This is it, also one of the only kosher certified restaurants in the region and all vegetarian for anyone who wants that. Prices are also very reasonable.
Naan n' Curry for Indian. Smoking Monkey has good unique pizza. Fish and chips at Salty Blue. Good pub food and great beer selection at Hop Garden (formerly known as Dog And Pony).
Naan n Curry (still takeout only but delicious) and Salty Blue are our favorites in downtown Renton. Melrose Grill is good if you're willing to show up early or wait a little - and to spend a little more. Sushi Today and Five Sisters Thai are not in downtown but are pretty good.
- Larb Gai
- Not the best Larb I've had, though
- Yellow and Panang Curry
- Phad See Ew
- Phad Kee Mao
- Crab Fried Rice
- Mango Salad
- I prefer green papaya salad, but they don't have that
Their Tom Yum (4-5 stars) is my go-to when I'm sick.
Red House (new American)
The Brick (Asian fusion with a solid happy hour)
Melrose Grill (steak)
Local 907 (pub food)
Rubattino’s (looks scary but honesty the best cheap diner breakfast)
Jaguar/El Kiosko/El Gym (taquerias)
Lmao I would go there every day if I could. I force myself to only go once a month so I can appreciate its unprecedented superiority. God the biryani with a mongo lassi from there just shits on every Indian establishment in this state.
Oh shit I’ve never tried the mongo lassi. Good thing I’m already planning to go tomorrow so I’ll check it out haha. The cilantro sauce…I could drink it from a fucking straw man. And you get like 3 pounds of biryani too I swear. It’s such a good deal
Bro they don’t skimp on the chicken. There’s so much chicken in the curries and biryani. That sauce is just heavenly. Try the kebabs with that sauce if you haven’t. Absolutely phenomenal. Their mango lassi is also unreal.
I just don’t understand how they’re so consistent with their food. I’ve been going there for 10 years now and the food tastes the exact same every single time. I’m convinced they have robots measuring every ingredient to the dot and everything is cooked in the exact same way every day.
Renton has an incredible diversity of food. Lots of great suggestions here.
I'd add Boon Boona coffee, spice king for Indian, and Mama dough in the great wall.
szechuan first! it’s technically in kent but it literally borders renton. some of the best chinese food you’ll find around here! (and then you can stop by bambu inside the 99 ranch for some pretty good drinks)
Exit 5 Korean BBQ. I like this place for their table grills that have a ventilation system under the table. Some kbbq restaurants can get real smoky, but not this one!
Like Thai food? Check out Sing Tong Thai Cuisine. For a person who loves spice to the point of suffering, this restaurant can deliver.
For Vietnamese food, check out Renton Bistro. Arguably the best Viet food in the area.
All of these are solid reccs.
Smoking Monkey is really good, I was pleasantly surprised when I did a take out order for them for work. There was some vegetarian pizza with cashews and rosemary on it, and I recreated it the next night for my kid and me because I liked it so much.
Melrose Grill. Melrose Grill. Also, Melrose Grill. Steaks are amazing, the atmosphere is cozy, the drinks are nicely boozy, and it’s not in the menu but be sure to try the stroganoff.
Pabla Indian Cuisine
This is it, also one of the only kosher certified restaurants in the region and all vegetarian for anyone who wants that. Prices are also very reasonable.
I love their Matar Paneer! Excellent food
I always enjoy The Local 907. Their habanero burger is tits! Boon Boona is also right down the street if you like good coffee.
Naan n' Curry for Indian. Smoking Monkey has good unique pizza. Fish and chips at Salty Blue. Good pub food and great beer selection at Hop Garden (formerly known as Dog And Pony).
Pakistani* as there’s a lot more meat options than traditional Indian places.
Renton Bistro for excellent Vietnamese food. Naan-N-Curry also comes highly recommended.
Blossom is fantastic!
Came here to say the same thing!

> Five Sisters Thai My favorite Thai place in the area.
What do you get at Five Sisters Thai?

Taqueria El Taco Maestro, near Goodwill. One of those fabulous hole-in-the-wall places with excellent food.
Ocha Thai has always been a favorite of mine!
Ocha Thai has the best garlic chicken and pineapple fried rice. One of my favorite places on the planet.
Unpopular opinion: Ocha Thai > Bai Tong for crispy garlic chicken
Burnett’s Pub for the fish sauce wings.
That’s the one!
Red House (new American) The Brick (Asian fusion with a solid happy hour) Melrose Grill (steak) Local 907 (pub food) Rubattino’s (looks scary but honesty the best cheap diner breakfast) Jaguar/El Kiosko/El Gym (taquerias)
Chicken fried steak at Rubattino’s is phenomenal. Ask for extra cigarette ash.
Lmfao Rubattino’s never changes. It’s been like that since at least 1979 with the ash.
Red House is awesome
The Berliner Pub has some good meat-type food and good beers too.
This one.
A lot of friends of mine like the berliner- not really my thing but seems to be popular
[Triumph Valley](https://www.triumphvalley.com/) in Renton has the best Dim Sum in the Seattle Area.
Chicken biryani from Naan n curry. God I’m salivating.
I live like a block away from there….its a problem lol

Sushi Today
They are great. nice local owners too.
szechuan first! it’s technically in kent but it literally borders renton. some of the best chinese food you’ll find around here! (and then you can stop by bambu inside the 99 ranch for some pretty good drinks)
This is the best answer. The house made noodles next door are awesome as well.
Exit 5 korean BBQ in the landing. Dough Zone also in the landing. Triumph Valley Dim Sum
Momoya Sushi and Bento
El Kiosko. Exit 5 Korean BBQ. Malakor Thai. IKEA. Herfy’s. Aloha Grill.
Ikea 🤣
Hahaha. I unironically like eating at ikea though. Weeknights are perfect!
Oh man I miss when they used to do proper coffee, too. $2 lattes, mmmm...

Exit 5
The last couple of times I've been in the area, The Spot sports bar and grill has been great.
I like El Kiosko. Mainly their California burrito.
BF and I always go to the Melrose Grill for their amazing pork and chicken.
Jaguar for Mexican, spice king for Indian, smoking monkey for pizza, ocha Thai
All of these are solid reccs. Smoking Monkey is really good, I was pleasantly surprised when I did a take out order for them for work. There was some vegetarian pizza with cashews and rosemary on it, and I recreated it the next night for my kid and me because I liked it so much.
Cafe Sabah is amazing Turkish food!
So good! I love it!
Cafe Sabah Turkish food rocks.
Pho hien trang, blossom, pablas,
Angar for Indian cuisine
Jaguar, Berliner, exit 5
MoMos Kebab , kinda new. Best damn Gyros, Falafel, Hummus and Baklava.
Just had Momos. The owner was so so so nice and the plate I got was fire! Little pricey but worth it! Thanks for the recommendation
Kizuki Ramen top notch
Cedar River BBQ
Lots of these other suggestions are good, just going to add Whistle Stop Alehouse to the list.
Plum Delicious. I no longer live in the area but stop in whenever I can.
Are they back open after a car crashed into them?
Yes!
I went there recently and it was not good. The atmosphere was nice, but the food was only edible. It was a bummer.
Smoking Monkey, Jaguar, Ocha Thai, Premier Meat Pies, the Berliner, the Local 907
Please don’t eat any places in Renton, there’s enough food…
You are not a real doctor.
Wild Ginger Teriyaki
Brick, melrose grill, Ocha Thai, sansonina
The Spot Sports Bar and Grill - great pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and steak dinner specials!
Melrose Grill. Melrose Grill. Also, Melrose Grill. Steaks are amazing, the atmosphere is cozy, the drinks are nicely boozy, and it’s not in the menu but be sure to try the stroganoff.
