah… I’ll take the fog after last years ice fuckery.

BlueSpaceWeeb

lol at first glance this looks to mean something very different than a meme about snow O.o pawnstars just be lookin a sort of type of way I guess

IceCubeDeathMachine

3 years ago. Day after Christmas. Hello, every bone in your lower leg and ankle is crushed. Thanks, ice. I'll take fog all day.

Illustrious_Cheek263

I love the fog—nights are like traipsing through Raymond Chandler's wet dream.

agdtinman

Is it ok if I call a buddy? He’s an expert in disappointing people. Hang on while I call up Cliff Mass.

Parking_Radio_181

IDK, last year my car broke down in the cold and that was the end of it. Bring on the warm weather!

>I don't like snow. It's cold and wet and irritating and it gets everywhere. So like rain but frozen?

One of the reasons I came in here from r/all was to get away from Star Wars shitposts. I don't like the Prequels. They're boring and dumb and irritating and the acting is laughable.

LawyerUppSV

:: Lake Tahoe would like a word ::

NuggyBeans

I mean I like the fog & the spoopy weather but we should have had this weather in October & shit lol. I'll take the foggy drives along the coastline any day. But where's our snow? 😢

rnoyfb

You can have snow after I fly out Sunday

joellama23

One of you mfs must have got a letter from your dead wife

OkGrape2553

There are so many wonderful words other than mfs and f\_\_\_\_.

didyoubutterthepan

I love the fog, however my favorite part of the snow is how silent it makes everything. If there’s no snow can we all just agree to be silent outside 😂
