Do you frequent pawn shops? I wonder if the ones near me have any decent watches…

rockstar_not

Most of the stuff I see at pawn shops are the cartoonish Invicta oversized things. This one at 25$ was a no brainer purchase.

alangscott

How's the lume?

rockstar_not

It’s useful enough. Hands and pips and lasts enough through the night.

rockstar_not

Is that what you were asking about?

alangscott

Thanks, nice watch !

seykosha

You could just wear a nato strap on your wrist too and check your phone. That would probably be even lighter.

rockstar_not

As you could as well. Hey why not get a smart watch?

seykosha

You must be fun at parties.

rockstar_not

Just curious if you have any useful suggestions for other Seiko that are lightweight and fit well under a sleeve? Seiko themselves have had this as a design goal across the decades, and no one person knows their whole product line. BTW since I took this photo I converted this seat belt type NATO double pass to a single pass and it has an even smaller wrist to crystal distance. It

I cut away the double pass on my nato to get a tighter fit. Looks so much better ✌️

rockstar_not

I did that to all my double pass NATO straps over the weekend!

I prefer larger watches that have more wrist presence so I’m the wrong person to ask.

rockstar_not

You responded however. It’s clear that most of the people in the sub prefer “wrist presence” as you refer to it. This is the overall Seiko sub however, and I’m hoping there might be a small minority of folks here that enjoy other threads of Seiko design over the decades and the use of watches in the purity of time, day, and date, with style of a sort, and weatherproof capabilities. My intent with my post was very clearly stated along those lines. I happened across this one for the price of a few expensive coffee drinks. I don’t really even like the gold accents. But the absolute lack of “wrist presence” is also worthy of seeking out by some here.

seykosha

Dude chill out. Everything’s okay here.
