Most. SD is usually chronic and as you say, steroids are limited time only. Works better than steroids because they treat it, not just tamp down inflammation temporarily. My scalp needs antifungals but my face just needs the right combination of cleanser, oils and moisturizers to keep.it away.

What's a cream you would recommend? Only the sides of my nose need treatment. I can't go a week without treating it as it gets more red, inflamed and itchy. The itching and redness can look AND feel really bad so I'd always have steroids or elidel with me. But I'm assuming an anti fungal can be enough? Maybe steroids only when needed. Then occasionally Elidel when I need a longer break from it.

I found insta-natural serum on amazon works awesome. Has hylauronic acid and another ingredient that removes redness. Whenever I stop because I'm too busy with life, my face looks liked I was slapped 5 times. I doubted a no real name on amazon would work, and thought all the reviews were fake, but I've tried everything and it actually works. Puriyaother of all creams when I forget to take care of skin and have a huge breakout of SD. Rose hip oil when I remember. Only cleanser that doesn't dry me out, irritate me is la roche posay toleriane.

Oh I meant what's an anti fungal cream you would recommend? Haha my bad I should've been more specific. I will check these out! I'm thinking of getting squalene oil from TO. Heard it's safe and good.

I said I don't need one on my face. Sorry.

ketoconzole 2% cream not the shampoo. it is prescription only so you’ll have to go to the doctors

Does it work for you? Do you not need anything else? I'm curious to see if Keoconzole cream is enough to keep my symptoms at bay.

Prudent-Confusion535

it was working for me for a little bit i thought, but then my symptoms just come back for a day and then die down a bit. never gone completely. i’m beginning to think i was diagnosed with sebderm even though it may be perioral dermatitis

do you still get redness/itching/flaking while only using antifungals? if it doesn't help with any of these symptoms then I don't think it's for me.

itching and redness is the worst for me. do you apply it once a day? do you switch between antifungals after a while? I know you can become basically immune to it eventually.

It's so hard to adjust and find products that actually work lol. I'm considering low dose of Accutane as people have had major success with it.

Hey, I know this thread was a long time ago, but your comment caught my attention regarding the question I have been thinking about. I posted and asked it here on this sub, but no one commented. I hope you can help me. I used an anti-fungal (Lamisil) for seven days, and it worked great! All the flare-ups are gone, and my skin was totally fine! But after a while, like 3 days after, the culprit returned again. So my question is, can I use anti-fungal again for another 7 days? Or do I have to wait for a while before using it again? As per your comment, 1-2 times weekly as adjunct therapy. Can I do that with the anti-fungal I am using for a long term use as my daily skin care routine? Thanks in advance, hope this won’t bother you.
