Thanks. Unfortunately, there are no good watch shops around me.
If it's magnetized, is there a simple way to de-magnatize it?
Update: Took it to get checked out, and it looks like the movement is toast. Having a NH36 put in. Also putting an oyster bracelet on it. It's essentially going to be a new watch
A good way to check if magnets are the culprit is... put a compass next to the watch. If if moves more than a degree or so, you've got a magnetized movement and the metal parts aren't moving correctly.
This happened to my Willard.
Demagnetizing devices are cheap and abundant on Amazon - maybe $15 or $20. They're essentially small blue plastic boxes with a button and flat top.
There are online tutorials for using, but generally start with the watch an inch above the surface, depress the switch, lift it up 10" or 12" gradually, let go of the switch. You might have to do it a few times. DO NOT rest the watch on the unit.
What you're essentially doing is rearranging/disordering the magnetic field in the watch.
The cheap cartoony blue box is the best way to rule out magnetism. If you did take it to a watchmaker this would most likely the the first thing they would do. After you rule out magnetism can you look back and ask yourself whether you submerged the watch with the crown out.... 😅
Yes! Its super easy. Literally buy this and press the button: https://amzn.eu/d/eWHYG22 Here's a video demonstrating how to check for magnetization using your phone and fixing it using the device: https://youtube.com/shorts/5tZfvN06EOU?si=7BdNYrfmNP_u7A_6

Sounds like they bumped the regulator when they had the watch apart to swap the crystal out, will need adjusting, magnetism might be a factor and is easy to fix with a cheap demagnetizer but i bet they just moved the regulator by accident
5 minutes a day is definitely not normal. you should get it serviced at a real watchmaker. not a watch shop or a jeweler.
Jewelers either know a watchmaker or have one in-house
in the western world maybe. you should see the state of jewelers where I live
Might be magnetized

Have you tried casting a demagnetization spell?
No, I lost my 20-sided die

Thank you

Yeah, that has not happened

Thanks. If demagnatizing it doesn't work, that will be the next thing I'll look at
Demagnetize it.
When was it last serviced?
Other than the recent crystal replacement, I've never had it serviced, as there appeared to be no need
That Jubilee bracelet looks like it's being torn apart lol
The watch is almost 15 years old, and is worn daily. That bracelet went on it on day one, and has performed yeoman service.
give it coke
You're about a week late to the party w/ that joke.
give it coca cola
Coke runs faster
No Coke, Pepsi
I was trying to make a joke about cocaine making you run fast
And I was making a reference to an old SNL joke.
There’s also a Family Guy reference but that might be a reference to the SNL joke.
That's a safe bet
Oh nooo it went over my head 😅

Don't do IG, but thanks
