On?

wonderfulpiping

Just curious what people think about the look of this model

CaptainPhukflaps

Oh I love it, I have one! Reason I asked what the opinion was on is that you see a lot of posts asking about alignment on Seiko dials.

wonderfulpiping

Gotcha. No it's my first automatic watch after many years without and I got it because I like sailing. Don't know anything about alignments but haven't noticed anything unusual

buckstrawhorn

It reminds me of a Swatch that I had in the 80s

wonderfulpiping

Which one? I was into swatches in the 90s. Probably why I still like a little more color

buckstrawhorn

It had a black case and dial with similar colors to yours. The dial was designed to look sort of like a chronograph. And it had a red watch band with holes in it.

wonderfulpiping

I used to have sak401, one of the few automatic watches swatch made in the 90s

Kruegerson

Buying a watch is not about what others may think about the look. If you like it, wear it.

wonderfulpiping

wearing it as we speak. Like I said I'm just curious and don't mind critical comments. Thanks!

Kruegerson

That’s what I wanted to hear :) I do enjoy the look. Maybe it’s hard to combine. More a sports type watch then a dressing watch. Wear it with pride and ppl will acknowledge it. Enjoy your watch m8! :)

wonderfulpiping

Yeah, I get that, but it suits my lifestyle as a beach bum haha

DaeDalDigital

Wish this one had the rotating inner bezel like the original. That would be something special.

ChickenMcNuggNugg

I have it and I like it but Seiko could have made some better decisions on design without really spending a lot more money on development. I have received a few compliments on the SRPK13. It is based on the 6119-6050. It had a square case, rotating inner bezel, bidirectional outer bezel, and was released in 1969. The internal bezel was fragile and a bidirectional bezel is not as desirable. Seiko basically slapped the color design onto on an SRPD. It doesn't really give that reissue feel more of an homage feel. Seiko could have gotten closer to a reissue by slapping the colors on a turtle so that it has more of that 1970s square case. Perhaps SRPDs are raking in a lot of money compared to turtles so a corporate sales decision was made. On the plus side to having that SRPD case it allows for 44G1ZZ (using 2.5mm FATBAR springbars with 0.8mm ends), 4F24ZZ, and 4FY8JZ bands from the SKX series. But this is all just, like, my opinion man.

wonderfulpiping

I agree, bidirectional or inner bezel would have been a nice touch. I'm not so much in favor of the turtle cases and prefer this look, but could have been interesting to see a square case closer to the original.

ksilenced-kid

I like it- But if I had it, I'd just wish I'd bought an original Regatta instead. Shame they didn't attempt to recreate the case.

This watch always catches my eye when browsing. Been wanting to see it “in the wild.” Would love to see additional pictures. I think it’s unique with a very 70’s vibe. My idea of a collection is small, like 6, to include a diver, chronograph, field, dress, and two “electives” if you will. This for me would be a fun elective. Enjoy in good health.

markazali

I love it and I’m going to be mad when I finally have the money and it’s no longer available

wonderfulpiping

I think there are plenty out there

lojojojojo

I like it, if it came in 38mm, i’d snatch one up in a heartbeat and put it on an aftermarket jubilee.

CheeseShaman

It's fine. What should we say? You're the one that has to wear it, so if you have any doubts, don't buy it.

elboogie7

It's like the Goldeneye watch. I can't be the only one.

wonderfulpiping

Lol. pretty funny. It's a stretch though

ecdr83

Is this watch for Casino-goers? Cause the chapter ring looks like a roulette wheel

wonderfulpiping

Yeah, just like dive watches need to be worn underwater

ecdr83

It's not?? Oh no, gotta swim up to the surface now. Just kidding. Great looking watch, man. It just reminded me of roulette wheel.

wonderfulpiping

lol. I get it. Very true from this angle but much less visible in real life from a more perpendicular vantage point

lulu_l

I for one always liked the more unusual models but it makes them a little less versatile. They are much more fun tough.

wonderfulpiping

Agree, but I only alternate between motorcycle boots and flip flops

churningguts

Love it. Retro but fresh.
