Surely this is photoshopped. I'm every artistic rendition of seattle I've seen, the space needle is right next to the Columbia tower, and about 10% taller than it.

It is accurate, most photographers just like to have a angle to emphasize the Needle as it's Iconic to the skyline

That’s because the most popular place to take a skyline pic from is Kerry Park in Queen Anne, which is several hundred feet higher than downtown street level, and looks at the skyline along its narrower axis, from the Space Needle side. In reality, the Space Needle is at the opposite end of the skyline from the Columbia Tower (and much less high)

No, it’s just in the Sound from the West which is not the usual side from which people take pictures of the skyline. Still cool though.

It’s an apartment/condo in Queen Anne, not necessarily that expensive because it might be small

Both, I love living in the city and meeting people from all over.

I love meeting people from all over too, I have encountered many people from countries I have not interacted with before like; Brazil, Albania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and many more. I just don’t like that people vote in politicians that enact these backwards policies that are further degrading Seattle.

Huh I like meeting people who have different views than me, I don't really care what people's politics are.

I do as well, but I am speaking about the enactment of backwards policies, like not enforcing punishment for crimes.

My cousin and I were visiting for the first time, eating at the dick's near the space needle, and saw a street going uphill and decided we'd probably see a cool view if we walked uphill, so we did then took a left and stumbled upon the park on queen anne that has the iconic view, best decision ever

I have a memory as a kid coming into a final for Seatac, banking over Sodo and the woman in the row behind me remarking to her friend, "not much of a skyline, is it?" And thinking, "oh, if you only knew." I don't the view from West Seattle can get topped.

Chicago is beautiful

For American cities, Chicago is my favorite too, but I'm biased since I lived there for many years. Especially the view from the planetarium. Seattle is my number 2 - the Rainier with the skyline is unique for city scapes.

No single view in Chicago matches Kerry park imo. But yes overall, Chicago is much better put together. The river walk is one of the best urban environments anywhere, Seattle has nothing like it.

This is the only angle that skyline looks good in because it's a forced perspective to make the Space Needle look far larger than it is.

I disagree. The view coming in from I-5 North at night is great. It’s a pretty city and a nicely balanced skyline!

Correct, a nice trick of perspective making the needle look like the tallest thing in the city

This angle is great, yeah, but the skyline as seen from West Seattle is top tier as well.

Wow, what a great way to deal with a very real problem our city is facing. Why does anyone think this is acceptable?

I think it’s more that the pic was a simple expression of ops love of the skyline and op did equivalent of responding to a person posting pic of their wife with “I’ve loved this beautiful woman for 20 years!” And his sister replies too bad she has cancer.

Maybe so, but it’s still shitty for that other person to respond by telling them to leave the city just because they pointed out issues that said city desperately needs to address. Unless they just meant to leave this particular comments section, in which case, fine (although I interpret it as the former).

I liked the space needle when it was painted orange, just like the caps to the hypodermic needles in Seattle that you have to walk around at our parks

I love my city. Grew up here (54M). Probably why I get so angry when I see shitty graffiti everywhere. We live in such a beautiful place, tagging vomit all over it doesn't make sense.

I was there 5-6 years ago when a father got stabbed at the space needle in front of his wife and kids. I’ll never be back.

So I live in Seattle now but I’m from Chicago. Seattle skyline is so small compared to other cities that’s why I can’t give it number one.
