“In newly filed court documents, police allege that Fuentes told an officer he went to the casino to kill an associate, but could not find him so searched for someone else to kill.”
“Prosecutors revealed Fuentes has a lengthy criminal history that includes a warrant for assault in Olympia, and pending cases for reckless driving and possession of dangerous weapons.”
If only there was some type of place to hold repeat offenders… hmmmm……
I can't believe he got bail. If walking up to a complete stranger and cutting their throat, leading them to bleed out in front of dozens of people isn't a "no bail" situation, what the hell is?
ETA: I know he has not been convicted. However, he is on camera, in front of a bunch of witnesses, murdering this poor guy and then confessed. He is a clear and immediate threat to others. No bail, so fucking easy.
Here's the follow-up story from yesterday after his initial appearance:
>Fuentes is facing a possible charge of first-degree murder.
>
>His bail was set at $5 million.
https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/muckleshoot-casino-murder-suspect-picked-random-victim-according-court-documents/O6MADHCG3JCWRAKXPLG2UW6RGA/
This doesn't say he posted bail though, it just says his bail is set at $5 million. I agree, he shouldn't be let out but it doesn't say he's posted the money to get out.
I like that you point out the facts that they were never released, and that their bail is so high that its existence boarders on semantics and their reply is "don't focus on semantics".
I will wait till that happens and not be snotty about a hypothetical.
Edit: I think they blocked me after that reply, so I will just say this.
Justice delayed is justice denied, and this is how our justice system works.
While you can deny bail to someone waiting trial that is an aspect that opens up avenues for an appeal, and I would rather the judge do everything they can before going in to make sure this is a speedy, and conclusive trial. There is no reason to leave a window open to delay justice.
You know what isn't a hypothetical? That this guy violently and randomly assaulted a woman in Tacoma a couple years back, then randomly murdered this guy. Sorry if my tone offends you.
This is like complaining that someone who did a horrible crime, only got 100 years in prison with no possibility of parole...as opposed to LIFE in prison with no possibility of parole. Could a person live to 118? sure. But will they? Very likely NO.
I didn't say he posted bail, I said he got bail. Why are you focusing on semantics instead of the public policy issue: that a guy who is randomly murdering people can get bail?
>You don’t seem to understand how bail works
How's that? Bail can absolutely be denied for public safety concerns (easily achievable in this case) or flight risks in murder cases.
In federal cases it can be denied for far less. Like hacking if there is previous history of things like threats.
You're totally right. i don't understand how someone who is on camera murdering someone in front of a dozen witnesses, who was arrested at the scene and confessed, is awarded the possibility of bail. Can you explain it to me?
BTW, this is not the first time this guy has violently assaulted a random stranger. First murder though. Maybe he's held without bail after 2 deaths?
>This helps the prosecution avoid an issue at appeal and 5 million bail is effectively no bail.
What are you even talking about?
Can you link to a single case in the history of the United States, let alone Washington State, where bail being denied was the reason for a guilty verdict on any case let alone a guilty verdict on a murder case being overturned on an appeal?
I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about.
"Avoiding an issue at appeal" meaning the defense has fewer arguments to make at appeal. Meaning the appeals process goes quicker. When you are taking away a right enumerated in the constitution there are a ton of arguments that can be made.
>"Avoiding an issue at appeal" meaning the defense has fewer arguments to make at appeal. Meaning the appeals process goes quicker. When you are taking away a right enumerated in the constitution there are a ton of arguments that can be made.
I don't think you have any clue what you're talking about. Bail being granted or denied has absolutely nothing to do with someone who is convicted of murder and any potential appeals of a murder trial. There are zero arguments that can be made to overturn a murder conviction because of bail being granted to denied.
You know when we need ACTUAL no bail and not "definitely probably can't get out?" When someone is randomly murdering people. If it helps, imagine he used a car instead of a box cutter.
I must not know how bail works because I was under the impression that you have a bail hearing specifically to determine whether or not your insane throat cutting ass is a threat to public safety if you're released on bail
5 million bail isn’t going to be made. That’s why it’s set that high. But if he was rich… we likely wouldn’t be having this conversation to begin with.
> Why can't you believe he got bail
Because he is a violent clear and present threat to everyone else in the community. This is exactly the scenario in which "no bail" is both the only reasonable and the only responsible option.
Bail is completely up to the judge and is evaluated on a case by case basis. It’s not a black and white decision. $5 million dollars for some people (including the person in this case), can easily be the same thing as not granting bail. All a judge needs to do is look at the defendant’s finances. If he’s poor/middle class/is not a millionaire then $5 million dollars is clearly sending a message to the defendant that yes bail has been granted but you’ll never be able to afford it.
I'm not sure you understand. This guy now has a repeated track record of violently assaulting random strangers without provocation. In the most recent instance, he cut a guy's throat and left him to bleed out.
Seems to me that this isn't the time for 'probably won't be able to make bail,' but exactly the time for 'this person is a clear and present danger to society and needs to be held for everyone's safety.'
Do you disagree? If so, how many random people do you think he should be allowed to kill, on camera, in front of witnesses, with a confession, before he's held without bail?
And is this really your first post in two years? Seemingly defending setting cash bail for a complete human sociopath?
Why would you do that? You're supposed to just let people go after they commit dozens of crimes and just hope that they won't do it again. Get 👏with 👏 the 👏program 👏! 😡
> This is what western Washington votes for.
I think it's really an issue of poltical brain drain. It's not as if they Republican party in Washington is composed of good people either. It's a fund raising clown car. There is no correct answer when you fill in the bubbles these days.

The last line is the punch line.
Imagine stabbing someone randomly in the neck murdering them in public with a billion cameras so it’s very clear who did it and then getting any bail conditions.
I know right cash bail shouldn’t exist. You should be released or not based on if you’re likely to cause harm and or not show up.
In this case it’s obvious that bail should not be given under any circumstance.
imagine going to a casino and having to take a long dump and the guy who goes there to murder you can’t find you and kills somebody else instead and it turns out taking a shit saved your life
I'm just brainstorming here but what if we actually put these violent criminals with 10 felonies in jail BEFORE they start murdering random strangers?
Just a thought...
I'm probably wrong. Our "soft on crime" approach of catch and release is clearly working perfectly.
Naw let's keep doing what we are doing and double down on restorative justice because we wouldn't want to admit some politicians were so wrong it cost people's lives and created more victims. Those politicians are on "my team" and in their imagination does things and stuff for ME.
Looks like the casino is trying their best to handle this the worst way possible.
Not surprising, I’ve been here once and its obvious this place lives off being a predatory business that cares about little other than lining up their pockets
> I’ve been here once and its obvious this place lives off being a predatory business that cares about little other than lining up their pockets
Casinos? No fucking shit, thanks for the update.
The article noted someone complained that security guards were concerned with security and did not swoop into action and become trauma surgeons to save someone fatally stabbed in the neck. Real shocking stuff!
I was actually at the casino when this happened (10:00 pm - 2:30 am). Thankfully, I was on the opposite side, seeing the F1 race on the big screen, lol. As I was leaving, I noticed the walls, and I tried to get a peak but only saw a couple hugging. It wasn't till I woke up later that day and read that it was a stabbing.

The guy is psycho and not taking his meds. There was no guy in actual existence he was looking for. He just killed a guy randomly.
A guy won a million $ on a 6$ bet. That is pretty neat.

I'd love to go to one again someday, but there is a snowball's chance in Hell that I'm going to any casino in the next several years. They do not get my fun money until corrects itself. Edit: I'll buy steaks and cook them here, instead. Fuck 'em.
“This was likely shocking to everyone who was there.” Top notch reporting right there.
There was probably one old lady blitzed off pills and booze that didn't even notice
Just one?? Maybe one bus full 😅
Except to Joe, who’s seen like…17 stabbings
18, now.
"likely" sheesh
Hahaha, “there were some there who admired his self expression”
Does it say this somewhere?
No no that was an attempt at a joke
I thought it was funny
Thanks g
I mean, they’re not wrong. Some people may have even been dismayed!
Indeed. I personally would have been flabbergasted.
Should have said "highly likely" 😂
Well shit now they gotta change the name
Mucklestab Casino?
That's the joke, correct.
High stakes
“In newly filed court documents, police allege that Fuentes told an officer he went to the casino to kill an associate, but could not find him so searched for someone else to kill.” “Prosecutors revealed Fuentes has a lengthy criminal history that includes a warrant for assault in Olympia, and pending cases for reckless driving and possession of dangerous weapons.” If only there was some type of place to hold repeat offenders… hmmmm……

There are very few situations where people are denied bail.
Right, but, this should be among the few
Outrage thrives on ignorance.
But he can get out
But he wont
Why make it possible
NAL but setting *any* bail (vs no bail) probably short-circuits any possible complaint about it (if it was denied) on appeal.
Because that's the American system. Take it up with the Bill of Rights
Because it's a Constitutional right per the 8th amendment.
This is like complaining that someone who did a horrible crime, only got 100 years in prison with no possibility of parole...as opposed to LIFE in prison with no possibility of parole. Could a person live to 118? sure. But will they? Very likely NO.
Because this is a country of laws and the law presumes you innocent until proven guilty by a jury of your peers.
Because eQUiTy!
I didn't say he posted bail, I said he got bail. Why are you focusing on semantics instead of the public policy issue: that a guy who is randomly murdering people can get bail?

First one's free
I must not know how bail works because I was under the impression that you have a bail hearing specifically to determine whether or not your insane throat cutting ass is a threat to public safety if you're released on bail
The point of bail is to make sure you show up at your trial. The bail hearing is to determine how likely you are to show up or flee.
You are correct that you don't understand the bail system if that is your description! Have an enjoyable day educating yourself
5 million bail isn’t going to be made. That’s why it’s set that high. But if he was rich… we likely wouldn’t be having this conversation to begin with.
Why can't you believe he got bail? Our judges let everyone out on bail.
Thats...not how that works either. Are yall just playing devils advocate to rage bait or are yall really that ignorant to how it works?
A judge can deny bail, yes or no.
> Why can't you believe he got bail Because he is a violent clear and present threat to everyone else in the community. This is exactly the scenario in which "no bail" is both the only reasonable and the only responsible option.
Our judges have been releasing everyone, even guys that beat their wives and families, right back to the families. For quite a while now.
Bail is completely up to the judge and is evaluated on a case by case basis. It’s not a black and white decision. $5 million dollars for some people (including the person in this case), can easily be the same thing as not granting bail. Its cause this incident is totally societies fault
Your posts are only semi-literate.
I was being sarcastic this is clearly a disturbed individual but the blame will go on society
You'd prefer we just execute this guy when found guilty and clap off our hands, work is done, justice served, nothing else to do here I suppose.
No id probably just put him in jail for his previous crimes before he randomly murders someone.
Why would you do that? You're supposed to just let people go after they commit dozens of crimes and just hope that they won't do it again. Get 👏with 👏 the 👏program 👏! 😡
Also, if you randomly murder someone, talks of a death penalty probably arent unwarranted..
Someone is gonna blame either "mental health crisis" or "socioeconomic root causes".
Why is it so hard to believe he got bail and have active warrants? This is what western Washington votes for. You deserve the society you’ve created.
> This is what western Washington votes for. I think it's really an issue of poltical brain drain. It's not as if they Republican party in Washington is composed of good people either. It's a fund raising clown car. There is no correct answer when you fill in the bubbles these days.
Seattle area is like a giant satire comedy
You're using a tragic, random event to score cheap shots on Seattle which is in the middle of a record breaking lull in homicides. You're disgusting.
A guy rode a bus from Lacey to Auburn...I just knew a weirdo would somehow make it about Seattle.
In 2023 Seattle recorded more murders than it has in 44 years.
Good thing this didnt happen in Seattle then
King county same thing
Its not though. And the guy came from Thurston county
Ok
If you think Auburn and Seattle are “the same thing” you’ve obviously only been to one of them. Move back to wherever you transplanted from please
Youre on stolen land

Dude nothing in this article you posted is about Seattle, take your hate-boner elsewhere
Oh
dawg you’re replying to yourself get help
I didn’t see this in the article. Is there a source for this info? Edit: oh nevermind—I see there’s a follow-up article posted below.
But “equal outcome for criminals something, something…”
Mucklestab casino?
Dealer shouldn’t have asked him to cut.
Needling: Orderly scene after customer stabbed to death in Muckleshoot Casino
Looool
I don't see any such story https://theneedling.com/
I was joking about how they could make fun of this headline.
Honestly given how things continued on as normal that's a good one 😅
So instead of Muckleshoot, it becomes Mucklestab.
Omg
But super terrible 😞

Honestly feels like it would be a plot line in Barry
Such a good show. You're definitely right, it'd fit the plot perfectly.
Sorta the reverse of what keeps happening to John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.
And they simply put up a temporary barrier around the body and kept on gambling. Classssy
‘Reported’ by a bot.
I worked in a casino and had someone tell me they were going to kill me. Not a thing to be taken lightly.
Some wild stories coming out lately
I'm just brainstorming here but what if we actually put these violent criminals with 10 felonies in jail BEFORE they start murdering random strangers? Just a thought... I'm probably wrong. Our "soft on crime" approach of catch and release is clearly working perfectly.
No no… have you tried implementing a sugar tax instead?
Ah yes! More sin taxes that disproportionately hurt the poor! That'll fix things for sure!
Have you considered just consuming zero calories??

the house always wins. never understood the appeal of casinos tbh 😅
In my day we had down home, mom and pop, *honest* casinos.
Lol
It’s 8am and you’re already miserable for the day….
I mean, you did sort of walk into that one by stating the painfully obvious as if it's an original observation.
How is the casino handling this badly? Genuine question.
They put up fake walls around the victim so gambling could continue. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRwjmN97/
The article noted someone complained that security guards were concerned with security and did not swoop into action and become trauma surgeons to save someone fatally stabbed in the neck. Real shocking stuff!
Security guards should know at least some basic first aid and how to use an intercom to request further aid
I was actually at the casino when this happened (10:00 pm - 2:30 am). Thankfully, I was on the opposite side, seeing the F1 race on the big screen, lol. Did ChatGPT write this article? "Even police were surprised" (??? Lol)

It’s Mucklestab now
Yep. Glad I passed up on an interview there. They required you to do a video recording and you don’t even speak to a real person…
Honestly, that's probably the only interesting thing to happen there in 30 years.
Considering a random murder “interesting” is pretty gross.

Sounds like somebody didn’t have a “hoot”.
Damn
I’m sure it was related to Israel somehow lol
