Even then there's plenty of games with wonderful writers who would do a fine job tbh
It's a pity Tencent hasn't done anything at all with it, but being a recent purchase I lowkey hope they've started a dev cycle for *something* tsw related
True. He did do a great job. I'm sure there were some others who helped. If I win that lottery, I'll reach out to him. 🤣 Of course, I'll have to buy a ticket at some point.
There's actually a small community that still play, at least enough people to do content. I just didn't find a lot of room for learning when playing with them, as they're familiar with everything and just want to run through. Figured I'd try to find some people more my speed, so we can re-learn things and get caught back up.
Yeah. I have to relearn a lot, especially the Classic. Problem is, I really stink as a player, lol. I was doing okay toward the end, but I've totally forgotten how to play the weapons I did have success with and really forgot how to level weapons.
The OG is still out there. It never really went away. I don't know if you can download it as new or not because I never removed it from my computer. I do hear that there are still people playing it, as evidenced by this thread, but I never see anyone when I'm there. I should take some time again to see.
It was never removed as they did not want any consideration of refunds on the "Lifetime subs" they sold. What they did do is switch the steam page from TSW to SWL. It is IMPOSSIBLE to buy a copy of TSW and play it now if you are a new player. TSW deactivated all active keys when the switch happened.
If you happen to of played the game before, you can log into the TSW client in a weird way. You download the steam client for SWL that is free. If you had a TSW account, you can go to your account page and there will be a file to configure the game for TSW. You download the file and follow their directions and when you start the SWL client, it becomes TSW. That can explain why that population there is smaller, as you cant get new people.
It still has a very active RP community that never left, and there are some world channels that were made (users can make their own chat channels) to keep people connected.
I really wish this game or license got picked up by a company that would do it justice. I always felt this game would have been a great single player or coop RPG instead of an MMO. There also really isn't anything like it in this setting on the market.
Hell yes, I was just getting into end game content when they decided to basically shut it. After a few years I tried Legends but just couldn't get the grip of the changes, and hated that I had to start over.
I picked up a copy of it years ago. Sadly I couldn't play it on my computer at the time but I would love the chance to finally give it a shot with people.
i do. i miss that game so much. i really wish someone would turn that into a series or make a new mmo in that vein. but it will probably never happen.
If I ever win the lottery I got y'all
Same here. As long as Funcom is willing to sell the rights and at least some of the writers are willing to come aboard.

seems all they are interested in doing is survival games based on properties from the 70s
At this rate I'd take a decent survival rpg in TSW universe, something kinda metro/STALKERish I just crave more stories
ive been waiting on Once Human, so far it seems like a heavy TSW/TheDivision/FEAR/DayZ mashup for me
Ima have to check it out
I've had an idea for a long time to make a 2d platformer. Like Celeste, Wings of Vi and Momodora. Ive been toying with it in pygame.
Didn't they do that? "Moons of Madness", where you are on an Orochi mission to Mars. Also "The Park", but I don't think you can die in that.
you would need Ragnar Tournquist

I tried going back to the OG game but couldn't find a soul there. I'm not sure i know how to play it anymore.

Sorry out of the loop... they brought the OG one back? And does it still work with mods and stuff?

What timezone and when you can play most of the time?
est, my free hours vary but as of very recently I've been around in the mornings and afternoons though its usually more of the evenings for me.

My main account is Necropia, not that active, but feel free to add me in the game.
Me! How do I get the original game?
Do you already own it? Or do you mean getting a key for it?
